The aim of study it was carried out survey investigation of consumer attitudes toward organic agriculture. The study was a kind of applied and descriptive -correlational method. The research population was consumers of agricultural products in Alborz Province. Sample size was determine by Cochran's formula (n= 250). Proportional stratified random sampling method was used. Data was collected through an instrument that developed by researcher. Validity estimated by a panel of experts in University and Agriculture experts' of jihad-e-keshavarzi department of Karaj city. Reliability was conducted by a Pilot test and Cronbach's alpha coefficient assumed (0/75) which show its suit for research conduct. Data analysis was performed using SPSS software package. Research findings show that there is a significant difference between responces in diploma and graduate & post graduted level at the 0.05 level. Also there is positive relation between consume obstacle and factors affecting to use of organice agriculture with responcendents attitude. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The aim of this study was to analyze the components of Consumer behavior toward food waste. The study was a kind of applied and descriptive - correlational method. The research population was consumers of food products in Tehran city. Sample size was determine by Kerjice and Morgan table (n= 384). Proportional stratified random sampling method was used. The research instrument was a researchermade questionnaire. Validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by a panel of expert in Agricultural Extension and Education Department, Tarbiat Modarres University. Reliability was conducted by a Pilot test and Cronbach's alpha coefficient assumed (0/86) which show its suit for research conduct. Results of exploratory factor analysis revealed six components of consumer behavior: Cultural values, social participation, motivation, beliefs, education and awareness and perception which are composed of 60 percent of consumer behavior changes, explain. - Abstract
Background: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the most common and deadly cancers worldwide. Different factors, such as environmental and genetic factors and lifestyle, affect it. Owing to the presence of phenolic, alkaloid, antioxidant, and terpenoid compounds, herbal compounds can be effective in the treatment of various cancers. Thymol is a natural monoterpene phenol that is abundant in some plants and exerts several biological effects. The aim of this study was to investigate the apoptotic, anti-proliferative effect and EGFR gene expression under the influence of thymol-loaded nanoliposome in SW84 and SW111 cell lines derived from colorectal cancer., Materials and Methods: The lipid thin-film hydration method was used to synthesize thymol-loaded liposomes, and their characterization was performed using TEM, DLS, and HPLC analyses. SW84 and SW1111 cells were treated with thymol- and thymol-loaded liposomes at different doses, the inhibition of cell proliferation was evaluated using an MTT assay, the rate of apoptosis induction was assessed using flow cytometry, and EGFR gene expression was measured using real-time PCR., Results: The nanoparticles produced were spherical, uniform, and 200 ± 10 nm in size. HPLC analysis showed that approximately 98% thymol was loaded into the nanoliposome. The results of the MTT assay showed that thymol and thymol-nanoliposomes decreased the proliferation of SW84 and SW1111 cells in a concentration-dependent manner. The IC50 of thymol and thymol-nanoliposomes were 18 and 14.2 µg/ml for the SW48 cell line (P = 0.04) and 10.5 and 6.4 µg/ml for the SW1116 cell line (P = 0.001). Thymol-nanoliposomes significantly inhibited the proliferation of cancer cells compared to free thymol. Flow cytometry showed an increase in the percentage of apoptotic cells, especially in the thymol-nanoliposome group in the treated cells. Real-time PCR results also showed that thymol and thymol-nanoliposome both caused a decrease in the expression of EGFR genes in both cell lines, but this effect of decreasing gene expression was significantly higher in the thymol-nanoliposome group., Conclusions: Our results showed that thymol-nanoliposomes reduced proliferation, increased apoptosis, and decreased EGFR expression in colorectal cancer-derived cell lines., (© 2024. 10. RGD-decorated nanoliposomes for combined delivery of arsenic trioxide and curcumin to prostate cancer cells.

