The Supreme Court of Nepal is the highest court in Nepal. The Supreme Court of Nepal is an important building, built of brick in mud masonry structure and over 54 years of age which got moderate structural damage due to the recent Gorkha earthquake 2015. The need for safety of the building lying at high seismic zone in Nepal, the Seismic Vulnerability Assessment and Retrofit design was carried out to improve the building response in future earthquakes. The seismic vulnerability of the building was assessed after the following:(a) historical investigation about the building, (b) detailed geometrical investigation, (c) identification of materials by means of surveys and literature indications, (d) Detailed Intrusive Tests, (f) Detail linear static analysis of the building by means of a Finite Element (FE) model. After these steps, the FE model was used to assess the safety level of the building by means of linear static analyses and identifying a proper retrofitting strategy for this building. Both side wall jacketing and splint and bandage in some inner walls using the bar wire mesh was carried out for retrofitting this building.

Dye pollution is becoming more and more of a worry for the environment. Dye removal from the environment is necessary because dye disposal in water resources has detrimental aesthetic and health implications. A well-known technology for all fibers, textiles, and apparel in the wet processing of textiles is the textile printing branch. When printing, colors are applied to specific areas of the fabric rather than the entire piece. Since the Stone Age, natural colorants derived from ores, insects, plants, and animals have been employed. Despite having a dangerous impact on people, animals, and the environment, synthetic dyes, which replaced natural pigments in the middle of the 19th century, continue to dominate the market to the fullest extent. Bacterial pigments provide intriguing alternatives to synthetic pigments for a variety of uses because they degrade more quickly and are more environmentally friendly. A few bacterial pigments can currently be produced by the industry for use in food, medicine, cosmetics, and textiles. The key technological problem is the extraction of bacterial pigments in reasonably pure and concentrated forms. Due to the growing consumer desire for more natural products, there has been an increasing tendency in recent decades to replace synthetic colorants with natural pigments. In many aspects of daily life, including food production, the textile and paper industries, agricultural practices and research, and water science and technology, natural pigments and synthetic colors are widely employed. Natural pigments exhibit advantageous biological properties as antioxidants and anticancer agents in addition to their capability to boost the marketability of items. &nbsp

Saturated fatty acids, whose circulating levels are markedly increased in the body, significantly affect the growth and functions of skeletal muscle. These fatty acids may exert a detrimental effect on the undifferentiated skeletal myoblasts that may adversely affect their differentiation. In the present study, the exposure of myoblasts to excess palmitic acid caused an elevation of tumor necrosis factor-α expression and an increase in reactive oxygen species levels consistent with the enhanced inflammation and oxidative stress. Various concentrations of palmitic acid significantly decreased the mitochondrial membrane potential, induced the programmed cell death by an increase in the caspase-3 expression, and DNA fragmentation in the myoblasts. These findings suggest that the increased concentrations of saturated fatty acid in the myoblasts increase lipotoxicity by increasing inflammation and oxidative stress, decreasing the mitochondrial function, and inducing apoptosis.
