Based on a variety of primary sources including recently declassified documents, interviews in Cameroon, letters, and Peace Corps Volunteers’ personal correspondence, this study examines the service of the US Peace Corps in “Agroforestry” and “Small Enterprise Development” in Cameroon. The study argues that Volunteers were ill trained, ill prepared, and ill equipped for service in Cameroon, and as a result did not achieve Goal 1 of the Peace Corps Act, which calls on the agency to assist developing nations in gaining “trained manpower”. The study has broader implications, as it raises questions about the relevance of Peace Corps-like organizations in Cameroon, and in African nations as a whole. It focuses on Cameroon for a variety of reasons, among which is that Cameroon is one of only three nations in Africa in which Volunteers have served uninterruptedly since 1962. Dieser Beitrag untersucht die Entwicklungshilfepraxis des US Peace Corps in Kamerun in den Bereichen Agroforstwirtschaft und Kleinunternehmen. Er basiert auf Primärquellen, wie erst kürzlich freigegebenen Dokumenten, privaten Korrespondenzen der Entwicklungshelfer ("Volunteers") und Interviews in Kamerun. Der Autor kommt zu dem Schluss, dass die fachliche Qualifikation der Peace-Corps-Entwicklungshelfer nicht angemessen war und dass sie auf ihre Aufgaben in Kamerun schlecht vorbereitet und nur unzureichend ausgerüstet wurden. Aus diesem Grund sei das vorrangige Ziel des Peace Corps - Entwicklungsländer bei der Ausbildung von Arbeitskräften zu unterstützen - gar nicht zu erreichen gewesen. Er stellt darüber hinaus die Frage nach der Relevanz entsprechender Organisationen in Kamerun und in Afrika generell. Der Beitrag konzentriert sich unter anderem deshalb auf Kamerun, weil dies eines der drei Länder Afrikas ist, in denen seit 1962 ununterbrochen Entwicklungshelfer des Peace Corps gearbeitet haben.

However, developing a content strategy for a small business means coping with specific limitations, such as budget, time, and knowledge. Also, project scope and deliverables must be scaled down. This thesis is one step towards a model for a content strategy for small businesses, using a case study. The study is for a hairdressing salon in London, UK. The purpose of a content strategy is to create a content system to solve a business problem or reach a business goal. The strategy begins with a common core process, followed by processes specific to the problems or goals to be addressed. In this case study, the business goal to be achieved is to increase profitability by attracting new customers. The strategy focuses on consistent messaging based on the brand in order to build trust and relationships with potential customers, and to retain existing customers. Recommendations are very important in the decision-making process for potential customers and online communication should support recommendations. The content strategy spanned a number of content areas. The company website needed to be improved to provide helpful content and to attract potential customers. The role of social media was a significant consideration, as were the time resources needed to maintain social channels. Two key social media channels were chosen to maintain a dialogue with potential and existing customers. The focus of the salon’s communication is to make customers feel welcome in the salon. This welcome feeling must extend to any media used, such as Facebook, Instagram, and the website. As with many small businesses, the responsibility for implementing the strategy lies with the business. It becomes incumbent upon the content strategist to deliver a detailed roadmap and implementation plan, along with detailed maintenance activities. This increases the likelihood that the small business owner will be able to carry out the plan and reap the long-term benefits of the strategy. In some ways, the structure of small businesses allows content strategists to provide more support - for example, turning implicit goals, processes and responsibilities into an explicit plan. This allows small businesses to see the impact in an immediate and tangible way. Recognising that limits in time and budget are the biggest constraints to implementing a content strategy also creates the opportunity to adapt the processes to meet that challenge. V diplomski nalogi smo sprva predstavili motivacijske teorije in motivacijo za izobraževanje umestili med različne človekove potrebe. Seznanili smo se z motivacijskimi teorijami, ki so jih tekom zgodovine razvili različni strokovnjaki s področja