Anastomosing hemangioma of the ovary is a rare vascular tumor that predominantly affects middle-aged women. Despite its benign nature, its histological appearance can mimic aggressive vascular lesions, posing diagnostic challenges. This review aims to provide an overview of this uncommon entity.

OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to investigate the hypolipidemic effects of carnosine and a commercial carnosine supplement on lipid status, liver and kidney function, and inflammation associated with dyslipidemia in rats with high-fat diet-induced hyperlipidemia. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The study was conducted on adult male Wistar rats, divided into control and experimental groups. Animals were kept in standard laboratory conditions and according to groups were treated with saline, carnosine, carnosine dietary supplement, simvastatin, and their combinations. All substances were prepared fresh every day and used by oral gavage. RESULTS: Treatment with a carnosine-based supplement significantly improved total and LDL cholesterol levels in serum, especially in the combination with simvastatin as a conventional drug in dyslipidemia treatment. The effect of carnosine on the metabolism of triglycerides was not as evident as in the case of cholesterol. Nevertheless, the values of the atherogenic index showed that the combinations of carnosine and carnosine supplement with simvastatin were the most effective in lowering this comprehensive lipid index. Dietary carnosine supplementation resulted also in anti-inflammatory effects, as demonstrated by immunohistochemical analyses. Besides, the good safety profile of carnosine in terms of its effect on liver and kidney functions was also confirmed. CONCLUSIONS: The use of carnosine supplements in preventing and/or treatment of metabolic disorders requires further investigations into the mechanisms of action and potential interactions with conventional therapy. Fatigue after breast cancer treatment is a common burden that is challenging to treat. The aim of this study was to explore if such integrated rehabilitation program reduces the prevalence of chronic fatigue compared to simple, non-integrated rehabilitation.

This paper considers the monitoring of the entire process of an installation of a smart autonomous production system, and continuous analysis of its operation. The smart production system consists of an industrial robot and a computer numerical control (CNC) machine. Research is focused on the industrial robot subsystem; an implementation of a fuzzy logic method for end effectors is applied, and results regarding relevant clamping force are presented. The grippers and magnetic switches are described in more detail, and devices for measuring the clamping force are shown and analyzed. After installation and levelling of the machine, it is necessary to perform calibration - the correction of movement along the axis of the CNC machine. In theory, if the CNC machine is programmed to follow an ideal circular path, when the positioning accuracy of the machine and its tooling is perfect, then the actual curve that the machine produces, would correspond exactly to the ideally programmed circle. In practice, many factors affect CNC machine performance causing deviations from the ideal circuit. Factors influencing the accuracy are various, stemming from machine geometry, through the control system, to machine wear over many years of the operation. A possible upgrade of the existing system, in order to increase the autonomy, and reduce the need for a human operator, would include the installation of a 3D camerasensor. The robot would take the correct pieces in accordance with production or assembly process, from the box next to it. The box is being filled with preparations from a conveyor belt. Exercising command over units, as an element of capabilities of all armed forces, in armed conflicts represents a highly complex process. It is done in compliance with factors and principles, and through documents, and it is carried out from superiors to the subordinates. Command posts are part of the area of operation where commands or staffs (in their entirety or their segments) plan operations and activities, where from those decisions, in the form of orders and commands, are distributed to subordinate units. This paper draws a comparison between tactical-level command posts in the Serbian Armed Forces, armed forces of the Russian Federation and the United States of America by criteria of conceptual determination (purpose and types) and organisation (composition and manner of functioning). Apart from the comparative method, the research utilised other methods as well: definitions and classification, content analysis and analysis and synthesis. The aim of the research is to describe the purpose, composition and work organisation at command posts of foreign armed forces, and compare them with command posts of the Serbian Armed Forces. The research results have unequivocally indicated that the purpose and types of command posts in the Serbian Armed Forces and in foreign armed forces are rather similar, while the composition, organisation and structure, and the manner of functioning are partially different.

