Objetivo: Determinar la calidad de las notas de enfermería en los servicios de hospitalización de un instituto especializado de Lima-Perú, octubre 2018. Métodos: Fue un estudio de enfoque cuantitativo, nivel descriptivo retrospectivo. La población estuvo conformada por 179 historias clínicas. Se utilizó el instrumento: Lista de cotejo para la evaluación de calidad de las anotaciones de Enfermería, elaborado y validado por Morales S. a través de una prueba piloto donde se obtuvo un r > 0.20. Mide estructura y contenido. Resultados: Los resultados de calidad de estructura de las notas de enfermería, determinaron que 98% no considera el balance hídrico, 88% no coloca los signos vitales y 69% realiza la evaluación del plan de cuidados. Respecto a la calidad de contenido, 92% no realiza la evaluación de las intervenciones, solo en 55% de las notas de enfermería se ven reflejados modelos de enfermería y solo 61% registra adecuada y oportunamente las intervenciones de enfermería. Conclusiones: La calidad de las notas de enfermería en su mayoría es de nivel regular.

Military forces in the State of New York, comprising the Army National Guard, Air National Guard, Naval Militia, and State Guard, with contributions from the Army Corps of Engineers, have made major contributions to the state response to the COVID-19 pandemic.Operation COVID-19 began on March 10, 2020, and will continue uninterrupted at least through June 2022, making it the longest and largest domestic mobilization in state history. More than 7000 service members served across 200 COVID-19 mission sites, administering more than 4 million vaccines, producing more than 35 million testing kits, delivering more than 54 million meals, and administering more than 1.5 million tests.Because of the role of states in delivering relief, testing, care, vaccination, and other community support during the COVID-19 pandemic, this article illuminates the role of New York military forces in responding to COVID-19. The aim is to provide details for the public health community, as well as to share lessons for the continued mission and future pandemic responses.

Se documenta nuevos registros del piquero pardo (Sula leucogaster) en el Perú en las islas Guañape, Lobos de Afuera, Macabí y Mazorca, y en Punta Coles. En la primera, el individuo observado corresponde a la subespecie S. l. brewsteri, ampliando su rango de dispersión 3800 km al sur de su zona de reproducción más cercana. En las cuatro áreas restantes, se trataría de la subespecie S. l. etesiaca, ampliando su rango de dispersión 2860 km al sur de su zona de reproducción más cercana. Considerando estas observaciones y las publicadas, entre 1972 y 2017 la especie se ha reportado en toda la costa del Perú entre los 3°S y 19°S, con un máximo de 50 individuos. A partir de 2008 se informa sobre su presencia prácticamente durante todos los años, mayormente durante las condiciones cálidas de El Niño, y en menor grado en condiciones normales y frías de La Niña, pasando de observaciones casuales a permanencias prolongadas. Debido a estas observaciones, la presencia del piquero pardo en el Perú sería más frecuente de lo que se ha considerado en la literatura hasta la actualidad, pudiendo ser un visitante regular. New records of the Brown Booby (Sula leucogaster) in Peru are documented in Guañape, Lobos de Afuera, Macabí and Mazorca islands, and Coles cape. In the fi rst locality, the individual observed corresponded to S. l. brewsteri, extending its dispersal range 3800 km south of its closest breeding area. In the other four areas, probably correspond to S. l. etesiaca, extending its range of dispersion 2860 km south of the closest reproduction area. Considering these observations and those published between 1972 and 2017, the species has been reported throughout the Peruvian coast between 3°S and 19°S, with a maximum of 50 individuals. Since 2008, the species it is reported almost every year, mostly during El Niño warm conditions, and to a lesser extent in normal and cold La Niña conditions, from casual observations to prolonged stays. Based on the observations presented here, the presence of the Brown Booby in Peru would be more common than has been considered previously in the literature, potentially being able to be considered as a regular visitor.

A professional protection officer is a person whose primary job function is the protection of people and assets. This chapter describes the levels of protection staff, major roles and core functions of the protection officer, and explores the prevention, mitigation, and response functions. Various levels of protection staff include nonprotection employees, basic level protection officer, intermediate level protection officer, advanced level supervisory, and managerial protection officers. The major roles of protection officers are management representative, intelligence agent, compliance or enforcement agent, and legal agent. As a professional, the officer follows a code of ethics, shares a common history with his colleagues, and owns a common body of knowledge. Contemporary protection officers are facing increased demands, and can learn all that they can about laws, standards, and guidelines. Laws and regulations vary greatly in different regions of the world. However, huge efforts are taken all over the world to standardize procedures, training, and risk management models.

The protection officer can play a significant role in accident prevention, safety awareness, and health promotion in the workplace. This chapter provides an overview of the basic elements of an occupational safety and health (OSH) program, the major causes of occupational accidents and illness, and the role of the protection officer in OSH programs. The protection officer should be familiar with the basic elements of the OSH program in the company because his activities may have an influence on the program. An effective OSH program should include the following requisites: management leadership, assignment of authority, establishment of safety and health training, accident record/data collection system, emergency management, first aid, and medical systems. The protection officer is trained to observe and identify the potential hazards. The officers must be aware of the potential symptoms and the consequences associated with their workplace in order to report them for early diagnosis. The common safety hazards encountered by the protection officer on routine patrol include violation of no smoking regulations, oil spills, or slippery substances that may cause slipping and tripping, burned out or missing emergency lights, and improper labeling of dangerous goods. The protection officer should have some basic knowledge of the accident types and the accident causes, because he may be involved in the accident investigation. Dedicating one patrol to the observation and reporting of unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and safety hazards is a good practice.
