The increasing complexity of the world reinforces the urgent need for rethinking project management. Large research and innovation projects today must meet expectations of increased efficiency, deliver faster results, and challenge us to think differently. This study aimed to explore how an agile hybrid methodology unfolded over time in a large EU-funded research and innovation project and how value was created. We found that, implementation of agile practices in large research and innovation projects is beneficial, as it helps to shift the focus from producing deliverables to creating value. Further, agile practices contribute to increased impact and early value creation for those involved. However, project management practices can be understood quite differently across project types and should consequently be implemented according to the characteristics of the local context. There is currently a need for further research in this field, and data will be continuously collected throughout the rest of the four-year project period.

Endometriosis affects an estimated 200 million people worldwide. Despite its prevalence, those living with the disease often wait an average of 7.5 years between start of symptoms and diagnosis. This delay is due to a variety of reasons, including medical dismissal, a low prioritization of the condition and its overall misrepresentation in research funding, policy and media.Although often represented as a women’s reproductive disease, endometriosis also appears in people who have had hysterectomies, transgender men, genderfluid and non-binary people, pre-menstrual and post-menopausal people, and in rare cases, cisgender men.Its symptoms commonly include pain with menstruation, as well as chronic pain, infertility, pain with sexual intercourse, fatigue and more. Despite this full-body impact on one’s quality of life, endometriosis is commonly associated with just having “bad periods.”We are four authors from three countries looking at different aspects of endometriosis diagnosis, awareness and patient advocacy. This article emerges from a joint online presentation of our research looking at potential ways to improve awareness and patient care, and promote faster diagnosis.Our methods include social scientific and qualitative research including interviews, surveys, focus groups, participant observations and collaborations with people living with endometriosis. We identified some clear changes that are needed to promote awareness of the disease, and subsequently reduce diagnostic timelines.

WONCA Europes netværk for kvalitetsudvikling og patientsikkerhed (EQuiP) har meldt markant ud vedrørende brugen af kvalitetsindikatorer. Privatlivet skal respekteres, og kvalitetsindikatorer kan kun bruges i begrænset omfang i internt kvalitetsudviklingsarbejde og da ikke som et direkte mål for kvalitet. Væsentligt er det, at der ikke kan påvises nogen nytte af at bruge kvalitetsindikatorer til at honorere ydelser efter.

1991 yılında kurulan Avrupa Aile Hekimliği Kalite ve Hasta Güvenliği Derneği (EQuiP), WONCA Avrupa Kalite Geliştirme ve Hasta Güvenliği Ağıdır. Genel pratisyenlik akademik birimleri işbirliğinde aile hekimliği uygulamasında kalite geliştirmeye yönelik araçlar ve yöntemler geliştirmek amacıyla kurulmuştur. 2016 yılı EQuiP’in 25. yıldönümünü olması nedeniyle tanıtım ve faaliyetlerin değerlendirilmesi açısından fırsat olarak görülmüştür. EQuiP'in tarihi; Ürün aşaması (1991-2006), Yansıma aşaması (2006-2011) ve Ağ oluşturma aşaması (2011-şimdi) olarak üç ana aşamada incelenmiştir. Birinci aşama 1991’den 2006 yılına kadar devam etmiştir. Bu aşamada ana ilgi odağı birinci basamak sağlık hizmetlerinde kalite geliştirme ve değerlendirme için ‘herkese uyan tek beden’ araçlar geliştirmekti. Yansıma dönemi 2006-2011 yılları arasında gerçekleşmiştir. Bu dönemde kalite geliştirme, sağlık sistemleri için karar verme ve planlamada, uygulamanın değişiminde gerekli olan yöntemlere yönelik geliştirilen bireysel araçlar ve bireysel yaklaşımlara odaklanılmıştır. Ağ oluşturma aşaması Nisan 2011'de başlamış ve halen devam etmektedir. Bu dönemin odak noktası, ürünler yerine paydaşların ve ağların iş birliği ve katılımıdır. EQuip bu amaçlar doğrultusunda halen pek çok çalışma yürütmektedir., The European Society for Quality and Safety in Family Practice (EQuiP)is WONCA Europe's network for Quality Improvement and Patient Safety. It hasformally been in service since 1991, with the aim of developing tools and methods for qualityimprovement in general practice in collaboration with GP research institutions. In 2016, EQuiP is celebrating its 25th Anniversary, whichdemonstrates an appropriate occasion for contemplating and commenting on thecurrent quality and patient safety developments in the europe context of primary care. Theorganisational history of EQuiP can be divided into three major phases: Product phase (1991-2006), Reflecting phase (2006-2011) and Networkingphase (2011-now). The firstphase lasted from 1991-2006, and the main interest was to develop 'one sizefits all' tools to assess and improve quality in primary health care. The intermediate phase was from 2006-2011, where the focus for qualitydevelopment switched from individual tools and an individualistic approach fordecision making to health care systems and methods for planning andimplementing change. The latest phase started in April 2011 and is stillongoing. During this period, the focal point shifted towards collaboration andinvolvement of stakeholders and networks rather than products.

EQuiP ist Teil des Netzwerkes von Wonca Europe. Das Netzwerk wurde 1991 gegründet und setzt sich seit 25 Jahren mit Themen der Qualitätsförderung und Pa­tienten­sicherheit auseinander. Dieser Artikel bietet eine Übersicht der Entwicklung von wichtigen Werkzeugen, Methoden, Produkten und Forschungsprojekten rund um das Thema Qualität im Spannungsfeld zwischen Qualitätskontrolle und Qualitätsförderung. Es geht dabei um die Auseinandersetzung zwischen einer statischen Qualitätskontrolle und einem dynamischen Prozess der Qualitätsförderung.