The term genitourinary syndrome of menopause was first used in 2014 by the North American Menopause Society and the International Society for the Study of Women's Sexual Health to describe conditions previously known as atrophic vaginitis, urogenital atrophy, or vulvovaginal atrophy. It is a complex, chronic, progressive condition characterized by a wide range of signs and symptoms affecting sexual function and the tissues of the urinary and genital tracts. The main cause of genitourinary syndrome of menopause is estrogen deficiency caused by ovarian removal or dysfunction. The most bothersome symptoms are vaginal dryness, decreased vaginal lubrication, and pain during penetration and intercourse. They all have a negative impact on the quality of life.

Electrochemotherapy has good local effectiveness in the treatment of vulvar cancer. Most studies have reported the safety and effectiveness of electrochemotherapy for palliative treatment of gynecological cancers and mostly vulvar squamous cell carcinoma. Some tumors, however, fail to respond to electrochemotherapy. The biological features/determinants for the nonresponsiveness are not determined yet.

Background/Aim. Quantitative hepatitis B virus (HBV) surface antigen (qHBsAg) has become increasingly wide-spread in the last few years in both diagnostic and therapeutic protocols for HBV infection. Numerous studies have proposed it as a surrogate marker for covalently closed circular DNA (cccDNA). The aim of the study was to determine the correlation between qHBsAg and HBV DNA viremia in untreated patients. Methods. The study included 112 untreated patients diagnosed with chronic HBV infection. Demographic and other data from medical records and laboratory analyses, taken as part of routine chronic HBV infection diagnosis with the determination of qHBsAg and HBV DNA viremia, were recorded for all patients. Results. The average age of the patients included in the study was 48.27 ± 15.14 years; males (58%) were more represented. qHBsAg levels had a high-intensity positive correlation with HBV DNA viremia. The concentration of qHBsAg, HBV DNA viremia, and the concentrations of alanine aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase showed statistically significantly higher values in HBV e antigen (HBeAg)-positive than in HBeAg-negative patients. Conclusion. Our study showed that qHBsAg has a high-intensity positive correlation with HBV DNA viremia. The use of qHBsAg is essential for determining the phase of chronic HBV infection, assessment of the success and length of treatment, as well as for safe discontinuation of antiviral therapy with a lower risk of relapse.

Planning is one of the process functions of management. Observed in the context of military organizational systems (armed forces), planning consists of three phases: anticipation, decision-making and development of plans/orders. The specifics of planning in military organizational systems are reflected in the characteristics of the environment in which military organizational systems exist, and which are visualized through the dimensions of the operational environment at the strategic and operational level, or through elements of the operational framework at the tactical level. Military organizational systems have developed special logical-thinking algorithms (tools, instruments) that simplify planning at all levels of the organization. Planning in military organizational systems is done using standard operational and troop leading procedures. The focus of the work is on the tactical level of the organization, ie the troop leading procedures are explained separately. In order to get a complete picture of the importance of planning in military organizational systems for the paper, a research was conducted with the aim of answering the research question: Is there a similarity in troop leading procedures of military organizational systems of the Republic of Serbia, NATO countries and the Russian Federation?

The paper deals with the issue of decision-making (planning phase as a procedural function of management in defence) in the use of units of the Serbian Armed Forces (SAF) in emergencies caused by floods. The basis of the paper is the data obtained on the basis of insight into the documents of the units of the SAF and civilian authorities engaged in the endangered area of the city municipality of Obrenovac during the floods in May 2014. The paper presents an approach to the application of multi-criteria decision-making methods in deciding on the use of units of the SAF in the endangered area. The focus of the paper is on the presentation of an instrument that can be used in the SAF when deciding in the case of choosing a ferry crossing point for crossing the water obstacle for the evacuation of people and material goods. The choice of the ferry crossing point is made in the catchment of the river Sava, ie on one river section. The method used in this paper is a combination of elements of the AHP method and the basic ELECTRE method. By applying the AHP method, it is possible to better rank the alternatives within the ELECTRE method, ie a more stable and reliable solution to the problem is reached. The research question posed in the paper is: "Is there a possibility of applying the method of multi-criteria decision-making when planning the use of units of the SAF?". By applying the combined AHP-ELECTRE method in solving the problem - choosing the ferry crossing point, the results showed that there is a possibility of applying the method of multi-criteria decisionmaking when planning the use of units of the SAF. Also, the paper points out the shortcomings of the application of these methods, primarily due to the partial approach to problem solving.