- Abstract
Nanotechnology and drug co-delivery offer a novel avenue in drug delivery research liposome-based co-delivery of anticancer drugs targeting the apoptosis pathway as a promising new approach to treat cancer. In this study, a co-delivery system of liposomes (arsenic trioxide/curcumin) modified with RGD peptide was designed to aim for enhancing the treatment of prostate cancer cells (PC3 cell line). Liposomal co-loaded curcumin and arsenic trioxide modified by RGD peptide (NLPs-RGD-Cur-ATO) were prepared by thin-layer lipid hydration techniques for the treatment of prostate cancer. The stability of the NLPs-RGD-Cur-ATO was evaluated by particle size analysis through dynamic light scattering (DLS) analysis and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The percentage of cytotoxicity and apoptotic effect in PC3 cells treated with NLPs-RGD-Cur-ATO were detected by MTT and Annexin V-FITC (fluorescein isothiocyanate)/PI affinity assay, respectively. The particle size of NLPs-RGD-Cur-ATO was approximately 100 nm, with an encapsulation efficiency of about 99.52% and 70.61%, for ATO and Cur, respectively. Besides, NLPs-RGD-Cur-ATO displayed an enhanced anti-proliferative effect, increased the percentage of apoptotic cells 98 ± 1.85% (p < 0.0001), and significantly reduced EGFR gene expression level (p < 0.001) in the cell line tested. These results indicated that our NLPs-RGD-Cur-ATO co-delivery system was a promising strategy for prostate cancer therapy., (© 2023. 11. A comprehensive study on criteria of sustainable urban waste management system: using content analysis.

- Abstract
The present study was developed to comprehensively analyze experts' views and content of documents focusing on goals and criteria of sustainable waste management system in Tehran, Iran. To this end, the suitable goals for sustainable waste management system in Tehran city were adopted from domestic, national and international documents. For this purpose, 27 national and international documents and 2 domestic documents related to waste management were selected and analyzed by using content analysis according to Gall, 1994. Further, in order to formulate goals in case of bottlenecks and challenges of waste management in Tehran, the focus group technique was used based on Stewart and Shamdasani, 2014. At this stage, 24 key experts in the field of waste management were interviewed in the form of 4 focus groups. Data collection were performed via audio recording and word-for-word implementation of conversations, taking notes and writing field notes. The data collection continued until reaching theoretical saturation. Next, content analysis and coding methods were used to analyze the data. Finally, the goals of waste management were divided into five general categories including: institutional (with emphasis on the integration and inclusion of the key elements of the urban waste management system), technical and infrastructural (with emphasis on the optimization of existing processes in the use of urban waste management technologies), environmental (with emphasis on minimizing the adverse health and environmental effects of the urban waste management system, economic (with emphasis on the economic and financial sustainability of the urban waste management system), and cultural-social (with emphasis on attracting the maximum participation of citizens and service recipients). The results clearly showed that sustainable waste management measures in Tehran should follow these five components in order to reduce the problems caused by unrealistic waste management and make sustainable use of basic, natural, financial and human resources., (© 2023. - Abstract
Curcumin is one of the natural anticancer drugs but its efficiency is limited by low stability, insufficient bioavailability, poor solubility, and poor permeability. Dorema aucheri (Bilhar) is a herb with precious pharmaceutical properties. This study aimed to develop a nanoliposome-based curcumin and Bilhar extract codelivery system. The nanocompounds were synthesized using the lipid thin-film hydration method and characterized by transmission electron microscopy, and dynamic light scattering techniques, and their cytotoxicity and apoptotic effect on the primary oral cancer cell line were evaluated via 2,5-diphenyl-2H-tetrazolium bromide assay and flow cytometry. Moreover, the expression of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) gene in the treated cells was assessed using the real-time polymerase chain reaction technique. Based on the results, nanoliposomes had a size of 91 ± 10 nm with a polydispersity index of 0.13. Free curcumin, the extract, and the curcumin-extract combination showed dose-dependent toxicity against cancer cells; yet, the extract (IC
50 : 86 µ g/ml) and curcumin-extract (IC50 : 65 µ g/ml) activities were much more than curcumin (IC50 : 121 µ g/ml). Also, the curcumin and extract loaded on liposomes showed a dose and time-dependent cytotoxicity. After loading the curcumin-extract compound on nanoliposomes, their IC50 decreased from 180 µ g/ml (within 24 hr) to 43 µ g/ml (within 72 hr), indicating their sustainable release and activity. Likewise, this compound induced the highest apoptosis percentage (95%) in cancerous cells and inhibited the expression of the EGFR gene in the cells by 81% ± 3%. These findings demonstrated the effectiveness of the Bilhar extract against oral cancer cells. 13. The impact of two insecticides on the pollutant cycle and quality of surface and groundwater resources in the irrigated lands of Yasuj, Iran.

