The article discusses the cases of two patients with pneumatosis cystoides intestinalis (PCI) which is defined as the presence of gas within the walls of the colon. Topics discussed include the symptoms of the patients, the results of colonoscopy and plain radiography, and management of the condition by puncturing and suctioning the polyps.

Abstract

The article describes the case of video capsule retention in a 36-year-old woman with cryptogenic multifocal ulcerous stenosing enteritis. Topics discussed include the asymptomatic capsule retention in the ileum, the mechanism of capsule disintegration, and observations from histological examination which revealed superficial erosions and reparative changes with granulation tissue in the mucosa and submucosa.
