Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of ultra-low pressure filtration performance on the permeability of clean water and campus domestic waste. Waste treatment can be carried out by applying an ultra-low pressure membrane filtration process with a Gravity Driven Membrane (GDM) system. Ultra-low pressure membrane filtration has less impact on the environment, low energy use, easy operation, high efficiency in removing pathogens, organic matter and turbidity. The filtration was tested using clean water and campus domestic waste as bait with a duration of 30 minutes each for each pressure, starting from a pressure of 1 kPa-10 kPa with a total time of 780 minutes for one sample. At each pressure, a relaxation time will be given for 10 minutes, this is done to maintain membrane permeability. Long-term filtration was carried out for 35 days and every 7 days the domestic waste was replaced without backwashing the membrane. The results of this study indicate that the permeability of clean water decreases due to compaction that occurs along with increasing pressure. Meanwhile, the permeability of campus domestic waste has decreased due to compaction accompanied by pore blockage in the membrane (fouling).

Abstract

Laundry waste pollution can be handled through the development of filtration with the Gravity Driven Membrane (GDM) method which is designed to follow the criteria of the unloading module design, low polarization control, cost-effective, separation process using thrust in the form of a strong pressure difference. This type of research was an experiment. This study aimed to determine the performance of laundry waste filtration at ultra low pressure using clean water permeability and detergent solution as standardization. GDM filtration performance was tested by measuring permeability at a pressure of 1-10 kPa with two repetitions and long-term filtration for 35 days at a pressure of 6 kPa, the sample was replaced every 7 days without membrane washing. The results showed that as the pressure increases and the filtration time increases, the permeability of laundry waste decreases, this phenomenon is caused by compaction and clogging of the membrane pores (fouling). Permeability decreases from 1 kPa to 10 kPa pressure, the same applies to repetition. Long-term filtration permeability decreased significantly from the first day to the eighth day of filtration respectively 707.9 , 151.7, 115.8, 104.4, 97.5, 107.1, 102.1 and 103. 0 L/m2.hour.bar. On the 9th to 35th day the decrease was stable, this was caused by fouling on the membrane which resulted in the membrane becoming more compact and saturated. GDM filtration can take place for 35 days without washing the membrane with a permeability from the first day of 707.9 and the 35th day of 5.5 L/m2.hour.bar. Abstract

This study endeavours to develop a questionnaire instrument capable of classifying respondents based on their tendencies towards divergent or convergent thinking. The questionnaire serves a valuable purpose by enabling teachers to identify the thinking potential of individual students and maximise it during the learning process. The research involved 149 junior high school (SMP) students from the West Lombok district, who participated in the stages of validity and reliability testing, and 84 respondents in the categorisation trial. The instruments were compiled and assessed through expert validation using descriptive methods, employing percentage scores. Additionally, validity was assessed using product moment correlation coefficients, reliability was measured through alpha reliability coefficients, and categorisation abilities were evaluated based on non-level categorisation (nominal). The findings revealed that the divergent and convergent categorisation questionnaires consisted of 40 items, encompassing 20 descriptors each for divergent and convergent thinking. Expert ratings yielded an average score of 89.50, falling within the excellent category. The product moment test confirmed the validity of all 40 items, with a product-moment correlation value greater than the critical value (rtable (149, 0.05)=0.16). The reliability of the questionnaire was deemed high for both the divergent and convergent item groups and satisfactory for all items, as indicated by alpha reliability coefficients of 0.64, 0.72, and 0.55, respectively. The trial results demonstrated that the questionnaire effectively categorised subjects, achieving accurate categorisation for up to 20% of the total subjects in both the divergent and convergent thinking groups. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the readiness of science teachers in West Lombok Regency Indonesia to apply the Merdeka Curriculum and to describe their experiences in implementing learning oriented to the development of process skills and scientific literacy in the classroom. This research was carried out using an ex post facto approach. This study involved 24 science teachers and 256 students consisting of 93 seventh-grade students, 108 eighth-grade students, and 64 ninth-grade students as respondents spread across 10 State Junior High Schools in West Lombok Regency in the academic year 2021-2022 which was collected by using a proportional random sampling. The data were obtained using three questionnaires, namely a questionnaire on teacher readiness to apply Independent Learning, distributed to teachers, a questionnaire on the application of Science Process Skills learning, and a questionnaire on the application of scientific literacy learning, each distributed to both teachers and students. Data were analysed descriptively with percentage and correlation techniques. The results showed that the readiness of junior high school science teachers in West Lombok Regency to apply the Merdeka curriculum was in the fair category, with an average score of 50.08. Science teachers who have participated in the Guru Penggerak program have better readiness, with an average score of 66.68, than those who have not, with an average score of 46.28. The teachers considered that they had a good experience on implemented the science process skills learning, while the students considered it fair, with an average score of 73.33 and 59.26, respectively. The teachers' responses to how well they had applied scientific literacy learning in the classroom were higher than the students, with an average score of 65.88 and 60.97 in the good category, respectively. It seems that the teacher's experience in applying science process skills and scientific literacy learning plays a role in the teacher's readiness to apply the Merdeka curriculum. The results of this study are the basis for recommendations on the need for training for science teachers in junior high schools to accelerate the implementation of an independent curriculum through learning oriented towards developing science process skills and science literacy to realise the Pancasila Students Profile. Abstract

