Low-mineral waters of Skhodnitsa [correction of Skhodnitsky] springs N 13 and N 15 rich in iron, silicon and manganese were tried for an antianemic effect. The latter was registered clinically and experimentally.

Abstract

It is stated that organic matters contained in mineral water Naftusia appear in blood serum 10 min after intragastric introduction of this water to rats. Long administration of water Naftusia to animals stimulates the monooxygenase hepatic system and secretory renal apparatus, that probably, underlies the mechanism for weakening of damaging effect of hepatotropic poison.

Abstract

Slight-mineralized chalybeate waters of the Skhodnitsa deposit containing organic matters are distinguished by high-molecular organic iron complexes present in waters. It is shown that such natural complex iron compounds are characterized by high biological accessibility making these mineral waters very useful for posthemorrhagic anemia due to their therapeutic action.