sociologije in ki vsaka na svoj način opredeljujejo pojem motivacije. Med drugimi so se s svojimi raziskavami v zgodovino zapisali Maslow, Herzberg in Fromm, čigar teorije so še dandanes temelj marsikateri motivacijski aktivnosti. Njihove teorije temeljijo na motivacijskih aktivnostih, ki so gonilo pri zadovoljevanju različnih človeških potreb. Motivacijo za izobraževanje na podlagi navedenih raziskav uvrščamo med višje oz. psihološke človekove potrebe, ki nastopijo po zadovoljitvi nižjih ali fizioloških potreb. Sprva smo s pomočjo intervjuja z vodstvom podjetja predstavili obstoječe stanje direktnega uvajanja novih kadrov na tipičen način, ki se pojavlja v majhnih podjetjih, namreč, da vodstvo samo prenese potrebno znanje na zaposlenega. Ugotovili smo, da se podjetje Mekotnjak agro, Mekotnjak d.o.o. spopada s prenekatero težavo, povezano s kadrom. Kot najbolj moteče dejavnike smo izpostavili pomanjkanje komunikacijskih sposobnosti, slabo znanje tujih jezikov, slabo poznavanje tehnologije in programske opreme, strah pred neznanimi situacijami itd. Ugotovili smo tudi, da vodstvo v glavnem ugotavlja pomanjkanje težnje k samoizpopolnitvi in pridobivanju novega znanja pri zaposlenih. V raziskovalnem delu smo izvedli intervjuje s štirimi zaposlenimi omenjenega podjetja ter preko odgovorov na zastavljena vprašanja dobili odgovore, ki kažejo na zaznavanje pomanjkanja motivacije za izobraževanje s strani vodstva. Glede na zaznani konflikt interesov smo vodstvu podali možne rešitve za izboljšanje stanja v podjetju. Im laufe der Geschichte haben verschiedene Wissenschaftler auf dem Gebiet der Soziologie Theorien entwickelt, die jede auf ihre eigene Art den Begriff der Motivation definiert. Unter anderen gingen Maslow, Herzberg und Fromm in die Geschichte ein, deren Theorien noch heutzutage das Fundament für verschiedene Motivationsaktivitäten liefern. Ihre Theorien basieren auf Motivationsaktivitäten, die als Antrieb bei der Befriedigung verschiedener Menschlicher Bedürfnisse dienen. Die Motivation zur Ausbildung auf Grund der angegebenen Studien ordnen wir den höheren bzw. psychologischen Bedürfnissen zu, die bei der Befriedigung der niederen bzw. physiologischen Bedürfnisse auftretten. Die Motivation zur Ausbildung in kleineren Unternehmen scheint auf den ersten Blick einfach, dem ist aber nicht immer so. Bei der Arbeit mit verschiedenen Menschen benötigt jede Organisation einen gut durchdachten Ansatz mit dem sie ihre Angestellten zur Selbsterfüllung motivieren kann. Die persönliche Herangehensweise der Leitung und die Darstellung der Ideolodie bezüglich der Arbeit im Unternehmen genügt jedoch nicht immer um die Angestellten genug zu motivieren. Die Leitung der Unternehmen muss sich verschiedener Ansätze bedienen mit denen sie ihre Angestellten zur weiteren Ausbildung motivieren kann, was am Ende sowohl dem Unternehmen als auch dem Einzelnen auf deren weiterem Geschäftsweg von Vorteil wäre. Das Gehalt ist einer der Hauptgründe warum Angestellte zur Arbeit kommen. Ein Lohnzuschlag oder die Finanzierung einer Ausbildung würde zweifellos die Angestellten dazu anregen neues Wissen zu erwerben und damit ihre Kompetenzen zu verbessern.

Informationstechnologien in modernen wirtschaftlichen Umständen werden immer mehr Kommnukationstechnologien die die Realisierung der dynamischen distribuierten Systeme ermöglichen. Die globalen Trends, ohne Rücksicht wie viel sie positiv oder negativ sind, können wesentlich mit Inhaltsaustausch realisiert werden, und zwar mit Austausch des Gesamtinhalts, der im Kommunikationssystem erreichbar ist, und den jedes von Organisationssubjekten auf beliebige Art (wie, wann und wie viel er will) benutzen kann. In der Republik Kroatien wurde eine Forschung über verfügbare Technologie und deren Benutzungsweise bei den Subjekten im Tourismus durchgeführt. Auf Grund des Resultats dieser Forschung wurde ein Aufbaumodell des Informationssystems in Tourismus vorgeschlagen. Im Falle dass bei jedem einzelnen touristischen Subjekt ein im Prinzip offenes System realisiert würde, d.h. dass jeder Benutzer, der dem Informationssystem und der Promotionsseite von einem Subjekt zugeht, gleichzeitig auch einen Vorbehalt realisieren, Zahlungsweise wählen, sogar mit elektronischem Geld zahle, begleitende Inhalte, die zur Zeit seines Aufenthalts veranstaltet werden, buchen, sich für Verkehrsmittel entscheiden und sie reservieren könnte, dann könnte auch jedes touristische Subjekt Informations - und Internettechnologien benutzend, alle diese laufende Geschäfte 24 Stunden täglich und 365 Tage jährlich errichten.