The right to liberty and security of persons, as well as individual's absolute right not to be ill-treated or sent to the territory of the State where one would face such risk, represent a cornerstone of refugee and migrant protection at all border crossings. However, regardless of the migration status of a foreigner arriving at the border control posts, an entire scope of human rights protects an individual from border police officers who exercise a State's sovereignty in controlling entry, stay and expulsion from its territory. This undisputable right of the State is not an absolute one, and it has to be performed in line with the international human rights law, but also international refugee law. Inspired by the case of Novak Đoković, this paper deals with the legal status of foreigners who have been refused entry and detained at the airport transit zones. The practice at Belgrade airport will serve as a case study. The status of foreigners at the transit zone of the Nikola Tesla airport will be examined from the perspective of the right to liberty and security and the standards which arose from the practice of the European Court of Human Rights.

Business process standardization is the activity of combining different variants of related business processes with the aim of homogenizing similar business processes in an organization to ensure that if an organization performs the same activities in different places, it does so in the same way. The central problem of this research is related to the analysis of the impact of business process standardization on its efficiency. The aim of the research is to determine whether and to what extent it is justified to standardize the business process. The realization of the defined research goal will be achieved by answering the following research questions: What are the results of existing research in terms of the effects of business process standardization on process performance? Do the characteristics of the business process affect the possibility and level of standardization of the business process? Systematic analysis of the literature has identified a number of positive effects that the standardization of the business process has on the performance of the process: reducing costs, improving quality, shortening the production cycle time, increasing the satisfaction of process stakeholders. However, in addition to the stated benefits, Business Process Standardization also has a negative effect on the functional flexibility of the process. Standardization of output reduces the ability of the organization to fully meet the variety of output required by customers, which can affect the reduction of demand.

The system of the financial management and control (hereinafter referred to as: FMC) in the public sector and the Ministry of Defence of the RS (hereinafter referred to as: MoD) should focus on the principles of economy, efficiency, effectiveness and publicity, with the legal use of public funds, aimed at supporting the management in business improvement. Hence, it is necessary to continuously improve the FMC, not to allow problems to arise, but to detect potential risks through controls and take preventive actions, in order to improve business. The objective of the paper is to emphasize the importance of the financial management and control in the public sector, and also in the Ministry of Defence as one of its ministries. Methodologically, analyses and syntheses, comparisons, inductions and deductions of business and FMC for the last five years in the public sector of the RS are included. On the basis of this research and the considered functioning of the FMC, good and bad experiences in normative regulation and in practice, problems have been identified with proposals for its improvement in the public sector and in the MoD of the RS. The improvement proposal has been made by analysing the reports of the Ministry of Finance and the State Audit Institution (hereinafter referred to as: SAI), by researching the operations and functioning of the FMC in the MoD.

Ovarian cancer is the seventh most common cancer in women worldwide and the eighth most common cause of cancer death. Due to the lack of effective early detection strategies and the unspecific onset of symptoms, it is diagnosed at an advanced stage in 75% of cases. The cancer antigen (CA) 125 is used as a prognostic marker and its level is elevated in more than 85% of women with advanced stages of epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC). The standard treatment is primary debulking surgery (PDS) followed by adjuvant chemotherapy (ACT), but the later approach is neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) followed by interval debulking surgery (IDS). Several studies have been conducted to find out whether preoperative CA-125 serum levels influence treatment choice, surgical resection and survival outcome. The aim of our study was to analyse experience of single institution as Cancer comprehensive center with preoperative usefulness of CA-125.
