Both the recreational vehicle industry and the manufactured housing industry rank high in timeliness for groups of stocks in which to invest, but these are risky industries. Manufactured housing has sold more than 250,000 units in 1993, and is expected to increase sales by 5% to 10% in 1994. However, higher interest rates and the rise of multi-family housing may adversely affect the industry. Low-priced recreational vehicles have been the most popular product during 1993, and the industry is expected to grow as recession-weary consumers begin to spend more.
