Objective To analyze the effects and molecular mechanisms of AhR signaling pathway in the treatment of scleroderma with Bushen Yijing Decoction. Methods The active ingredients of Bushen Yijing Decoction and its target genes, AhR signaling pathway genes and the genes related to scleroderma were searched through TCMSP and other databases, and LC-MS results. Target gene network diagram of scleroderma, AhR pathway and the key active ingredients in Bushen Yijing Decoction were constructed. The protein-protein interaction network was constructed with STRING database, and GO and Genome KEGG were also performed. Finally, the molecular docking of the active ingredients and AhR were verified. Results Ferulic acid, quercetin, kaempferol, isoferulic acid and luteolin were key active ingredients in Bushen Yijing Decoction for the treatment of scleroderma by targeting AhR signaling pathway. These active ingredients possibly regulated AhR signaling pathway molecules, including IL-6, CTNNB1, HSP90AA1, TNF and PTGS2, which were involved in the pathogenesis of scleroderma. Molecular docking showed that the binding energies of ferulic acid, kaempferol, quercetin, isoferulic acid and luteolin with AhR were lower than -6.0 kcal/mol, indicating a good binding activity. Conclusions The mechanisms by which Bushen Yijing Decoction treats scleroderma can be attributed to the active ingredients such as ferulic acid, quercetin, kaempferol, isoferulic acid, luteolin, which target AhR signaling pathway and regulate core targets, including IL-6, CTNNB1, HSP90AA1, TNF and PTGS2.

Due to rapid industrial development, numerous dye pollutants and heavy metals, such as arsenic (As), have contaminated water sources, causing complex pollution that threatens both the ecological environment and human health. Therefore, there is an urgent need to design an effective strategy for treating complex dye wastewater. Herein, we have constructed high-purity pyrite FeS2 nanoplates as bifunctional catalysts for the simultaneous removal of dyes and arsenite (As(III)). We have developed a visible light-assisted peroxymonosulfate (PMS) activation method to remove typical organic dye pollutants (e.g., rhodamine B, malachite green, methyl orange, methylene blue) and toxic As(III). The FeS2/Light/PMS system can remove 100 % of all dye pollutants and more than 85 % of As(III) within 18 min simultaneously with high cyclic stability, which is believed to be effective in complex pollution control. It is confirmed that the multivalent Fe ions and S22− are the main active centers, and the free radical and non-free radical pathways synergistically enhance the oxidation of dye pollutants, in which SO4·- and 1O2 are the main reactive oxygen species. This work presents a facile strategy for developing a metal sulfide-based Fenton-like system for treating complex dye wastewater.

The Double U-pipe ground heat exchanger, known for its simple process, cost-effectiveness, high heat exchange efficiency, and low thermal resistance, remains the predominant type of ground heat exchanger in today’s shallow geothermal energy development and utilization. In recent years, significant research has focused on the factors influencing heat transfer and the heat exchange performance of Double U-pipe ground heat exchangers through experimental testing methods. However, studies that integrate numerical simulation with in situ testing have been less common. Utilizing the cylindrical heat source model theory and the results of regional in situ thermal response tests, this paper develops a Double U-pipe ground heat transfer model by establishing physical, mathematical, and heat transfer geometric models. It evaluates the effects of varying inlet temperatures, flow rates, and initial ground temperatures on heat exchange efficiency under heating conditions. The results confirm the accuracy of the Double U-pipe ground heat exchanger model based on in situ testing. They indicate that increasing the temperature differential between the inlet and initial temperatures, raising the initial ground temperature, and moderately enhancing the flow rate can improve the system’s heat exchange efficiency.

