Alternaria mycotoxins are the secondary metabolites for which the regulations, as well as the standardization, are yet going to be established by the European Commission and the European Committee for Standardization. This paper describes the possibility to apply a "dilute-and-shoot" method for the determination of tentoxin, alternariol and alternariol monomethyl ether in wheat. The used chromatographic method was liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). The strategy involves extraction the samples with the acetonitrile and water mixture (84/16, v/v), followed by the vortexing, centrifugation and filtration before the injection into the LC-MS/MS system. The recovery was assessed by analysis of spiked samples with a mixture of standard solutions of all three mycotoxins at two spiking levels (0.02 and 0.1 mg kg-1) in six replicates. The obtained average recoveries and precisions (expressed as the RSDr, %) for "dilute-and-shoot" method were 76.3% (RSDr of 6.47%) for alternariol, 105.2% (RSDr of 2.16%) for tentoxin, and 86.0% (RSDr of 3.91%) for alternariol monomethyl ether. All the obtained validation data were in accordance with the Commission Decision 2002/657/EC and Commission Regulation (EC) No 401/2006. The main advantages of the present method are the simple and easy sample preparation, along with the high-sensitivity detection.

The performance of the QuEChERS extraction followed by the LC-MS/ MS analytical method was evaluated in terms of Alternaria mycotoxins recovery from the wheat. The alternariol (AOH), tentoxin (TEN) and alternariol monomethyl ether (AME) were analyzed using the ESI+ (electrospray positive ionization) by multiple reactions monitoring mode (MRM). In order to determine the recovery, the blank wheat samples were spiked at two spiking levels (0.01 and 0.1 mg/kg) in six replicates. The obtained average recoveries and precisions (expressed as the RSDr, %) were as follows: 107.6% (RSDr of 6.84%) for alternariol, 108.0% (RSDr of 6.78%) for tentoxin and 110.1% (RSDr of 6.50%) for alternariol monomethyl ether. The results of this study were in accordance with the Commission Decision 2002/657/EC and Commission Regulation (EC) No 401/2006.

The interest in tropane alkaloids as food contaminants has been increasing. The tropane alkaloids are plant toxins that mainly occur in Atropa, Datura and Hyoscyamus sp belonging to the Solanaceae family. A sensitive and selective LC-MS/MS method was applied for the analysis of atropine and scopolamine in the mint tea samples from the Serbian market. Tea, which has beneficial properties thanks to the phenolic compounds, can be accidentally contaminated by many weed seeds which contain the tropane alkaloids during the harvest. Only the tropane alkaloids present in the tea bags before the tea making were analysed. Atropine and scopolamine were detected in 30% of the analysed samples in the concentration above the limit of quantification.

The interest in tropane alkaloids (TA) as food contaminants is increasing. A sensitive and selective LC-MS/MS method was applied for the analysis of corn puff samples from the Serbian market. Only atropine was quantified in 22% of the samples. In case of scopolamine, although not quantified, it was detected in 22% of the samples. Whether the acute reference dose (ARfD) could be exceeded was checked on a case-by-case basis for the individual products under assessment. Due to their low body weight and relatively high snack consumption, preschool children were at the highest risk of TA exposure. Assuming that the average consumption is 50 g of corn puffs per day, the sample with the highest concentration of TAs (2.05 μg/kg, 1.58 μg/kg of atropine) could contribute with 32.0% to the ARfD, of which 24.7% owing to atropine. If the same amount of corn puffs is consumed by older age classes, corresponding exposure contributions to the ARfD would progressively decline, down to 8.4% for adult population. The study revealed no health risk from TAs exposure through the consumption of the corn puffs in Serbian population.

bisphenol a ,baby bottles ,drink containers ,Technology (General) ,T1-995 - Abstract
Bisphenol A is a monomer used primarily in the production of polycarbonate plastics and epoxy resins. Polycarbonate plastic is used in a wide variety of digital media products, electrical and electronic equipment, sport safety equipment, reusable food and drink containers, etc. Epoxy resins are used in engineering applications, paints and adhesives and also in a variety of protective coatings in metal cans for foods, bottle tops and water supply pipes. The content of BPA was evaluated in 16 samples (6 baby bottles and 10 drinking containers - can) collected during 2018/2019, of which three baby bottles and 8 cans were collected in 2018, while three baby bottles and 2 cans in 2019. A simple HPLC-FLD analytical method was validated for the quantitation of BPA from baby feeding bottles and cans. The separation was performed on a C18 column. Good linearity was obtained over the concentration range of 0.3-6.0 μg/mL with the regression coefficient (R2) of 0.9998. The limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantification (LOQ) were 0.01 and 0.03 μg/mL, respectively. The repeatability of the method (%RSD) was between 4 and 6%, while the recovery ranged from 104.3 to 109.7%. The extraction of BPA was done in accordance with SRPS EN 13130-1:2008. The methods were applied to determine BPA release from baby bottles, performing repeated procedures according to EU and national regulations (SRPS CEN/TS 13130-13 (2008)). The conformity was evaluated according to National and EU requirements. The results show that Bisphenol-A was not detectable in any of the analysed samples. - Abstract
Hidrolati predstavljaju nusproizvode nastale tokom procesa ekstrakcije etarskih ulja. U radu je ispitan efekat hidrolata macine trave (Nepeta cataria L., fam. Lamiaceae) na klijanje semena i rast korenka i stabaoca kukuruza (Zea mays L.), soje (Glycine max (L.) Merr.), štira (Amarantus retroflexus L.) i pepeljuge (Chenopodium album L.).

