© 2022 Elsevier LtdIn the automotive industry, decentralized in-house logistic areas called supermarkets are used for parts feeding to mixed-model assembly lines. In the literature, generally, the number of supermarkets and their locations are determined according to a previously balanced assembly line. As a result, supermarket locations have to be completely dependent on the line balance. There may be more than one solution that gives the same performance criterion value in the line balancing. Among these alternative solutions, it is more reasonable to use a solution that provides lower logistics costs than others. For this purpose, in this study, the mixed-model assembly line balancing problem and the supermarket location problem are considered simultaneously. Accordingly, in order to minimize the total costs of the assembly line and supermarkets, a mixed-integer mathematical model is developed, and the developed model is solved by using constraint programming (CP). In addition, a new approach based on Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) and Simulated Annealing (SA) is presented for large-sized problems. An illustrative example problem is solved using both the developed model and the proposed algorithm. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is tested through a new data set of test problems presented to the literature for a computational experiment. The experimental results show that the total costs are reduced meaningfully and a more realistic and applicable structure is achieved by the proposed approach.

In recent years, the major component of green building designs adopted by governments in order to reduce CO2 emissions as well as energy consumption is the green building envelope. The green envelope has the most important share in terms of thermal energy consumption, environment, and indoor comfort criteria. Determining the most suitable building envelope combination in the building life cycle is an important problem for designers. This study presents a new multi-objective approach that determines the most suitable green envelope designs for the buildings in different climate and earthquake zones, taking into account CO2 emissions, heating/cooling energy consumption, and material cost in terms of life cycle cost analysis. To this end, EnergyPlus building performance simulation program, artificial neural network (ANN), and genetic algorithm are used together. After the heating and cooling energy consumption, CO2 emissions, and material cost values are obtained for a certain number of the envelope alternatives with the EnergyPlus, ANN models that learn the working mechanism of EnergyPlus are trained according to these values. An ANN-based genetic algorithm procedure is developed to search the whole envelope alternative space by using the trained ANN models with EnergyPlus. The proposed approach allows searching in a very short time the whole alternative space, which is almost impossible to scan with EnergyPlus by reducing the time spent and the number of alternatives required for the design and simulation processes of the green building envelope. The proposed approach is performed for a design-stage city hospital structure in Turkey. Window type, the internal/external plaster, wall, and insulation materials along with the thicknesses of these materials, which consist of 46 different variables, are determined as envelope attributes for four different climate and seismic zones. The green building envelope designs obtained with the proposed approach are entered into EnergyPlus and the consistency of the results is compared. ANN models with an average accuracy of over 97% are developed. Without the CO2 emission cost in the life cycle cost, the mean absolute percent error (MAPE) values for each region are 0.67%, 0.6%, 0.58%, and 1.78%, respectively. With the CO2 emission cost in life cycle cost, the MAPE values for each region are 0.96%, 0.88%, 0.86%, and 0.43%, respectively. According to the obtained results, there is a consistency of over 99% between EnergyPlus and the proposed approach.

Çalışmada yer alan firma, veri ambarında müşteri davranışlarıyla ilgili çağrı detayları, fatura bilgisi, müşteri demografik özellikleri gibi çok miktarda veri toplamıştır. Bu verilerin boyutu, manuel analizin mümkün olmadığı kadar büyüktür. Bununla birlikte; bu veriler operasyonel ve stratejik amaçlar için uygulanabilecek değerli bilgileri barındırmaktadır. Bu verilerden anlamlı bilgi çıkarmak için gelişmiş veri madenciliği teknikleri gereklidir. Bu çalışmada, PSO tabanlı kümeleme tekniği ve DB uygunluk fonksiyonu ile müşteri segmentleri belirlenmiştir. Understanding the preferences,shopping attitudes and price sensitivities of different customer groups is veryimportant in terms of the direction of marketing activities. In this case,customer segmentation is used to select the appropriate customer groups in thetarget market. In this study, customer segmentation was applied to one of theTurkey's top 100 telecommunication companies. The company involved in the studycollects a lot of data on customer behaviors such as call details, billinginformation, customer demographics, etc. in the data warehouse. The size ofthis data is so large that manual analysis is not possible. However, these datacontain valuable information that can be applied for operational and strategicpurposes. Advanced data mining techniques are required to obtain meaningfulinformation from these data. In this study, customer segments were identifiedwith PSO-based clustering technique and DB fitness function.