As a renewable energy source, geothermal energy has been widely used to provide space heating and cooling for buildings. The thermal performance of ground heat exchanger (GHE) is significant for the operating efficiency of the ground source heat pump (GSHP) systems. This paper presents a comprehensive review of developments and advances of three kinds of GHE, including vertical borehole GHE (VBGHE), Pile GHE (PGHE), and deep borehole GHE (DBGHE) which are currently popular in larger GSHP systems. Firstly, analytical models proposed to analyze heat transfer process of VBGHE with different geological conditions are summarized, such as homogenous or heterogeneous ground, with or without groundwater advection. Numerical and short-time step models and measures to improve GHE thermal performance are also reviewed. Secondly, a summary of research advances in PGHE is provided, which includes the heat transfer models of PGHE, the effects of geometric structure, operation modes, pile spacing, use of phase change material (PCM), thermal properties of PCM, thermo-mechanical behavior and/or thermal performance of PGHE. The effects of groundwater flow direction and velocity on PGHE are also summarized in brief. Lastly, models of three kinds of DBGHEs, i.e., deep coaxial GHE (DCGHE), deep U-bend GHE (DUGHE) and super-long gravity heat pipe (SLGHP), are reviewed. The physical bases of the different analytical models are elaborated and also their advantages and disadvantages are described. Advances in numerical modelling and improving numerical model calculation speed of DCBHE, DCBHE array, and DUBHE are summarized. The review provides a meaningful reference for the further study of GHEs.

BackgroundThe evidence supporting a connection between elevated serum uric acid (SUA) levels and diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) is controversial. The present study performed a comprehensive evaluation of this correlation by conducting a systematic review and meta-analysis of relevant research.MethodPubMed, Web of Science (WOS), Embase, and the Cochrane Library were searched for published literature from the establishment of each database to January 8, 2024. In total, 5 cohort studies and 15 cross-sectional studies were included, and 2 researchers independently screened and extracted relevant data. R 4.3.0 was used to evaluate the included literature. The present meta-analysis evaluated the relationship between SUA levels and the risk of DPN in type 2 diabetes (T2DM) by calculating the ratio of means (RoM) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) using the method reported by JO Friedrich, and it also analyzed continuous outcome measures using standardized mean differences (SMDs) and 95% CIs to compare SUA levels between DPN and non-DPN groups. Funnel plot and Egger’s test were used to assess publication bias. Sensitivity analysis was conducted by sequentially removing each study one-by-one.ResultsThe meta-analysis included 20 studies, with 12,952 T2DM patients with DPN and 16,246 T2DM patients without DPN. There was a significant correlation between SUA levels and the risk of developing DPN [odds ratio (OR) = 1.23; 95% CI: 1.07-1.41; p = 0.001]. Additionally, individuals with DPN had higher levels of SUA compared to those without DPN (SMD = 0.4; 95% CI: -0.11-0.91; p < 0.01).ConclusionT2DM patients with DPN have significantly elevated SUA levels, which correlate with a heightened risk of peripheral neuropathy. IntroductionBreast cancer is one of the most prevalent cancers, primarily affecting women. Among its subtypes, estrogen receptor-positive (ER+) breast cancer is particularly common. Inhibiting estrogen's effects is crucial for treating ER+ breast cancer, but current therapies often have significant side effects and limitations. Chrysin, a natural flavonoid, has shown potential in reducing estrogen receptor expression, but its poor water solubility hampers clinical application. This study explores the use of mesoporous dopamine nanoparticles (mPDA) to enhance the delivery and efficacy of Chrysin, combined with photothermal therapy (PTT), for breast cancer treatment.MethodsChrysin-loaded mPDA nanoparticles (Chrysin@mPDA) were synthesized and characterized for their morphology, drug-loading efficiency, stability, and photothermal properties. Network pharmacology was used to predict Chrysin's mechanisms in breast cancer, which were validated through gene expression analysis in cell experiments. The therapeutic efficacy of Chrysin@mPDA with and without PTT was evaluated in a mouse model of breast cancer, with tumor volume and weight measured. Immunohistochemical analysis was conducted to assess estrogen receptor expression and immune cell infiltration in tumor tissues.ResultsChrysin@mPDA nanoparticles demonstrated a high drug-loading capacity and excellent stability. Photothermal studies confirmed the nanoparticles' ability to generate heat upon laser exposure, significantly enhancing Chrysin release in acidic conditions with laser irradiation. Network pharmacology identified key target genes affected by Chrysin, including ESR1, BRCA1, CTNNB1, and BAX, which were validated through qPCR. In vivo, the combination of Chrysin@mPDA and PTT significantly reduced tumor volume and weight, decreased estrogen receptor-positive cells, and increased infiltration of CD3+CD4+ and CD3+CD8+ T cells in tumor tissues.DiscussionThe study highlights the potential of Chrysin-loaded mPDA nanoparticles combined with PTT as an effective strategy for breast cancer treatment. This approach addresses the limitations of Chrysin's solubility and enhances its therapeutic efficacy through synergistic mechanisms. The dual action of Chrysin in modulating gene expression and PTT in inducing localized hyperthermia and immune response suggests a promising avenue for improved breast cancer prognosis and reduced recurrence.

