The Caravan Farm Theatre in the Salmon River Valley northwest of Armstrong, British Columbia, has presented productions informed by the tenets of anarchism since the 1970s. Caravan breaks down traditional categories of hierarchy and theatrical roles in a spontaneous expression of performance energy.

Samuel Beckett's '... but the clouds...' depicts the interaction between words and images and verbally and visually alludes to W.B. Yeats's poem 'The Tower.' LikeBeckett's earlier television plays, this play explores the use of language, itscomplexities and what can or cannot be said. The concept of self dualism that results in the paradox of consciousness and being is expressed by the relationship between a voice and a man. Beckett succeeds in depicting the momentary unification of consciousness until the distinction between being and non-being returns.
