The paper studies absolute stability of neutral differential nonlinear systems (x) over dot (t) = Ax (T) + Bx (t - tau) +D(x) over dot (T - tau) + bf (sigma(t)), sigma(t) = c(T) x(t), t >= 0 where x is an unknown vector, A, B and D are constant matrices, b and c are column constant vectors, tau > 0 is a constant delay and f is a Lurie-type nonlinear function satisfying Lipschitz condition. Absolute stability is analyzed by a general Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional with the results compared with those previously known.

The paper investigates the exponential stability and exponential estimate of the norms of solutions to a linear system of difference equations with single delay $x\left( {k+1} \right)=Ax\left( k \right)+\sum_{i=1}^sB_ix\left( {k-m_i} \right)$, $k=0,1,\dots$ where $s\in \mathbb{N}$, $A$ and $B_i$ are square matrices and $m_i\in\mathbb{N}$. New criterion for exponential stability is proved by the Lyapunov method. An estimate of the norm of solutions is given as well and relations to the well-known results are discussed.

Charakteristická rovnice těchto systémů je identická s charakteristickou rovnicí systému, který neobsahuje zpožděné členy. V takovém případě se počáteční dimenze prostoru řešení mění po několika krocích na menší. V jistém smyslu je tato situace analogická podobnému jevu v teorii lineárních diferenciálních systémů s konstantními koeficienty a speciálním zpožděním, kdy původně nekonečně rozměrný prostor řešení (na počátečním intervalu) přejde po několika krocích do konečného prostoru řešení. The characteristic equations of weakly delayed systems are identical with those of the same systems but without delayed terms. In this case, after several steps, the space of solutions with a given starting dimension is pasted into a space with a dimension less than the starting one. In a sense, this situation is analogous to one known in the theory of linear differential systems with constant coefficients and special delays when the initially infinite dimensional space of solutions on the initial interval turns (after several steps) into a finite dimensional set of solutions. For every possible case, explicit general solutions are constructed and, finally, results on the dimensionality of the space of solutions are obtained. The stability of solutions is investigated as well.

K tomu jsou definovány speciální maticové funkce zvané diskrétní maticové zpožděné exponenciály a je dokázána jejich základní vlastnost. Tyto speciální maticové funkce jsou základem analytických vzorců reprezentujících řešení počáteční úlohy. Nejprve je uvažována počáteční úloha s impulsy, které působí na řešení v některých předepsaných bodech, a jsou odvozeny vzorce popisující řešení této úlohy. V další části disertační práce jsou definovány dvě různé diskrétní maticové zpožděné exponenciály pro dvě zpoždění a jsou dokázány jejich základní vlastnosti.
