Several per-O-acetyl and per-O-benzoyl glycosylthiocarbamides were synthesized by the interaction of glycosylisothiocyanates and o-phenylenediamine. While these thiocarbamideson further reactions with anisaldehyde give respective benzylidene derivatives. The identities of these newly synthesized compounds were established on the basis of usual chemical transformations, IR, ¹H NMR, 13C NMR and Mass spectral studies. All the synthesized compounds have been evaluated for their antibacterial and antifungal activity against different bacteria and fungi by the agar diffusion method. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The orange light emitting KSrPOSm (x = 0.001, 0.002, 0.005, 0.01 and 0.02) phosphors were successfully synthesized via solid-state diffusion method. The phase of the prepared KSrPO:Sm phosphor was confirmed by powder XRD analysis and studied its photoluminescence (PL) properties under ultraviolet (UV) excitation (300-450 nm). The XRD pattern of prepared KSrPO:Sm phosphor is well matched with available standard ICDD file having card no. 00-033-1045. The excitation and emission spectra of prepared phosphor were monitored at 598 and 402 nm respectively. The PL emission spectra of prepared KSrPO:Sm phosphor consists of series of sharp lines peak at 559, 598, and 644 nm, to the corresponding to G → H, G → H and G → H transitions of Sm ion respectively. The optimum PL intensity is obtained at 0.005 mol of Sm ion at 402 nm excitation. The CIE (Commission International de l′Eclairage) coordinates of prepared phosphor was calculated and found to x = 0.6177, y = 0.3817. A series of 2-Tetra-O-benzoyl-β-D-glucopyranosyl-4-phenyl-5-arylimino-1, 3, 4-thiadiazolidines have been synthesized by the interaction of 1-Tetra-O-benzoyl-β-D-glucopyranosyl-3-phenyl amino thiocarbamide with various aryl isocyanodichloride. A series of 1-Tetra-O-benzoyl-β-D-glucopyranosyl-3-(2)-substituted hydrazino-1, 3-benzothiazolyl thiocarbamides 3a-g have been synthesized by the interaction of Tetra-O-benzoyl-β-D-glucopyranosyl isothiocyanate 1 with various 2-hydrazino benzothiazoles 2a-g.