AbstractContext Si-Miao-Yong-An (SMYA) has been widely used for the clinical treatment of atherosclerosis (AS). Yet, its complete mechanism of action is not fully understood.Objective To investigate the mechanism by which SMYA stabilizes AS plaques from the perspective of inhibiting vasa vasorum (VV) angiogenesis.Materials and methods We used male ApoE-/- mice to establish an AS model. The mice were divided into model, SMYA (11.7 mg/kg/d), and simvastatin (SVTT) (2.6 mg/kg/d) groups. Mice were given SMYA or SVTT by daily gavage for 8 weeks. HE staining, immunofluorescence double-labelling staining, and immunohistochemical staining were used to observe the pathological changes in the plaques. Finally, the protein and mRNA expression levels of the Wnt1/β-catenin signalling pathway were detected by Western blot and qRT-PCR, respectively.Results SMYA significantly attenuated cholesterol crystallization, and lipid accumulation in AS plaques, resulting in smaller plaque size (0.25 mm2 vs. 0.46 mm2), and lowering ratio of plaque to lumen area (20.04% vs. 38.33%) and VV density (50.64/mm2 vs. 98.02/mm2). Meanwhile, SMYA suppressed both the positive area percentage of Wnt1 (2.53 vs. 3.56), β-catenin (3.33 vs. 5.65) and Cyclin D1 (2.10 vs. 3.27) proteins in the aortic root plaques, and mRNA expression of Wnt1 (1.38 vs. 2.09), β-catenin (2.05 vs. 3.25) and Cyclin D1 (1.39 vs. 2.57).Discussion and conclusions SMYA has a protective effect against AS, which may be related to its anti-VV angiogenesis in plaques, suggesting that SMYA has the potential as a novel botanical formulation in the treatment of AS.

Abstract Increasing evidence has confirmed the vital role of Notch signaling in the tumorigenesis of clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC). The underlying function of long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) related to Notch signaling in ccRCC remains unclear. In present study, the prognostic value and therapeutic strategy of Notch signaling-related lncRNA are comprehensively explored in ccRCC. In total, we acquired 1422 NSRlncRNAs, of which 41 lncRNAs were identified the key NSRlncRNAs associated with the occurrence of ccRCC. The prognostic signature containing five NSRlncRNAs (AC092611.2, NNT-AS1, AGAP2-AS1, AC147651.3, and AC007406.3) was established and validated, and the ccRCC patients were clustered into the high- and low-risk groups. The overall survival of patients in the low-risk group were much more favorable than those in the high-risk group. Multivariate Cox regression analysis indicated that the risk score was an independent prognostic biomarker. Based on the risk score and clinical variables, a nomogram for predicting prognosis of ccRCC patients was constructed, and the calibration curves and DCA curves showed the superior predictive ability of nomogram. The risk score was correlated with immune cell infiltration, targeted therapy or chemotherapy sensitivity, and multiple oncogenic pathways. Additionally, consensus clustering analysis stratified the ccRCC patients into four clusters with obvious different outcomes, immune microenvironments, and expression of immune checkpoints. The constructed NSRlncRNA-based signature might serve as a potential biomarker for predicting prognosis and response to immunotherapy or targeted therapy in patients with ccRCC.

