In this research, the polypropylene (PP) sheets used for automotive bumper surface were treated using two methods: air atmospheric gliding arc plasma and flame modifications. Atomic force microscopy was applied to study the morphology of surfaces before and after treatment processes. While calculating the surface free energy (SFE), contact angle of the surfaces was measured, and the chemical composition of the PP surface was analyzed using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Surface modifications by gliding arc plasma increased the ratio of the oxygen and nitrogen atoms on the surface by 100%, indicating that polar chemical functionalities form on the surface. The surface morphology was highly affected by gliding arc plasma treatments, which triggered an impact on roughness and etching. It was also found that the SFE was drastically increased by certain modifications. Noticeable improvement was also observed in wettability by the gliding arc plasma technique. In the next stage, polyurethane paints were coated on the treated and untreated PP surfaces. Then, we examined the flame and gliding arc plasma treatments' effect on coating properties of PP bumper, adhesion analysis, water immersion resistance, and sulfuric acid resistance. Finally, high-pressure carwash test and gloss analysis were conducted on the treated and untreated coated sheets, respectively. This study aimed to investigate the effect of the cold atmospheric plasma torch (CAPT) nozzle distance from the surface of Olivier salad and the treatment time in the reduction of microbial load and sensory properties of the product simultaneously. In this study, the CAPT nozzle was placed at 3, 5, and 7 cm distances from the surface of the Olivier salad, and its efficiency in inactivating the microbial population, decimal reduction time (D-value), and sensory evaluation of the product were evaluated. The results showed that reducing the distance and increasing the plasma treatment time (30, 60, 90, and 120 s) both reduced the microbial load of the product. The maximum inactivation and the minimum D-value are related to the 3 cm distance for 120 s, which has been 3.77, 2.91, and 1.52 log CFU/g for Coliform, Total viable count (TVC), mold and yeast, respectively. The lowest D-value was related to Coliform (4.41 s). CAPT treatment had no significant sensible effect on the product's sensory characteristics compared to the control sample. The treated sample at a 3 cm distance for 90 s and the microbial reduction to an acceptable amount and high acceptancy from sensory evaluators were selected as the superior treatment in this study. Standard ad auction formats do not immediately extend to settings where multiple size configurations and layouts are available to advertisers. In these settings, the sale of web advertising space increasingly resembles a combinatorial auction with complementarities, where truthful auctions such as the Vickrey–Clarke–Groves (VCG) auction can yield unacceptably low revenue. In "Fast Core Pricing for Rich Advertising Auctions," Niazadeh, Hartline, Immorlica, Khani, and Lucier study and suggest core-selecting auctions, which boost revenue by setting payments so that no group of agents, including the auctioneer, can jointly improve their utilities by switching to a different outcome. Their main result is a combinatorial algorithm that finds an approximate bidder-optimal core point with an almost linear number of calls to the welfare-maximization oracle. This algorithm is faster than previously proposed heuristics in the literature and has theoretical guarantees. By accompanying the theoretical study with an experimental study based on Microsoft Bing Ad Auction data, the authors conclude that core pricing is implementable even for very time-sensitive practical use cases such as real-time online advertising and can yield more revenue than the VCG or generalized second price auction. We justify this claim experimentally usingMicrosoft Bing Ad Auction data, through which we show our core pricing algorithm generates almost 26% more revenue than the VCG auction on average, about 9% more revenue than other core pricing rules known in the literature, and almost matches the revenue of the standard generalized second price auction.
