For prosthodontic operations to be successful, particularly those involving dental implants and the preservation of alveolar bone, adequate calcium levels are necessary. In order to prevent excessive ridge resorption and maintain the stability and effectiveness of dental prostheses, it is imperative to maintain adequate quantities of calcium through diet or supplementation. Introduction: Emergence of dental implants made the replacement of missing tooth easy. During the early days of introduction, implants were loaded three to six months after implant insertion, but understanding of healing cascade and improved production technology has changed the phase of restoration from delayed to immediate loading. Aim: To evaluate and compare the clinical outcome of immediate and delayed loaded implant supported prosthesis for missing mandibular first molar. The objectives were bleeding on probing, probing depth, implant mobility, marginal bone level and periimplant radiolucency were evaluated during follow up period. Materials and Methods: Twenty patients were included in this study who were in the need of fixed implant supported prosthesis for missing mandibular first molar. Single tooth implant with immediate loading done within two days of implant insertion in one group and another group were loaded after three months of implant insertion. These groups were evaluated clinically and radiographically over a period of 72 months after loading using Wilcoxon matched pairs test and Mann-Whitney U test. Results: The study consists of 14 male and six female patients with the age range of 19 to 31 years. There was no bleeding on probing and probing depth remained well within the normal range even after 72 months of loading among both the groups. Minimal marginal bone loss observed with no mobility and periimplant radiolucency. Conclusion: Implant supported prosthesis for missing mandibular first molar with immediate loading can be used as a successful treatment modality. It reduces treatment time, provides early function and prevents undue migration of adjacent tooth. Immediate loading showed similar clinical and radiographic results as that of delayed loading, indicating it as an equally efficient technique for implant supported prosthesis. The restoration of speech, deglutition, mastication, and respiration in patients with bimaxillary resection involving the maxillae, hard and soft palates, and paranasal sinuses poses a significant challenge. This clinical report describes the prosthodontic management of a patient with bilateral maxillectomy caused due to post-COVID-19 mucormycosis. A patient-specific implants (PSI) that matched the remnants of the zygoma complex was designed to improve the patient's severely impaired speech and swallowing. The patient's postsurgical anatomy was first visualized using three-dimensional computed tomography data. Following that, a customized zygoma-supported titanium framework was designed to support the prosthesis based on the data. Two weeks after the framework was installed, an open-tray impression was made and the prosthesis was fabricated. These findings suggest that PSI-retained prosthesis can be considered in cases with severely compromised maxillary bone anatomy, impaired oral functioning, and no viable conventional reconstruction options. Aim: The present study was to evaluate the space provided for the temporary luting cement, after the application of various coats of die spacers, during the fabrication of provisional crowns and bridges. Materials and Methods: A total of 50 specimens of dental stone with provisional crowns on all these samples were prepared and were divided into five groups based on the application of various coats of different die spacers. Later these specimens were sectioned buccolingually and were observed using a stereomicroscope under 100X magnification. The images thus obtained were evaluated and noted for the amount of space between the inner surface of the provisional crown and the specimens at five different locations using Image Pro 6.0 Express software and the values were subjected to one-way ANOVA test, and unpaired t-test. Results: There was a significant increase of luting space thickness with various die spacer applications than the specimens of control group. Conclusion: Specimens of double coat applications of silver and gold die spacers showed higher luting cement space than the separating media application specimens. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
