A report on the building survey carried out on the upstanding remains of the Formby bombing decoy shelter, carried out by volunteers and staff of CITiZAN. The earth bund which would have offered further protection to the building had a some point after the Second World War been removed and three extra voids cut through the outside of the structure. A large, rectangular void had been cut into the southern wall of both the generator room and crew shelter once the building had been decommissioned as a bombing decoy shelter. It is not possible to say what these voids were for but they may have formed windows. Possibly at the same time as this activity a third void had been cut into the northern wall of the shelter to access the passage between the crew shelter and generator room. It seems likely this void formed a second entrance to the structure.