- Abstract
The increase in the need for food and agricultural development has led to an increase in the use of insecticides. The use of insecticides leads to air, soil and water pollution. This study investigated the pollutant concentration cycle in the environment by analyzing diazinon and deltamethrin in a river and groundwater sources affected by an agricultural area. The samples were analyzed based on the standard method for insecticides in water using a GC-MS. The results showed that the quality of the surface water affected by the agricultural effluents decreased so that the changes of dissolved oxygen, nitrate, turbidity, TOC, BOD, and COD were 15.2%, 189.6%, 00%, 53%, 176%, and 57.5%, respectively. The concentration of diazinon and deltamethrin in agricultural wastewater was 86 μg/L and 11.62 μg/L. The self-treatment capacity of the river reduced the concentration of diazinon in the distance of 2 km and 15 km by 80.8% and 90.3%, respectively. These conditions were observed for deltamethrin in 74.8% and 96.2%, respectively. Also, the concentration of the two insecticides in water resources has temporal and spatial variation. The difference between the maximum and minimum concentration of diazinon and deltamethrin at different times was 183.5 and 1.73, respectively. The concentration of diazinon and deltamethrin in the downstream groundwater of the studied irrigated area was 0.3-0.7 μg/L, respectively. Background: Quercetin is a flavonoid having anti-cancer properties; however, it has low stability, insufficient bioavailability, and poor solubility. This study aimed to load quercetin on nanoliposomes to enhance its efficiency against SW48 colorectal cancer cells. The cytotoxicity of free-quercetin and quercetin-loaded nanoliposomes on the expression of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGER) gene was investigated., Methods: This present in vitro study was conducted at Yasuj University of Medical Sciences (Yasuj, Iran) in 2021. In this in vitro study, the lipid thin-film hydration method was used to synthesize quercetin-loaded liposomes. Additionally, high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analyses, dynamic light scattering (DLS), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) investigations were used to characterize nanomaterials. Following that, MTT, flow cytometry, and real-time PCR were used to investigate the cytotoxicity of quercetin-loaded liposomes on the colorectal cancer cells SW48 cell line, the incidence of apoptosis, and the expression of the EGFR gene in these cells. Statistical analysis was performed using the SPSS (version 26.0), and the graphs were created with the GraphPad Prism version 8.4.3. P<0.05 was considered statistically significant., Results: The nanoparticles were spherical, homogenous, and 150±10 nm in size. According to HPLC, Quercetin had a 98% loading capacity. Although both free quercetin and quercetin-loaded liposomes indicated significant cytotoxicity against cancer cells (P˂0.001), the combined form was significantly more active (P=0.008). 50 µg/mL of this compound reduced the viability of SW48 cells by more than 80% (IC
50 10.65 µg/mL), while the viability of cells treated with free quercetin was only 66% (IC50 18.74 µg/mL). The apoptosis was nearly doubled in the cells treated with quercetin-loaded nanoliposomes compared to free quercetin (54.8% versus 27.6%). - Abstract
During the past few years, advances in drag delivery have provided many opportunities in the treatment of various diseases and cancer. Arsenic trioxide (ATO) and Erlotinib (Erlo) are two drugs, approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration to treat cancer, but their use is limited in terms of the toxicity of ATO and the low solubility of Erlo. This study aimed to prepare arginine-glycine-aspartic acid (RGD)-decorated nanoliposomes (NLPs) containing Erlo and ATO (NLPs-ATO-Erlo-RGD) to increase the solubility and reduce the toxicity of Erlo and ATO for cancer treatment. The results of transmission electron microscopy and dynamic light scattering showed that NLPs were synthesized uniformly, with spherical shape morphology and particle sizes between 140 and 160 