- Abstract
The aim of this study was to determine the effect of the hydrolates obtained as the by-products of the Thymus vulgaris essential oil steam distillation process. The bioassays, which were undertaken in order to determine the effect on germination and initial growth of seedlings of some cultivated and weed species, were performed under controlled conditions with different concentrations of the hydrolates. Seeds of Glycine max, Helianthus annuus, Zea mays, Triticum aestivum, Daucus carota subsp. sativus, Allium cepa, Medicago sativa, and Trifolium repens, and six weed species—Amaranthus retroflexus, Chenopodium album, Portulaca oleracea, Echinochloa crus-galli, Sorghum halepense, and Solanum nigrum—were treated with 10, 20, 50, and 100% T. vulgaris hydrolate solution. The obtained results showed that the T. vulgaris hydrolate had the least negative effect on the germination of cultivated species, such as soybean, sunflower and maize, whereas clover and alfalfa were the most sensitive. By comparison, all the tested weed species expressed high susceptibility. It can be concluded that the T. vulgaris hydrolate has an herbicidal effect, in addition to its potential as a biopesticide in terms of integrated weed management.

Functional food is positioned above the traditional, with the potential to improve human health. Thanks to very good physico-mechanical and barrier properties polymers became very popular in food industry as a packaging materials. Wild range of fermented dairy products could be packed in this packaging materials according to their’s inertness as well. Functional milk beverage was obtained from milk with 0,9% milk fat content by applying 10% v/v of kombucha’s inoculum cultivated on a black tea sweetened with sucrose. The beverage was packed in a different packaging materials: polyamid-polyethylen (PA/PE) coextruded foil bags and polyprophylen (PP) cups closed with aluminium (Al) foil lids under atmospheric conditions (ATM). Beverages were storaged for 15 days at 4°C. The quality of kombucha inoculum, milk and obtained kombucha fermented milk beverage were analysed. Characterization of the packaging materials was done by investigating physico-mechanical, barrier and structural properties. The composition and changes in the headspace atmosphere, after production and during the storage, were analysed. The influence of packaging material properties and packaging conditions on the biochemical transformations of the milk’s components (the content of: lactose, L-lactic acid, D-galactose, ethanol, B1 and B2 vitamins) influenced by kombucha starter were analysed as well. On the bases of the obtained results of characterisation of packaging materials, it can be concluded that PA/PE and PP materials are proper to be used for analysed beverage’s packaging. Also, there is no significant difference in content of components which were quantified, between analysed materials in correlation with the packed fermented milk beverage. - Abstract
Sprouted seeds and microgreens are emerging as innovative specialty raw salad crops, valued for their health-promoting properties. However, the risk of foodborne illnesses associated with microbial contamination in microgreens underscores the need for effective sanitization in their production. This study explores using hydrolates, by-products of essential oil distillation from six plants, as natural sanitizers in alfalfa microgreen production. The research investigates their impact on seed germination, antimicrobial activity, and sensory attributes. Results revealed that oregano, fennel, lavender, and lemon catmint hydrolates decrease alfalfa seed germination, while peppermint and hop hydrolates have no significant impact. Peppermint and fennel hydrolates demonstrate notable efficacy in antimicrobial testing. Sensory analysis indicates differences in odour and flavour, with peppermint, oregano, and lavender receiving high scores. According to the results, peppermint hydrolate can be considered a favourable option for alfalfa micro sprout production, contributing to sustainable and organic approaches in urban agriculture and underlining the importance of natural sanitizers for food safety.