Coastal wetland ecosystems are critical due to their diverse ecological and economic benefits, yet they have been significantly affected by human activities over the past century. Understanding the spatiotemporal changes and underlying factors influencing these ecosystems is crucial for developing effective ecological protection and restoration strategies. This study examines the Tianjin–Hebei coastal wetlands using topographic maps from the 1940s and Landsat satellite imagery from 1975, 2000, and 2020, supplemented by historical literature and field surveys. The aim is to analyze the distribution and classification of coastal wetlands across various temporal intervals. The findings indicate an expansion of the Tianjin–Hebei coastal wetlands from 7301.34 km2 in the 1940s to 8041.73 km2 in 2020. However, natural wetlands have declined by approximately 44.36 km2/year, while constructed wetlands have increased by around 53.61 km2/year. The wetlands have also become increasingly fragmented, with higher numbers of patches and densities. The analysis of driving factors points to human activities—such as urban construction, cultivated land reclamation, sea aquaculture, and land reclamation—as the primary contributors to these changes. Furthermore, the study addresses the ecological and environmental issues stemming from wetland changes and proposes strategies for wetland conservation. This research aims to enhance the understanding among researchers and policymakers of the dynamics and drivers of coastal wetland changes, as well as the major challenges in their protection, and to serve as a foundation for developing evidence-based conservation and restoration strategies.

To address the common issues of lacking indicator system identification, causal relationship quantification, and path simulation analysis in the current research on safety performance in prefabricated construction, a method for improving safety performance in prefabricated construction based on the decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) and NK model is proposed. Firstly, through theoretical analysis and literature review, the indicator system for safety performance in prefabricated construction is identified using the grounded theory. Secondly, expert research and quantitative analysis are combined to analyze the causal relationship of the indicators using the DEMATEL method. Then, the DEMATEL method is integrated with the NK model to carry out a key indicator adaptability modeling analysis and three-dimensional simulation. Finally, a case study is conducted to validate the usability and effectiveness of the proposed model and method. The results show that X6 (construction and implementation of safety management system) had the highest impact on the other indicators, and X14 (quality and safety status of prefabricated components) was most influenced by other indicators. X6 (construction and implementation of safety management system), X1 (personnel safety awareness and attitude), X14 (quality and safety status of prefabricated components), and X12 (construction site working environment) were identified as key performance indicators. “X6 (construction and implementation of safety management system) → X1 (personnel safety awareness and attitude) → X14 (quality and safety status of prefabricated components) → X12 (construction site working environment)” was considered the optimal path to improve construction safety performance.

The accurate prediction of scallion prices can not only optimize supply chain management and help related practitioners and consumers to make more reasonable purchasing decisions, but also provide guidance for farmers’ planting choices, thus enhancing market efficiency and promoting the sustainable development of the whole industry. This study adopts the idea of decomposition–denoising–aggregation, using three decomposition and denoising techniques combined with three single prediction models to form a base model. Various base models are divided into different combinations based on whether the computational structure is the same or not, and the optimal weights of the combinations are determined by using the improved particle swarm optimization–genetic algorithm (PSO-GA) optimization algorithm in different combinations. The experimental results show that the scallion price in Shandong Province from 2014 to 2023 shows an overall upward trend, and there is a cyclical and seasonal fluctuation pattern of “high in winter and low in summer”; the semi-heterogeneous-PSO-GA model reduces the MAPE by 49.03% and improves the directional accuracy by 41.52%, compared to the optimal single prediction model, ARIMA. In summary, the combined model has the most accurate prediction and strong robustness, which can provide ideas and references for the difficult problem of determining the optimal weights of the combined model in the field of predicting the prices of agricultural products.

Moderate exercise decreases the risk for atrial fibrillation (AF), an effect which is probably mediated via exercise-stimulated release of exerkines. β-Aminoisobutyric acid (BAIBA), a novel exerkine, has been reported to provide protective benefits against many cardiovascular diseases, yet its role in AF remains elusive. Herein, using a mouse model of obesity-related AF through high-fat diet (HFD) feeding, we found that 12-week drinking administration of BAIBA (170 mg/kg/day) decreased AF susceptibility in obese mice. Atrial remodeling assessment showed that BAIBA attenuated obesity-induced atrial hypertrophy and interstitial fibrosis, thereby ablating the substrate for AF. Of note, to our knowledge, this is the first report of the direct association of BAIBA and hypertrophy. BAIBA has been reported to be a key regulator of glucose and lipid metabolism, and we found that BAIBA alleviated insulin resistance in obese mice. Transcriptional analysis of metabolism-related genes showed that BAIBA increased the transcription of fatty acids metabolism-related genes in the atria of lean mice but not in that of obese mice. Mechanistic investigation showed that BAIBA stimulated AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) signaling in the atria of obese mice and palmitic acid (PA)-treated neonatal rat cardiomyocytes (NRCM), whereas inhibition of AMPK via Compound C attenuated BAIBA-conferred cardioprotection against hypertrophy and insulin resistance in PA-treated NRCM. Collectively, BAIBA attenuates AF susceptibility in obese mice via activated AMPK signaling and resultant improvement of insulin sensitivity, thereby providing perspectives on the potential therapeutic role of BAIBA in AF treatment.

