Abstract

The South Korean aquaculture industry has incurred considerable production losses due to various infectious diseases. Artificially synthesized polyinosinic–polycytidylic acid (poly I:C), structurally similar to double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) and cytidine–phosphate–guanosine oligodeoxynucleotides, can enhance immune responses and protect against diseases. Here, we investigated dsRNA molecules with different cytidine–phosphate–guanosine (CpG) motifs (dsRNA-CpGMix) as fused agents to treat Miamiensis avidus and viral hemorrhagic septicemia virus (VHSV) infection in olive flounders. We further investigated the efficacy of specific sequence motifs in dsRNA in modulating immunostimulatory effects. Fish treated with poly I:C or dsRNA-CpGMix exhibited higher survival rates than the control group. Olive flounder leukocytes stimulated with poly I:C or dsRNA-CpGMix showed increased scuticocidal activity in the presence of inactivated immune sera. dsRNA with CpG motif sequences induced higher resistance against M. avidus and VHSV infections than dsRNA without CpG motif sequences, and the dsRNA-CpGMix group showed upregulated ISG15 or Mx compared to the dsRNA-GFP group. Thus, dsRNA containing CpG motifs can be used as effective immunostimulants to enhance resistance against viral and parasitic diseases in olive flounder. The specific sequences of the CpG motifs in dsRNA may be important for enhancing immune responses and resistance against M. avidus and VHSV infections in olive flounders. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

14. Integrated Augmented and Virtual Reality Technologies for Realistic Fire Drill Training

Abstract

In this article, we propose a novel fire drill training system designed specifically to integrate augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) technologies into a single head-mounted display device to provide realistic as well as safe and diverse experiences. Applying hybrid AR/VR technologies in fire drill training may be beneficial because they can overcome limitations such as space–time constraints, risk factors, training costs, and difficulties in real environments. The proposed system can improve training effectiveness by transforming arbitrary real spaces into real-time, realistic virtual fire situations, and by interacting with tangible training props. Moreover, the system can create intelligent and realistic fire effects in AR by estimating not only the object type but also its physical properties. Our user studies demonstrated the potential of integrated AR/VR for improving training and education.

Abstract

White tail disease (WTD) is caused by the Macrobrachium rosenbergii nodavirus (MrNV) and an extra-small virus (XSV). MrNV belongs to the Nodaviridae family. While the role of XSV in the pathogenicity of WTD remains unclear, MrNV is considered to be a significant factor in the disease. To study WTD infection in giant freshwater prawns (Macrobrachium rosenbergii), adult and post-larval (PL) prawns were collected from three giant freshwater prawn farms in Gyeongsangnam-do, Korea in 2021. Although the adult and PL prawns did not display any gross signs of WTD, MrNV was detected in both adult and PL in this study. However, XSV was not detected in both prawns. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that the capsid protein gene sequences of MrNV obtained in this study were robustly clustered with the MrNV group, and were clearly distinguished from Alphanodavirus and Betanodavirus groups of the family Nodaviridae. Although Zenker's necrosis and myolysis were observed histopathologically in the abdominal striated muscle of adult and PL prawns, no gross signs associated with white tail were observed because of local lesions. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to search for detail properties affecting product quality and service on customer satisfaction and customer loyalty among Selected properties of customers visiting Window Bakery. The study has conducted a questionnaire survey for customers with experience using window bakery for 30 days from June 15 to July 15, 2017. 360 copies of the questionnaire directly handed out and collected 355 copies of the questionnaire. A total of 348 copies were used for statistical analysis except 7 copies. As a result of the empirical analysis, it was found out that the quality and service of the product were the most important factors among the customer"s preference attributes of the window bakery customers. Therefore, it was found that the management should be the most important factor and the cooked bread, And marketing and marketing. Also it was noted that service is an important factor affecting customer satisfaction and customer loyalty by systematically enhancing and enhancing the system. Future studies should investigate and study more diverse and detailed factors to improve marketing and image direction of bakery customers.
