The 21st century has started as very challenging period for the whole world. Facing such major challenges require appropriate strategy and tolls to fight them. In that light EU aims to recognize structural weaknesses and employ tools overcome them in foreseeable period. The Commission has adopted a number a documents containing comprehensive strategy for acting in the actual period. Part of such efforts is the concept of smart specialization as a way to achieve main strategy goals. In that frames, national/regional research and innovation strategies for smart specialization (RIS3) are needed to be developed and employed. This paper aims to describe the idea and approach to innovate the curricula and syllabuses at the Faculty of Technical Sciences at University "Mother Tereza" towards taking its part of responsibility to contribute to the UN goals of Sustainable Development. In last improvement of the curricula od different studying programs, the Faculty of Technical Sciences introduced a course "Sustainable development in technology" as basic tool to make sure the students, further engineers, become familiar with one of the most important awareness of humanity regarding periods to come, all shaped in UN Sustainable Development strategy. Due to the fact that Sustainable Development is a mixture of environmental, economic and social aspects of contemporary life, and all of them have deep connections with the technology, no gap between purely technical, economic and social views are allowed any more. Therefore, in front of teaching staff at the Faculty of Technical Sciences is a very important and complex duty to make students aware of the core meaning of Sustainable Development, its relation to their further profession and bring knowledge and skills how to deal with all new challenges. This task, opposite to some basic courses in engineering is much more complex in terms of multidisciplinary and put some new challenges in front of the teaching staff. This comes from the fact that nowadays, and in the future, the role of the engineer has been widened and become more complex, and more interdisciplinary adding more environmental, economic and social aspects. It is important that including of sustainable development knowledge, competences and skills, in engineer portfolio should not be taken as a burden, but chance to contribute to everyone's future. The paper explains the way of the research that was done using the AHP methodology to reveal the indicators that contribute to sustainable development in the food production industry. The concept of sustainable development is based on the general goal that strives to achieve economic and technological development without damaging the environment. The research was developed in the Republic of North Macedonia, concentrated in the region of Tetova and Pollog, where all the relevant institutions with an impact on the development of the industry were interviewed. The Government of the Republic of North Macedonia, through the National Council for Sustainable Development, reaffirms its commitment to the realization of Agenda 2030 of the Organization of United Nations (UN). The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is a method for organizing and analyzing complex decisions, using mathematics and psychology. It was developed by Thomas L. Clocks in the 1970s and has been refined ever since. It contains three parts: the ultimate goal or problem we are trying to solve, all the possible solutions, called alternatives, and the criteria by which you will judge the alternatives. AHP provides a rational framework for the required decision by quantifying its criteria and alternative options and relating those elements to the overall objective. Sustainable transport is one of core parts of sustainable development according to UN strategy. In the area of Western Balkan countries there are a number of specifics and similarities in that light. Relying mostly on road transport, fighting with limited capacities and facing serious challenges related to contemporary traffic means, professionals in this region need to try to contribute to the development of sustainable transport. As a part of wider research by using scientific approach, a number of indicators have been identified and structured in different levels. On a basic level five indicators have been identified: Economic, Social, Environmental, Good governance and planning and Cultural. On other hand, in the context of their capacity to contribute to sustainable transport, five transport means have been taken into consideration: Electric, Plug-in Hybrid, Alternative Fueled, Gasoline Fueled and Diesel Fueled vehicles. By using AHP method, a total of 73 experts from Western Balkan region have been asked to express their view on the capacity of different alternatives of vehicles to contribute to the sustainable transport. This paper shows the results of the research performed and offers a possibility to analyze a number of specific aspects in this area. To survive in today's competitive and changeable marketplace, companies need not only to engage in their products and/or services, but also to focus on the management of the whole supply chain. Effectively managing and balancing the profitability and interconnection of each player and function in the supply chain with including the new trends will improve the overall supply chain as well as individual profit. Logistics are an important function of modern business systems. Consideration of environmental and economic aspects in supply chain design is required to reduce negative impacts on the environment caused by the increasing levels of industrialization. Also, reasons why companies choose to "go green" is that it gives the company a competitive advantage as the customers are demanding now a days that the businesses go green. In this paper, an overview of new trends such reverse logistics and green logistics, as part of green supply chain, is given with analysis of its significance in modern day systems. In order to improve the strength and high-temperature properties of sintered iron, metal matrix iron- Alumina (Al2O3) composite material has been studied. In the present investigation, iron powder added by 0-8 Wgt % Al2O3 powder where selected for the study. Powders where mixed, compacted and subsequently sintered at 1150oC in laboratory tube furnace, under an endo gas atmosphere. Composite material properties were evaluated. The outcome results is that 4 vol % Al2O3 is the optimal percentage of the Alumina to obtain superior properties of the metal matrix composite. The deep drawing die and punch have been designed by using metal matrix composite and experimentally tested. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