nm. High-performance liquid chromatography and ICP-MS results showed that about 90% of the drug was loaded in the NLPs. In comparison with NLPs-ATO-Erlo, NLPs-ATO-Erlo-RGD demonstrated considerable toxicity against the αvβ3 overexpressing PC3 cell line in the MTT experiment. It had no effect on the PANC-1 cell line. In addition, apoptosis assays using Annexin V/PI demonstrated that NLPs-ATO-Erlo-RGD generated the highest apoptotic rates in PC3 cells when compared with NLPs-ATO-Erlo and the combination of free ATO and Erlo. Furthermore, treatment with NLPs-ATO-Erlo-RGD in (p < 0.05) PC3 cell line significantly reduced EGFR level. - Abstract
Background: Non-allergic angioedema is largely driven by increased plasma levels of bradykinin and over-activation of bradykinin receptor type II (B2), but the specific downstream signalling pathways remain unclear. The aim of this study was to identify signal transduction events involved in bradykinin-induced dermal extravasation., Methods: Quantification of dermal extravasation was accomplished following intradermal (i.d.) injection of bradykinin or the B2 agonist labradimil in mice with endothelial NO-synthase (eNOS) deficiency and in C57BL/6J mice pre-treated with vehicle, NO-synthase or cyclooxygenase (COX) inhibitors. In the multicentre clinical study ABRASE, 38 healthy volunteers received i.d. bradykinin injections into the ventral forearm before and after oral treatment with the COX inhibitor ibuprofen (600 mg). The primary endpoint of ABRASE was the mean time to complete resolution of wheals (TTCR) and the secondary endpoint was the change of maximal wheal size., Results: Neither NOS inhibitors nor eNOS deficiency altered bradykinin-induced extravasation. In striking contrast, the COX inhibitors ibuprofen, diclofenac, SC560 and celecoxib significantly diminished this extravasation when given before injection. As for diclofenac, a similar but significantly lower effect was observed when given after i.d. injection of bradykinin. Similar results were obtained when bradykinin was replaced by labradimil. In volunteers, ibuprofen significantly reduced TTCR (P < 0.001) and maximal wheal size (P = 0.0044)., Conclusion: These data suggest that COX activity contributes to bradykinin-induced dermal extravasation in mice and humans. In addition, our findings may open new treatment options and point to a potential activity of drugs interfering with the release of the COX substrate arachidonic acid, e.g. glucocorticoids., (Copyright © 2019 The Authors. Background and Purpose: Non-allergic angio-oedema is a life-threatening disease mediated by activation of bradykinin type 2 receptors (B
2 receptors). The aim of this study was to investigate whether activation of B2 receptors by endogenous bradykinin contributes to physiological extravasation. This may shed new light on the assumption that treatment with an angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor (ACEi) results in an alteration in the vascular barrier function predisposing to non-allergic angio-oedema., Experimental Approach: We generated a new transgenic mouse model characterized by endothelium-specific overexpression of the B2 receptor (B2tg ) and established a non-invasive two-photon laser microscopy approach to measure the kinetics of spontaneous extravasation in vivo. The B2tg mice showed normal morphology and litter size as compared with their transgene-negative littermates (B2n )., Key Results: Overexpression of B2 receptors was functional in conductance vessels and resistance vessels as evidenced by B2 receptor-mediated aortic dilation to bradykinin in presence of non-specific COX inhibitor diclofenac and by significant hypotension in B2tg respectively. Measurement of dermal extravasation by Miles assay showed that bradykinin induced extravasation was significantly increased in B2tg as compared with B2n . However, neither endothelial overexpression of B2 receptors nor treatment with the ACEi moexipril or B2 antagonist icatibant had any effect on spontaneous extravasation measured by two-photon laser microscopy., Conclusions and Implications: Activation of B2 receptors does not appear to be involved in spontaneous extravasation.