Natural science or science is a part of human life that has existed since the beginning of human existence, knowing himself and the natural surroundings. This study aimed to examine Dimensional Science Education based on three philosophical foundations: ontology, epistemology, and axiology. The method used in this article is the literature review method. The library sources used are books and articles that are by this article. The analysis used is content analysis. The study results show that, in essence, science is a science of natural phenomena that is poured into facts, concepts, principles, and laws that are tested for truth through a series of activities in the scientific method. The essence of products and processes cannot be distinguished or separated because they have a bound relationship with one another in conducting scientific observations so that they can form a scientific attitude. Dimensional Science Education is divided into three dimensions, namely Product Dimension (ontology), Process Dimension (epistemology), and Scientific Attitude Dimension (Axiology). These three dimensions are interrelated. It can be interpreted that science learning must include these three dimensions. Therefore, Science education contains not only formulas and theories but a process and scientific attitude to obtain scientific concepts about the universe.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the level of application of chemistry learning oriented to Lombok local wisdom and tourism in teaching chemistry and student learning performance in the application of the learning. This research used a descriptive design. The sample of the study is 65 students that consist of 20 biology education students, 30 chemistry education students, and 15 physics education students at UNDIKMA in the academic year 2019-2020. Data were collected by questionnaire, portfolio, and observation. Furthermore, chemistry learning oriented to Lombok local wisdom and tourism was applied to 28 chemistry education students participating in natural chemistry courses. Student learning performance was evaluated by using a scientific paper portfolio and observation of discussion activities. The results showed that the level of application of science learning oriented to Lombok local wisdom and tourism for students of biology, chemistry, and physics education courses of UNDIKMA was in the poor category with a percentage of 33.75%. The students' learning performance in writing papers and group discussion processes were 78,63 and 83,39, respectively, which were in the very good category. The response to the idea of applying chemistry learning oriented to Lombok local wisdom and tourism in the UNDIKMA Chemistry education study program was in a very good category with a percentage of 84.44%. Respondents believed that the application of chemistry learning oriented to Lombok local wisdom and tourism would increase students' motivation and attitudes in learning, as well as potential to provide students the skills as problem solvers and agents of change within the society that has unique local wisdom and potential tourism. Abstract

The aims of this research were to study the correlation between NOS Understanding and Conceptual Understanding and between NOS Understanding and Science Process Skills. This study also serves as an empirical validity test of the NOS understanding questionnaire that researchers have developed. This correlational research was carried out at the Faculty of Mathematics and Science Education of IKIP Mataram. Ex post facto method was employed in this study. The study involved 75 students taking General Chemistry course for the academic year of 2018-2019. The participants were selected by using the saturated sampling method. Data were collected using a NOS understanding questionnaire, concept understanding test, and observation sheet of science process skills. The data are presented descriptively. The correlation test was carried out by using product moment test. The results uncovered a strong and significant correlation between NOS Understanding and Conceptual Understanding and between NOS Understanding and Science Process Skills. The results of this study indicate that the NOS understanding questionnaire has been compiled can be used to measure the level of students’ understanding of NOS and predict students’ performance of science process skills and conceptual understanding in chemistry learning.
