Abstract

In order to improve thermal comfort conditions of tertiary buildings through the facades of buildings, a research has been undertaken with the intention of developing a contextually appropriate and energetically efficient facade under the conditions of a hot and arid climate. The study has taken as its starting point the analysis of comfort conditions of a set of office buildings located in Biskra. These buildings were distinguished from standpoints of the treatment of their facades and the materials used. The study proposes to evaluate the thermal functioning of the different materials of the facade, then to optimize their behavior by acting on their material characteristics and the walls composition. The facade, indeed, represents a place of interaction and exchange between the inside and the outside, the performance of which is due to factors that are formal, material and technical. This article presents the main results of the analytical work. The investigation is based on an empirical approach (measurements in situ on real cases) as well as on a parametric simulation study. The results show that the facade represents with excellence the place of interaction and exchange between the interior and the exterior, the performance of which is due to factors that are both material and conceptual. Through a set of recommendations, this study tries to develop a material composition of high-performing facade that can respond optimally to the requirements of a tertiary building in a desert climate, while ensuring a pleasant thermal ambience and low consumption energy.

Abstract

γ-MnS thin films were prepared on glass substrate by spray pyrolysis method at 280 °C. The optical constants and thickness of the films were extracted using the pattern search optimization technique in combination with a seed preprocessing procedure (spPS). Refractive index dispersion of the films was analyzed by using the concept of the single oscillator model. The values of the oscillator energy, E0, and the dispersion energy, Ed, were determined as 8.83 eV and 5.65 eV, respectively. The analysis of the optical properties of the γ-MnS film showed a direct transition with energy band gap of 2.74 eV. Utilizing Hall Effect measurement, we have determined values of the resistivity p which equals to 1150 Ocm. The positive value of hall coefficient showed a p-type in nature of the obtained thin film. The maximum of photocurrent density estimated by Yablonovitch limit is equal to 46 mA/cm2. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

25. Neuroblastome médiastinal : localisation inhabituelle à révélation tardive

Abstract

Le neuroblastome (NB) est une tumeur embryonnaire du système nerveux sympathique. Elle représente la tumeur solide maligne extracérébrale la plus fréquente et la première tumeur solide chez l’enfant âgé de moins d’un an. Chez l’adulte, le neuroblastome est rare. Nous rapportons le cas d’un homme âgé de 21 ans. Le diagnostic de neuroblastome a été découvert fortuitement et confirmé par biopsie sous scanner. Le bilan d’extension réalisé par une TDM thoraco-abdominale, une IRM rachidienne et une scintigraphie osseuse a permis de classer le NB en stade IV par l’atteinte osseuse multifocale. Le patient a reçu une chimiothérapie à base d’étoposide-cisplatine (6 cycles) et une radiothérapie médiastinale. L’évolution a été marquée par la progression des localisations osseuses et l’apparition d’un processus tissulaire engainant le nerf optique gauche et la partie terminale de l’artère carotide interne. Une chimiothérapie de rattrapage a été débutée. Le patient est décédé au terme de la 3e cure. La localisation thoracique du NB est inhabituelle. La conduite à tenir n’est pas codifiée et son pronostic est variable.
