The aim of the present study was to identify profiles of elite athlete mental well- and ill-being and study how the profiles (i.e., subgroups of athletes) differed in sport-related demands and resources. A total of 259 Finnish elite athletes (n = 170 active and n = 89 retired) completed quantitative self-report inventories. Through cluster analysis, four profiles of mental well- and ill-being were identified. Profile 1 was overrepresented by retired, older, and male athletes, and characterized by good mental well-being. Profile 2 consisted mainly of active athletes who reported mild risk for alcohol abuse. Profile 3 consisted mainly of women who displayed possible presence of an eating disorder. Profile 4 was typical of young athletes with mental ill-being. The balance between sport-related demands and resources appeared to be the healthiest in Profile 1 and worst in Profile 4. The aim of this research was to study the prevalence of nonaccidental violence among elite athletes in Finland, the predisposing factors to violence, and its consequences for mental well-being and ill-being. A total of 2,045 Finnish athletes participated in the study. Logistic and linear regression analyses were used to analyze the associations. The results indicated that 38.8% had experienced psychological abuse, 14.7% bullying, 13.3% gender-based harassment, and 5.5% sexual harassment. Female and younger athletes reported more violent experiences than male and older athletes. A team's safe atmosphere and readiness to act protected athletes from nonaccidental violence, whereas the coach did not play a role. Nonaccidental violence, particularly psychological abuse, was associated with reduced mental well-being and increased ill-being. Our results suggest that it is worth investing in the team's mutual relationships and safe cooperation when ensuring appropriate behavior and preventing nonaccidental violence among athletes. Licensed practical nurses (LPNs) are the second largest occupational group and the largest group in the social and healthcare sector in Finland, and they have an extensive working environment. Like other health and social care professionals, LPNs also use health information systems (HIS) and client information systems (CIS) in their daily work. The aim of this study was to describe LPNs' perceptions of the benefits of information systems in daily patient care. The information systems include the main HIS or CIS that the respondents mainly use in their work. The data comprised 3 866 LPNs' responses were collected via an online survey in 2022. Most of the LPNs work in social care using the Lifecare system. ESKO is used in public health care and was rated as the most popular system that LPNs use regarding the benefits of information systems. Nurses use electronic information systems daily, and digital devices have been developed to enable patient to live at home as long as possible. This study aimed to test reverse mentoring for professionals working with digital tools in home care. An electronic survey was sent twice to nurses to collect their opinions about the tools they use. Based on the results from the first survey (N=184), the mentoring content focused on the use of information systems and digital tools. Respondents' experiences as information system users were more abundant than their experiences as digital tool users. Tools supporting independent living were seldom used, but safety devices and alarm monitoring were used daily. The mentoring meetings induced changes and encouraged participants to acquire skills related to the use of digital tools and to evaluate their work critically. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

We investigated school psychologists' experiences of ethical strain (the frequency of ethical dilemmas at work and the stress caused by these dilemmas) and dilemma-related rumination outside working hours. Individual latent profiles were estimated at the study baseline based on these three dimensions. The psychologists' weekly well-being (vigor, exhaustion, and sleep quality) was compared against their profile during the following three working weeks. The sample included 133 school psychologists, among whom four groups were identified: Low ruminators (39%), an Intermediate group (39%), High ruminators (20%), and Atypical outliers (2%). High ruminators fared least well in terms of weekly well-being. Of all the groups, they reported the lowest levels of vigor, the highest levels of exhaustion, and the lowest sleep quality. The study contributes to understanding how psychologists differ in their experiences of ethical strain, and highlights the role of ruminating: mental detachment from ethical demands is especially important for school psychologists' well-being.
