Background: Leukocytoclastic vasculitis (LCV) is a vasculitic inflammation against blood vessels. Various anticancer therapies can cause vasculitis, but capecitabine-induced LCV is an unusual entity. Here, we describe an LCV case associated with neoadjuvant capecitabine use for locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC). Case report: A 70-year-old man presented with rectal bleeding. A colonoscopic biopsy revealed rectal adenocarcinoma and he was diagnosed with LARC after imaging studies. Capecitabine plus radiation therapy was started as a neoadjuvant treatment. Management and outcome: Seven days after the first capecitabine dose, the patient was admitted with a rash. The LCV diagnosis was histopathologically proven. Capecitabine was withheld. After the patient's rash began to regress under corticosteroid pressure, capecitabine was started at a lower dose. His treatment was completed successfully with oral corticosteroids plus low-dose capecitabine. Multiple regression was used to investigate whether the perfectionism perceptions, automatic thoughts, and the grade point average (GPA) of young adolescent students predict their career decision-making self-efficacy levels. The final sample included 383 students in their eighth year of school. Results indicate that positive perfectionism, automatic thoughts, and GPA predict students' levels of career decision-making self-efficacy. Furthermore, exploratory analyses indicated that female students had higher levels of career decision-making self-efficacy than did male students, as did students whose mothers were graduates of two and four-year postsecondary educational institutions versus high school. Practical recommendations and research suggestions are proposed.

The communications link and system aspects of active phased arrays that are used in multiple-beam satellite systems are assessed through measurements and analysis. Three link parameters are investigated and their effects on the overall carrier-to-interference ratio (CIR) are quantified. The first parameter is the intermodulation components that are generated at the nonlinear amplifier outputs and contribute to well-formed interference in the far-field radiation of the array. The second is the bit-error ratio (BER) degradation due to the multi-carrier operation of the active array. Measurement results are shown to demonstrate this effect. The third link parameter is the cochannel interference caused by frequency reuse in multiple-beam systems. The paper starts by reviewing early developments of phased arrays for multiple-beam satellite communications applications. A key component in these developments is the modular monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) beam-forming matrices that generate a number of simultaneous and independently digitally controlled beams.

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is one of the most common neurological disorders that is difficult to predict and prevent in the world. In parallel to the physiological effects of MS, the unpredictable changes involved in the illness influence the process of planning for the future. From this point of view, this study is intended to examine the career trajectory of people with MS. To better understand how MS-related changes impact the career trajectories of people with MS, interviews were completed with 10 individuals with MS living and working in Turkey with a focus on the career development process. The results indicate that people with MS experience physical, mental, and psychological symptoms and career barriers; however, they adjust to these symptoms with some strengths and coping strategies. The most common career path in this study is continuing, which means participants tried to deal with their illnesses, and stated their wish to be promoted in their fields by meeting the requirements. Finally, participants also reported receiving support from different resources such as family, supervisors, and colleagues and having altruistic values. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
