The possibilities and future perspectives of electrochemical deposition of bimetallic compositions and alloys containing Fe, Co, Ni, Cr, W, and Mo are reviewed. The synthesis of two- and three-component materials, as well as compositionally more complex alloys, is considered. The method of synthesizing of materials via electrodeposition from solutions containing metal ions and metalloids is one of the most promising approaches because it is fast, cheap, and it is possible to control the composition of the final product with good precision. Corrosion, catalytic and magnetic properties should be distinguished. Due to these properties, the range of applications for these alloys is very wide. The idea of a correlation between the magnetic and catalytic properties of the iron-triad metal alloys is considered. This should lead to a deeper understanding of the interplay of the properties of electrodeposited alloys. In addition to deposition from aqueous (classical) solvents, the advantages and perspectives of electrochemical deposition from ionic liquids (ILs) and deep eutectic solvents (DES) are briefly discussed. The successful use and development of this method of electrodeposition of alloys, which are quite difficult or impossible to synthesize in classical solvents, has been demonstrated and confirmed. The development of cosmetics with multifunctional biologically active additives of directed action is an area of research. Naftalan oil has a unique complex of therapeutic and cosmetic properties: anti-inflammatory, regenerating, antibacterial, and photoprotective. This work presents the development of cosmetic compositions with liniment of Naftalan oil and the study of their colloidal properties. Liniment of Naftalan oil (Naftin) was included in the formulations of cosmetic compositions—creams, bath foams, and polymer gel. These systems were characterized using a complex of colloidal and sensory methods (organoleptic characteristics, pH measurement, study of rheological properties, foaming, determination of colloidal and thermal stability, and morphology of creams). It was found that the inclusion of liniment of Naftalan oil in the formulation of bath foam increases its foaming ability, and the inclusion in polymer gel leads to a moderate decrease in strength characteristics in optimal concentration range of the active additive that provides uniform application of gel composition. According to optical microscopy, the identity of the facial skin care cream with liniment to the class of multiple emulsions was determined. A pronounced hydrating effect on the skin after applying the cream was revealed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A new film material capable of transforming UV radiation into visible light was obtained from a highly anisometric EuIII complex with organic ligands in a polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) matrix and then structurally characterized. An important advantage of the synthesized complex is its good solubility in organic solvents such as dichloromethane, chloroform, THF, toluene, etc. The ligand environment (flexible alkyl and cyclohexyl substituents) of the EuIII complex was selected to prevent crystallization, to inhibit the formation of defects in the structure of films and to provide its uniform distribution in the polymer during polymerization. As a result we obtain an EuIII complex of the film with remarkable thermal behavior: the complex melts to isotropic liquid without decomposition, it supercools at ambient temperature and it forms a stable amorphous material at low (up to −30°C) temperatures. The films were prepared by two methods: bulk polymerization and spin coating. A comparison of the differences of luminescent and optical characteristics of micro‐ and nanosized PMMA films doped with the anisometric EuIII complex is given. Based on X‐ray powder diffraction and small‐angle scattering data, it has been supposed that the association of EuIII complex molecules occurs in the voids of the PMMA matrix and is accompanied by the formation of a nanocrystalline phase. For films obtained by spin coating, a deeper microphase separation is demonstrated than by bulk polymerization. The dimensional characteristics of the nano‐associates were determined and a correlation between the method of preparation and the type of distribution of the EuIII complex in the PMMA matrix is established.