Perennial adventitious species Asclepias syriaca L. which originates from Northern America is spread across Serbia, and especially Vojvodina, along the banks of waterways and borders of floodplain forests. Based on floristic and phytocenological studies in Bačka, the presence of ass. Asclepiadetum syriacae Lániková in Chytrý 2009 stands, in which A. syriaca is present with the highest degree of presence (V) and with substantial covering value (2850), can be confirmed. The study shows ecological analysis of stands of mentioned association for basic environmental factors (moisture - F, reaction - R, nutrients - N, humus - H, aeration - D, light - L, temperature - T, and continentality - K) based on floristic composition of stands and their ecological indices, considering population and every species coverage in a stand. Given that a combined scale for population and coverage of species in stands, along numerical, has descriptive marks, modification of evaluated values according to Westhoff & van der Maarel scale which is completely numerical was conducted, which enabled data processing. The obtained results of the ecological analysis point to favorable ecological conditions for development of stands of this association, which can help predict the possible directions of spread of this invasive species.

Asclepias syriaca L. is an invasive plant in Serbia which threatens the biodiversity and ecosystem functionality with its high production of wind-dispersed seeds and the rapid proliferation by the lateral rhizomes. The mechanism that allows its competitiveness is allelopathy - the release of the chemical compounds identified in the roots and leaves which have negative effects on the other plants. These allelochemicals not only affect the development of the neighboring plants, but also are a potential source of the antioxidant and antimicrobial compounds, which increase the immunity of the plant itself, protecting it from the pests and the pathogens. The present study aimed to screen the antifungal activity of the A. syriaca water and methanol extracts. In vitro antimicrobial activity was analyzed by the radial growth assays against the three phytopathogenic fungi isolates: Alternaria alternata, Fusarium avenaceum and Discula platani. The results were processed by factorial ANOVA and the statistically significant differences were determined by Duncan's multiple range test using the software STATISTICA 13.5. The obtained results suggest that the A. syriaca water extract has a significant fungistatic and potential fungicidal effect towards the tested phytopathogenic fungi and thus can be considered as a potential tool for their biological control. Svi ostali pesticida bila su ispod granica MRL-a., Quality of milk plays a key role in its wide consumption but also of its involvement in a large series of derived products, such as yogurt, cheese, butter, and ice cream. An effective LC-MS/MS method has been validated for the determination of 81 different pesticide residues in milk samples. The analyses comprised 44 milk samples collected during 2019. From all inspected pesticides, only metalaxyl (present in 11.36% samples), bifenthrin and metolachlor (9.09%), dimethoate (4.55%), prochloraz and thiacloprid were detected in 2.27% of analysed samples. The detections of trifloxystrobin and bifenthrin were above the maximum residue levels (MRLs). The Commission Regulation (EU) 2017/1135 standardizes the MRLs for dimethoate and omethoate in certain products, but a MRL for dimethoate residues in milk has not been established jet. All the other pesticide detections were below the MRLs.

- Abstract
Phytotoxic substances released by invasive plants have been reported to have anti‐pathogen, anti‐herbivore, and allelopathic activity. The aim of this study was to determine the allelopathic influence of the Ambrosia trifida L. on oxidative stress parameters (the lipid peroxidation process; reduced glutathione (GSH) content; and activity of antioxidant enzymes catalase (CAT), superoxide dismutase (SOD), and peroxidase (PX)) and phenolic compounds (total phenolic and tannin content) in maize (Zea mays L.), soybean (Glycine max L.), and sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) crops to explore the effect of released allelochemicals through A. trifida root on crops. An analysis by HPLC confirmed the presence of protocatechuic acid, p‐hydroxybenzoic acid, vanillic acid, and syringic acid as major components in the A. trifida. Based on the obtained results for oxidative stress parameters, it can be concluded that the sunflower was the most sensitive species to A. trifida allelochemicals among the tested crops. The other two crops tested showed a different sensitivity to A. trifida. The soybean did not show sensitivity, while the maize showed sensitivity only 10 days after the sowing.

- Abstract
Hemp (Cannabis sativa L.) was one of the earliest domesticated plant species. Biological classification (taxonomy or systematization) manifests evolutional relationships between taxons according to trait similarities. When it comes to taxonomy, hemp is one of the most controversial plant species due to significant effects of environmental conditions on hemp phenology and expression of quantitative traits as well as different levels of gender expression observed in hemp plants. Controversial taxonomy of hemp has gone through several phases throughout history. The attitude on the number of species within the genus Cannabis and the criteria used in taxonomic units division were under dispute. Initially focused on morphological characteristics and geographical origin, the approach was greatly amended by the development of molecular and biochemical techniques. The main cause of taxonomic uncertainties is the inbreeding ability of all wild Cannabis populations, resulting in continual variability of quantitative traits. The aim of the paper is to review the history of Cannabis classification including different approaches to this scientific issue.

