Abstract

The article focuses on the important role of the Hungarian Competition Authority (HCA) in investigating potential antitrust infringements and enforces the cartel prohibition in Hungary. It states that the agency has the power to investigate a potential antitrust infringement through its professional departments, supported by further organizational units. It also mentions the authority of the Competition Council (CC) to terminate an investigation procedure or continue based on the collected evidence. Furthermore, the CC has the power to conclude the investigation pertaining to antitrust infringement.
