Os produtos alimentares silvestres (PAS) com propriedades únicas e exclusivas abundam nas florestas da bacia do Mediterrâneo. Uma proporção significativa das pessoas que vivem nesta região recolhe e consome PAS, mas todo o seu potencial comercial não foi ainda desbloqueado. À medida que a procura continua a crescer, aspetos como a produção local, a sustentabilidade e o valor social acrescentado atraem cada vez mais a atenção de consumidores conscientes. A este respeito, os PAS podem dar contributos significativos para economias de base biológica, inteligentes e inclusivas e para o desenvolvimento da região rural mediterrânica, desde que sejam abordados de uma forma sensata. Tal significa assegurar que: a) a definição, classificação e regulamentação são melhoradas; (b) soluções inovadoras em matéria de qualidade, segurança e sustentabilidade são verificadas e melhoradas; (c) são promovidas estratégias de marketing conscientes considerando as questões ambientais, sociais e de governança (ESG); (d) são desenvolvidas estruturas organizacionais integrativas e modelos de negócio., PRIMA Wildfood "Eating the wild: Improving the value-chain of Mediterranean Wild Food Products (WFP)"

Les forêts méditerranéennes regorgent de produits alimentaires sauvages (PAS) aux propriétés uniques et exclusives. Une proportion importante de la population vivant dans ces régions récolte et consomme des PAS, mais le plein potentiel commercial de ces produits n’a pas été débloqué. Alors que la demande pour les PAS continue de croître, des aspects tels que la production locale, la durabilité et la valeur sociale ajoutée attirent de plus en plus l’attention des consommateurs consciencieux. À cet égard, les PAS peuvent apporter une contribution significative à des bioéconomies intelligentes et inclusives ainsi qu’au développement de la région méditerranéenne rurale, à condition qu’ils soient traités de manière raisonnable. Pour cela, il faut veiller à ce que : a) la définition, la classification et la réglementation de ces produits soient améliorées ; (B) des solutions innovantes en matière de qualité, de sécurité et de durabilité soient vérifiées et mises à l’échelle ; c) les stratégies de marketing conscientes des enjeux environnementaux, sociaux et de gouvernance (ESG) soient encouragées ; d) des structures organisationnelles et des modèles d’affaires intégrés soient élaborés., PRIMA Wildfood "Eating the wild: Improving the value-chain of Mediterranean Wild Food Products (WFP)"

Le foreste mediterranee abbondano di prodotti alimentari selvatici (PAS) i quali hanno proprietà organolettiche uniche ed esclusive. Una parte significativa delle persone che vivono nei paesi mediterranei, raccoglie e consuma PAS, anche se il loro uso commerciale è utilizzato al minimo delle sue potenzialità. La domanda di PAS è in continua crescita, e aspetti come la produzione locale, la sostenibilità e il valore aggiunto socio-economico sono sempre più richiesti dai consumatori. A questo proposito, il PAS può dare un contributo significativo alle bioeconomie e allo sviluppo delle aree rurali del Mediterraneo, a condizione che siano affrontate alcune tematiche in modo ragionevole. Ciò significa che: a) Si deve migliorare la definizione PAS, la loro classificazione nell’ordinamento giuridico e l’introduzione di regole per la raccolta; b) Si dovrebbero adottare nuovi approcci per garantire la qualità, la sicurezza e la sostenibilità dei PAS; c) Si dovrebbero promuovere strategie di marketing attente alle tematiche ambientali, sociali e di governance (ESG); d) Si deve promuovere e sostenere lo sviluppo di strutture organizzative e modelli aziendali interconnessi tra di loro., PRIMA Wildfood "Eating the wild: Improving the value-chain of Mediterranean Wild Food Products (WFP)"

En los bosques mediterráneos abundan los productos comestibles silvestres (PCS) con propiedades únicas y exclusivas. Una parte significativa de la población que vive en esta región cosecha y consume PCS, aunque aún no se ha desentrañado todo el potencial comercial de estos productos. A medida que la demanda de PCS continúa creciendo, aspectos como la producción local, la sostenibilidad y el valor social agregado atraen cada vez más la atención de los consumidores concienciados. En este sentido, los PCS pueden hacer contribuciones significativas a las bioeconomías inteligentes e inclusivas y al desarrollo de la zona rural del Mediterráneo, siempre que se aborden de manera sensata. Als boscos mediterranis abunden els productes alimentaris silvestres amb propietats úniques i exclusives. Una gran proporció de la gent que viu en aquesta regió cull i consumeix aquests productes, tot i això encara no s’ha desbloquejat tot el seu potencial comercial. A mesura que la demanda d’aquests productes continua creixent, aspectes com la producció local, la sostenibilitat i el valor afegit social atrauen cada cop més l’atenció dels consumidors conscients. Aquest resum de polítiques descriu quatre vies per millorar les cadenes de valor dels productes alimentaris silvestres, promoure el creixement sostenible del sector i contribuir a l’economia verda i el desenvolupament rural. Background: The Argane tree (Argania spinosa L. Skeels) is an endemic tree of southwestern Morocco that plays an important socioeconomic and ecologic role for a dense human population in an arid zone. Several studies confirmed the importance of this species as a food and feed source and as a resource for both pharmaceutical and cosmetic compounds. Unfortunately, the argane tree ecosystem is facing significant threats from environmental changes (global warming, over-population) and over-exploitation. Limited research has been conducted, however, on argane tree genetics and genomics, which hinders its conservation and genetic improvement. Methods: Here, we present a draft genome assembly of A. spinosa. A reliable reference genome of A. spinosa was created using a hybrid de novo assembly approach combining short and long sequencing reads. Results: In total, 144 Gb Illumina HiSeq reads and 7.2 Gb PacBio reads were produced and assembled. The final draft genome comprises 75 327 scaffolds totaling 671 Mb with an N50 of 49 916 kb. The draft assembly is close to the genome size estimated by k-mers distribution and covers 89% of complete and 4.3% of partial Arabidopsis orthologous groups in BUSCO. Conclusion: The A. spinosa genome will be useful for assessing biodiversity leading to efficient conservation of this endangered endemic tree. Furthermore, the genome may enable genome-assisted cultivar breeding, and provide a better understanding of important metabolic pathways and their underlying genes for both cosmetic and pharmacological purposes., This work was supported by the Iridian Genome Foundation (MD, USA). In this paper, we suggest and analyze a new extragradient iterative method, which is suggested by combining a modified extragradient method with the viscosity approximation method, for finding the common element of the set of fixed points of a countable family of nonexpansive mappings, and the solution set of the variational inequality in a Hilbert space. This new method includes the extragradient and viscosity methods as special cases. We also consider the strong convergence of the proposed method under some mild conditions. Several specialcases are also discussed. Results proved in this paper may be viewed as an improvement and refinement of the previously known results.

In this paper, we suggest and analyze a new method for solving nonlinear complementarity problems (NCP) where the underlying function F is co-coercive. The theme of this paper is twofold. First, we consider the logarithmic-quadratic proximal (LQP) method which was introduced by Auslender, Teboulle and Ben-Tiba (A logarithmic-quadratic proximal method for variational inequalities, Comput. Optim. Appl. 12, 31–40, 1999). Next, we propose a new modified LQP method by using a new direction with a new step size αk. We show that the method isglobally convergent. Some preliminary computational results are given to illustrate the efficiency of the proposed method.