Background: Although laparoscopic common bile duct exploration (LCBDE) is considered a safe and effective method for the removal of bile duct stones, selecting primary duct closure (PDC) or T-tube drainage (TTD) following choledochotomy remains controversial. This study aims to explore the clinical effects of PDC and TTD after LCBDE. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed clinical data of 348 patients with choledocholithiasis treated with LCBDE from January 2016 to October 2020. All patients were divided into PDC (225 cases) and TTD (123 cases) groups. Propensity score matching (PSM) was performed. We compared operative parameters and outcomes. Results: After matching (n = 116/group), no significant difference was observed between the two groups (P > 0.05) regarding intra-abdominal infection, incision infection, bile leakage, and retained stones. In terms of operation time, intraoperative blood loss, postoperative hospital stay, postoperative exhaust time, postoperative antibiotic use time, and postoperative abdominal drainage time, PDC group was obviously superior to TTD group (P

Deep neural networks have played a crucial role in the field of deep learning, achieving significant success in practical applications. The architecture of neural networks is key to their performance. In the past few years, these architectures have been manually designed by experts with rich domain knowledge. Additionally, the optimal neural network architecture can vary depending on specific tasks and data distributions. Neural Architecture Search (NAS) is a class of techniques aimed at automatically searching for and designing neural network architectures according to the given tasks and data. Specifically, evolutionary-computation-based NAS methods are known for their strong global search capability and have aroused widespread interest in recent years. Although evolutionary-computation-based NAS has achieved success in a wide range of research and applications, it still faces bottlenecks in training and evaluating a large number of individuals during optimization. In this study, we first devise a multi-objective evolutionary NAS framework based on a weight-sharing supernet to improve the search efficiency of traditional evolutionary-computation-based NAS. This framework combines the population optimization characteristic of evolutionary algorithms with the weight-sharing ideas in one-shot models. We then design a bi-population MOEA/D algorithm based on the proposed framework to effectively solve the NAS problem. By constructing two sub-populations with different optimization objectives, the algorithm can effectively explore network architectures of various sizes in complex search spaces. An inter-population communication mechanism further enhances the algorithm’s exploratory capability, enabling it to find network architectures with uniform distribution and high diversity. Finally, we conduct performance comparison experiments on image classification datasets of different scales and complexities. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed multi-objective evolutionary NAS framework and the practicality and transferability of the introduced bi-population MOEA/D-based NAS method compared to existing state-of-the-art NAS methods.

Blindly developing shallow geothermal energy (SGE) may lead to difficulties in reinjection, a low coefficient of performance (COP), and the waste of funds. In order to avoid these problems and improve development efficiency, it is necessary to scientifically conduct a development suitability evaluation and classify the suitability levels before development. This article takes Chengde City, Hebei Province, China as an example and constructs an evaluation index system based on the analysis of regional basic conditions. The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) was used to calculate the constant weight. A Fuzzy C-means Clustering (FCM) analysis was used to determine the critical value of evaluation index classification and the interval threshold of variable weights. The parameters of the variable-weight model were calculated using the method of model backcalculation. Based on the constructed variable-weight model, the suitability of SGE development for groundwater sources in the study area was evaluated, and it was divided into five levels: most suitable area, suitable area, relatively suitable area, less suitable area, and unsuitable area. Through a verification analysis of engineering examples and a comparison with the evaluation results under traditional constant-weight models, it was found that the evaluation results based on variable weight theory have better data discreteness and a higher accuracy. Research has shown that variable-weight models can adjust the weight of each index based on its state value. Through this study, the accuracy of the suitability evaluation for regional SGE development can be improved. This can provide a certain reference for the suitability evaluation of SGE development in other regions.

