Aim: to study the value of routine methods (clinical symptoms, electrophysiological findings and results of DNA analysis) in diagnostics of hereditary motor sensory neuropathy type IA in outpatient clinics. Material and Methods. The review of foreign literature is represented. The phenotypic polymorphism, genetic heterogeneity and the difficulties of diagnostics are identified. A family with hereditary motor sensory neuropathy of lAtype is presented, which was diagnosed on the base of available methods in outpatient practice (clinical symptoms, genealogical method, electro-physiological findings and DNA analysis results). Results. Routine algorithm (consistent valuation of clinical symptoms, neurophysiologic findings and the results of DNA analysis) helped to verify the diagnosis of hereditary motor sensory neuropathy of lAtype in outpatient practice after more than 20 years of the onset of the disease. Conclusion. The neurologists of outpatient clinics and other specialists must be informed about the availability of diagnostics of hereditary diseases of nervous system.

The aim of the article is studying the epidemiological trends of neurosyphilis in Saratov region between 1993 and 2014. Material and methods. The forms of state statistical inquiry in Saratov region have been studied. Results. The incidence of syphilis and increase the incidence of neurosyphilis in Saratov region was confirmed. Late manifest forms were predominant. Conclusion. Neurosyphilis is not a rare disease of the nervous system in Saratov region in the past years. Closer cooperation between neurologists and dermatologists is needed.

For the last decade the clinical fndings of the neurosyphilis had changed. We report a review of literature where the information about the modern picture of the disease is described.

Aim of the study: to evaluate the effciency of detection for HIV-infection in patients of neurological departments of Saratov. Materials and methods. We retrospectively analyzed 25 250 medical histories of patients hospitalized into neurological departments of Saratov hospitals between January 2007 and April 2012. Results. Blood samples of 2010 patients (7,96 %) were tested for the presence of HIV-antibodies. 37 patients were HIV-positive (1,84 % of examined patients and 0,15 % of the total number of patients). Conclusion. Increasing popularity and variety of clinical manifestations of HIV-infection requires the expansion of neurological patients whom serum test for antibodies against HIV is needed.

Цель: определить характер зрительных нарушений у больных латентным сифилисом, оценить возможности исследования зрительных вызванных потенциалов (ЗВП), оптической когерентной томографии (ОКТ) и лазерной конфокальной томографии (ЛКТ) в диагностике и уточнении формы нейросифилиса. Материал и методы. Обследованы 133 больных скрытым сифилисом на предмет выявления признаков поражения нервной системы и органа зрения. Результаты. Рутинное офтальмологическое обследование позволяет обнаружить нарушения зрения у 48 % больных латентным сифилисом. При нейросифилисе наиболее часто встречается ангиопатия сетчатки и первичная атрофия дисков зрительных нервов. Исследование ЗВП, использование ОКТ и ЛКТ позволяют выявлять признаки поражения органа зрения в 66 – 79 % случаев латентного сифилиса, нередко — до появления симптомов и признаков заболевания. Заключение. Офтальмологическое обследование должно быть обязательным не только при установленном диагнозе «нейросифилис», но и во всех случаях латентного сифилиса.

We present modern laboratory methods of syphilis and neurosyphilis diagnostics. The question of verifcation of neurosyphilis form by using methods of neuroimaging and neurophysiology is discussed.

We report the case of young patient, whose cause of death was generalized syphilitic cerebrospinal meningitis. The results of autopsy and histological examination are presented. The possibility of using magnetic resonance imaging to verify the form of neurosyphilis is discussed.

The study involved 1315 patients with various forms of syphilis. In 282 patients neurosyphilis was diagnosed. The detailed description of clinical picture of disease and the results of laboratory studies are given. Questions of tactics of medical examination, modern classification of neurosyphilis forms are discussed. The actions are discussed, allowing to increase probability of a favorable outcome of disease
