Cervical cancer, which is mainly caused by oncogenic human papillomavirus subtypes, remains a significant global health challenge. Recent studies have indicated a connection between cervical cancer and the uterine microbiome, underscoring its importance. This study explored the potential of liquid-based cytology (LBC) samples, which are typically used for cytological analysis, in investigating the cervical microbiome. Thirty women participated in the study and provided clinical information. Three samples were obtained from each participant: one for clinical purposes using LBC, another for microbiome sampling using LBC, and a third using the SWAB Microbiome kit. The LBC and traditional swab (SWAB) samples were subjected to high-throughput 16S rRNA gene sequencing for microbiome analysis. The results revealed a consistent dominance of key taxa, particularly Lactobacillus spp. The analysis of differential abundance highlighted variations in microbial abundance among individuals, which were more prominent than those resulting from the sampling methods. Functional analysis identified arachidonic acid and alpha-linolenic acid metabolism, along with a cautionary note regarding the low mean proportion values. The network analysis revealed positive correlations between indicators of structure among the networks, highlighting the robustness of microbiome similarities despite the diversity of sampling methods. Supervised machine learning has revealed challenges in distinguishing LBC and SWAB samples based on their microbiome features. Weighted co-expression network analysis revealed that the correlation between microbial clusters and the sampling method with clinical data was not significant. This study emphasizes the similarity in microbial communities observed using the LBC and SWAB methods, highlighting the potential of using dual diagnostic approaches. During recovery from septic shock, circulating mitochondrial N -formyl peptides predispose to secondary infection by occupying formyl peptide receptor 1 on the neutrophil (polymorphonuclear leukocyte) membrane, suppressing cytosolic calcium ([Ca2+]i)-dependent responses to secondarily encountered bacteria. However, no study has yet investigated therapeutic clearance of circulating mitochondrial N -formyl peptides in clinical settings. Thus, we studied how to remove mitochondrial N -formyl peptides from septic-shock plasma and whether such removal could preserve cell-surface formyl peptide receptor 1 and restore sepsis-induced polymorphonuclear leukocyte dysfunction by normalizing [Ca2+]i flux. In in vitro model systems, mitochondrial N -formyl peptide removal rescued polymorphonuclear leukocyte formyl peptide receptor 1-mediated [Ca2+]i flux and chemotaxis that had been suppressed by prior mitochondrial N -formyl peptide exposure. However, polymorphonuclear leukocyte functional recovery occurred in a stepwise fashion over 30 to 90 min. Intracellular Ca2+-calmodulin appears to contribute to this delay. In ex vivo model, systems using blood samples obtained from patients with septic shock, antimitochondrial N -formyl peptide antibodies alone failed to eliminate mitochondrial N -formyl peptides from septic-shock plasma or inhibit mitochondrial N -formyl peptide activity. We therefore created a beads-based antimitochondrial N -formyl peptide antibody cocktail by combining protein A/sepharose with antibodies specific for the most potent human mitochondrial N -formyl peptide chemoattractants. The beads-based antimitochondrial N -formyl peptide antibody cocktail treatment successfully removed those active mitochondrial N -formyl peptides from septic-shock plasma. Furthermore, the beads-based antimitochondrial N -formyl peptide antibody cocktail treatment significantly restored chemotactic and bactericidal dysfunction of polymorphonuclear leukocytes obtained from patients with septic shock who developed secondary infections. By clearing circulating mitochondrial N -formyl peptides, the immobilized antimitochondrial N -formyl peptide antibody therapy prevented mitochondrial N -formyl peptide interactions with surface formyl peptide receptor 1, thereby restoring [Ca2+]i-dependent polymorphonuclear leukocyte antimicrobial function in clinical septic-shock environments. The COVID-19 pandemic has necessitated profound changes in the business and technology landscapes, compelling organizations to reassess their Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Traditional ERP systems have demonstrated significant limitations in agility, scalability, and resilience, prompting a strategic shift towards cloud-based ERP solutions. This systematic literature review (SLR) aims to critically evaluate the transformation of ERP systems through the adoption of Microservice Architecture (MSA) and the integration of Managed Service Providers (MSPs), highlighting their role in enhancing system flexibility and operational continuity in a post-pandemic world. We conducted a systematic analysis of 124 scholarly articles published since 2010 to compare traditional ERP systems with MSA-based Cloud ERP solutions. Key insights reveal that MSA significantly improves system modularity and adaptability, addressing the shortcomings of monolithic architectures. Additionally, MSPs offer crucial support in managing the complexities of cloud transitions, ensuring security and efficiency. Our findings underscore the importance of a holistic approach to ERP modernization, integrating technological advancements with strategic business objectives. This study not only fills a critical gap in the literature but also provides actionable recommendations for practitioners and policymakers aiming to enhance ERP systems' resilience and agility. Considering the prevalent information asymmetry in housing markets, this study demonstrates the predictive power of homebuyers' geographic proximity on housing prices. At the ZIP‐code level, a 10‐percentage‐point increase in the fraction of local buyers corresponds to a 1.1‐percentage‐point higher housing price growth over the subsequent 2 years. At the individual level, out‐of‐town buyers experience a 0.64‐percentage‐point lower annual return compared to local buyers within a county. These results not only highlight the significant information advantages enjoyed by geographically proximate buyers, but also imply that informationally privileged buyers' revealed preferences for specific locations could provide informationally disadvantaged buyers with hints about which areas are likely to experience higher housing price growth in the near future. Ammonia can be directly utilized in solid oxide fuel cells, known as direct-ammonia solid oxide fuel cells (DA-SOFCs), which are among the most efficient technologies for ammonia utilization. Current research efforts are directed towards lowering the operating temperatures of DA-SOFCs by incorporating additional catalysts. However, critical analyses regarding the extent of ammonia decomposition on metallic interconnects and Ni current collectors, as well as the negative effect of residual ammonia on performance, are lacking. In this study, we examine DA-SOFCs with a single-repeating unit stack on a small scale, addressing the effects of metallic interconnects and the Ni-current collector on DA-SOFC operation within the temperature range of 650 °C–750 °C. The anode components, including the metallic interconnect, Ni-current collector, and the SOFC cell, are investigated in powder form and in DA-SOFC operation to determine each component's influence under actual DA-SOFC operating conditions. Both Fe-rich and Ni-rich high-temperature alloys demonstrate high catalytic activity for the ammonia decomposition reaction, playing a significant role in actual cell operations. Furthermore, extensive impedance analysis of DA-SOFC operation under various fuel conditions reveals that residual ammonia significantly increases polarization resistance at lower temperatures, which is the primary factor contributing to negative effect on performance at these temperatures. This study investigates the effect of dynamic changes in monitor height and tilt on neck pain and posture of computer users. Using a wearable device, we aim to compare neck pain and spine angle between static and dynamic monitors. A spine angle tracking system using the Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) was proposed, and the accuracy was validated. Eight office workers participated for five hours over two days, and each day used either a static monitor or a dynamic monitor that changed height and tilt every 30 min. The angles of C0, C7, L1, and S1 endplates were estimated using the proposed system. Changes in neck pain and spine angle with time were compared in static and dynamic monitors. The intraclass correlation coefficient confirmed a high concordance between the estimated and actual angles (p < 0.001). Rehabilitation Bioengineering Group (RBG) score increased less in the dynamic monitor compared to the static monitor (p = 0.003). Spinal curvatures are bent in the static monitor compared to the dynamic monitor. The estimated angles aligned well with X-ray measurements. A dynamic monitor that changes height and tilt at regular intervals may reduce neck pain increase and reduce bend forward posture compared to a static monitor. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