Murata Vortex Eğirme (MVS) en umut verici yeni nesil hava jetli eğirme teknolojilerinden biri olarak kabul edilmektedir. Nihaiiplik özelliklerini etkileyen optimum MVS makine parametresi seçimi tekstil sektöründe zor ve karmaşık bir görevdir. Bu çalışmada,MVS pamuk ipliği için, mümkün olan alternatifler arasından optimum düze basıncı ve üretim hızını seçmek için Multi-ObjectiveOptimization on the Basis of Ratio Analysis (MOORA) tabanlı Taguchi yaklaşımı önerilmiştir. Bu parametrelerin performansları, bumethod kullanılarak eğrilmiş MVS ipliklerinin yedi kalite karakteristiğine dayandırılarak değerlendirilmiştir., Murata Vortex Spinner (MVS) is accepted as one of the most promising new generation air jet spinning technology. Selection ofoptimum MVS machine parameter which affects properties of the final yarn is difficult and complex task in textile industry. This studyproposes the Multi-Objective Optimization on the Basis of Ratio Analysis (MOORA) - based Taguchi approach to select optimumnozzle pressure and delivery speed among available alternatives for cotton MVS yarn. The performances of these parameters areevaluated based on seven quality characteristics of MVS spun yarn using this method.

Ergonomi bilimi çalışanların sağlığının korunması ve iş verimliliğinin arttırılması amacına yönelik olarak her geçen gün etki alanını genişleten multi-disipliner bir alandır. Teknolojinin sunduğu imkanlar bu etki alanını genişletmesine ve yeni çalışma alanlarının oluşmasına katkı sağlamaktadır. Günümüz dünyasında insanlar gelişen teknolojiler yardımıyla bedeni çalışmalarını oldukça azaltmışlardır. Ancak bunun yanında kullanmak zorunda oldukları yeni cihazlar onlardan daha fazla bilişsel bir aktivite beklemektedirler. Ergonomi bilimi burada insan-makine sistemlerinin uyumu için bir alt dal olarak bilişsel ergonomi alt dalını bünyesinden çıkarmıştır. Bilişsel ergonomi temel olarak bir cihazın göstergeleriyle insanlara bir şey anlatması, insanın bunu algılaması, değerlendirmesi ve bir cevap oluşturarak bunu cihaz üzerindeki denetim elemanlarıyla cihaza aktarması, kısacası insanla makine arasında etkin bir iletişim sağlanmasını amaçlamaktadır. Peki bilişsel ergonomi alanındaki uygulamaların başarısını nasıl ölçeceğiz? Farklı tasarlanmış cihazlar ergonomiklik yönden karşılaştırırken kullanılan geliştirilmiş prosedürler veya deneme- yanılma metotları haricinde başka yöntemler yok mudur? İşte burada yine teknoloji bize yepyeni bir alanı hediye etmiştir; Nöroergonomi. Bu alan insanın algılama, değerlendirme, karar verme ve uygulama (motor cevap oluşturma) gibi aktiviteleri esnasında beynindeki değişimlerin ölçümlenmesi suretiyle insan-makine sistemi arasındaki uyumun veya insanların belirli işlere uygunluğunun değerlendirilmesi faaliyetlerinde kullanılır. Bu çalışmada nöroergonomi konusunda kullanılan yöntemler ve literatürde yapılmış olan temel çalışmalar üzerinden nöroergonominin uygulama alanlarına değinilmiştir.

In decision-making in some cases decision makers cannot or do not want to specify preferences with the exact values. To decide with these stochastic data Stochastic Multi-Criteria Acceptability Analysis (SMAA) is an effectively implemented decision support tool. Grey Relational Analysis (GRA) which is working only with deterministic data, is an alternative and a popular method for multi criteria decision making problem. In this study, two new methods SMAA-GRA and SMAA-DEMATEL-GRA are proposed: combination of SMAA-2 and GRA methods and also combination of SMAA-2 and DEMATEL-GRA. The aim of the article is to provide GRA cope with vague and imprecise data in other words, to establish stochastic GRA. And also with DEMATEL we can take into account relationship criteria with each other in decision making process. The proposed methods are applied to both drug benefit risk analysis problem in literature and a real life problem. The study shows that SMAA-GRA and SMAA-DEMATEL-GRA whose results are significant and consistent GRA and DEMATEL methods could be used with ambiguous and arbitrarily distributed data for weights and criteria measurements.

Gebelerde amniyon sıvısı indeksi fetal iyilik halinin kronik bir belirtecidir ve gebelik takiplerinde amniyon sıvısı miktarı ultrasonografi görüntülerinden hesaplanmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı 2-D ultrasonografi görüntülerinde amniyon sıvısı alanlarının belirginleştirilip hacminin daha net ve kolay ölçülmesine yardımcı olacak bir yöntem geliştirmektir. Bu işlem sağlıklı 39 hafta gebeden alınan ultrasonografi görüntüsünde görüntü segmentasyon ve kenar sezme yöntemleri ile yapılmıştır., Amniotic fluid index in pregnant women is an indicator of fetal well-being and during pregnancy follow-up the amount of amniotic fluid is calculated from ultrasound images.