- Abstract
Prosečna klijavost semena korova iz v, Weeds are a unique group of plants that accompany cultivated plant species and thus adversely affect grapevine growth, development and yield in vineyards. After reaching the soil, weed seeds remain on the surface before gradually penetrating the deeper soil layers to create a soil bank of weed seeds. Depending on the weed vegetation control method, extensive and intensive grapevine cultivation types can be distinguished. In this work, a study of the impact of different weed control measures—land treatment and herbicide application—on the weed vegetation, i.e., on the seed land bank in vineyards, is presented. The research was carried out in the 2011−2013 period, in three regions (Subotica-Horgoš, Fruška Gora and Erdut) in vineyards established by intensive farming method intended for commercial grape production, as well as in vineyards based on extensive cultivation method. At selected sites, soil sampling was performed in inter-and intra-row spaces, in ten replications from 0−30 cm depth. Oil samples were washed with water through copper sieves of certain diameter and dried at room temperature, after which the weed seeds were separated and determined. A comparison of weed seed banks in vineyards established by different grapevine cultivation methods revealed a significant difference between the weed seed abundance in extensive and intensive vineyards—from 45,332 seeds/m2 at the Sremski Karlovci site in the inter-row spacing of an intensively grown vineyard to 72,338 seeds/m2 at the Subotica site, in the inter-row spacing of vineyard established by the extensive method. Although 48 weed species were determined among the seeds separated from the soil samples, only a few species were predominant, based on a higher number of seeds relative to other weed species, namely: Amaranthus retroflexus L., Portulaca oleracea L., Chenopodium album L. and Stellaria media (L.) Vill. After germinating, the dominant weed species had significantly higher germination rate compared to a

- Abstract
Kroz opšte, istorijske i okvire naučnih istraživanja, prvenstveno laboratorijskih ogleda, dat je presek nastanka, razvoja, današnjeg stanja i budućeg potencijala fenomena zvanog alelopatija. Potencijal alelohemikalija nameće potrebu analize biljaka jakog alelopatskog delovanja, identifikacije alelohemikalija, proučavanje njihovog mehanizma delovanja i njihove primene u biljnoj proizvodnji. Kod semena kukuruza, primena etil acetatnog ekstrakta A. theophrasti je dovela do najnižeg procenta klijavosti što ukazuje na inhibitoran alelopatski uticaj istog, zatim metanolni, dok su ostala tri ekstrakta (vodeni, heksanolni i butanolni) takođe potvrdili inhibitar, Aphenomenon called allelopathy has been examined and explained through general, historical and scientific frameworks of scientific researches, first of all laboratory experiments, providing data on its cross-section of origin, development, current condition and future potential. It is possible to distinguish allelopathy from other mechanisms of plant community since its harmful effect appears as a result of the release of allelochemicals. For this reason it is also different from its competition. Allelopathy is considered to be one of the bases of sustainable agriculture, thus becoming a priority field of study in developed countries. The aim of this research was to determine the allelopathic influence of the extract of weed species A. theophrasti and X.strumarium on the initial growth of soybean and maize germs, as well as to determine the concentration of extracts of the examined weed species that have a negative impact on the germination of soybean and maize in laboratory conditions. Within field conditions, the aim of the research was to determine the concentration of the examined extracts of weed species that have a negative impact on the yield of test plants, as well as to determine the number of the examined weed plants per m2 that have a negative impact on germination, emergence and yield of soybean and maize. The extracts of weed species A. theophrasti prepared with different solutions confirmed the existence of significant allelopathic influence on the percentage of germination of soybean and maize. Ethyl-acetate extract applied in the highest possible concentration caused the highest percentage of soybean germination. Treatments with water and hexanol extracts had a stimulating effect on the length of the underground and over-ground part of soybean germs. Ethyl-acetate extract of weed species A. theophrasti caused the lowest percentage of germination of maize. In other words, it confirmed the strong allelopathic influence of the extract. Dill (Anethum graveolens L.)is an annual herbaceous plant from the Apiaceae family, with characteristic odor coming from an essential oil, whose main components are carvone and limonene. Dill's fruit and leaf, i.e. its aerial parts, are in common use. This plant is widely used for medicinal purposes and as a spice. In addition, it can be used in organic agriculture, chiefly to increase biodiversity by combining it with other crops, or grown as a protective crop. It was also found that allelochemicals produced by dill have herbicidal effect, while essential oil and extracts have fungicidal and insecticidal effect. Moreover, dill is used in animal nutrition as a natural growth promoter.