Abstract Myocardial infarction (MI) resulting from coronary artery occlusion is the leading global cause of cardiovascular disability and mortality. Anti-inflammatory treatment plays an important role in MI treatment. Triptolide (TPL), as a Chinese medicine monomer, has a variety of biological functions, including anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, and immunoregulation. However, it has been proved that TPL is poorly water soluble, and has clear hepatotoxicity and nephrotoxicity, which seriously limits its clinical application. Herein, we designed a long-acting hydrogel platform (TPL@PLGA@F127) for MI treatment by intramyocardial injection. First, we found that the inflammatory response and immune regulation might be the main mechanisms of TPL against MI by network pharmacology. Subsequently, we prepared the hydrogel platform (TPL@PLGA@F127) and tested its effects and toxicity on normal organs in the early stage of MI (3 days after MI-operation). The results showed that TPL@PLGA@F127 could not only promote “repair” macrophages polarization (to M2 macrophage) by day 3 after MI, but also has a long-lasting anti-inflammatory effect in the later stage of MI (28 days after MI-operation). Additionally, we proved that TPL@PLGA@F127 could attenuate the toxicity of TPL by releasing it more slowly and stably. Finally, we observed the long-term effects of TPL@PLGA@F127 on MI and found that it could improve cardiac function, depress the myocardial fibrosis and protect the cardiomyocytes. In summary, this study indicated that TPL@PLGA@F127 could not only enhance the therapeutic effects of TPL on MI, but also attenuate the hepatotoxicity and nephrotoxicity, which established a strong foundation for the clinical application of TPL for MI.

One of the crucial factors in grain storage is appropriate moisture content, which plays a significant role in reducing storage losses and ensuring quality. However, currently available humidity sensors on the market fail to meet the demands of modern large-scale grain storage in China in terms of price, size, and ease of implementation. Therefore, this study aims to develop an economical, efficient, and easily deployable grain humidity sensor suitable for large-scale grain storage environments. Simultaneously, it constructs humidity calibration models applicable to three major grain crops: millet, rice, and wheat. Starting with the probe structure, this study analyzes the ideal probe structure for grain humidity sensors. Experimental validations are conducted using millet, rice, and wheat as experimental subjects to verify the accuracy of the sensor and humidity calibration models. The experimental results indicate that the optimal length of the probe under ideal conditions is 0.67 m. Humidity calibration models for millet, rice, and wheat are constructed using SVM models, with all three models achieving a correlation coefficient R2 greater than 0.9. The measured data and model-calculated data show a linear relationship, closely approximating y = x, with R2 values of all three fitted models above 0.9. In conclusion, this study provides reliable sensor technological support for humidity monitoring in large-scale grain storage and processing, with extensive applications in grain storage and grain safety management.

Porous tungsten gradient materials with ordered gradient variations in pore size have significant application value in the field of vacuum electronic devices. This work combines tape casting and dealloying methods to achieve the integrated preparation of porous tungsten gradient materials with a wide range of controllable porosity. The study focused on the phase composition and microstructure evolution during the preparation of porous tungsten gradient materials. The results show that the tape casting process allows for the precise and controllable thickness of each layer of the porous tungsten materials and uniform composition structure, while the stepwise dealloying of Fe and Ti enables a wide range of controllable porosity for the porous tungsten gradient materials. PVB, after thermal decomposition, provides a carbon source for the in situ reaction to form W-Fe-C compounds, and the surface diffusion behavior of W-Fe-C compounds at high temperatures improves the stratification of the porous tungsten gradient materials. This work provides a design concept for the integrated preparation of porous metal gradient materials.

This study aims to theoretically explore the technological systems of tropical island zero-carbon building (TIZCB) to scientifically understand the characteristics of these buildings in terms of energy utilization, energy conservation, energy production, and intelligent system mechanisms. The purpose is to address the inefficiencies and resource wastage caused by the traditional segmented approach to building energy consumption management. Thus, it seeks to achieve a comprehensive understanding and application of the zero-carbon building (ZCB) technology system. This article focuses on the demands for energy-efficient comfort and innovative industrialization in construction. Through an analysis of the characteristics of TIZCB and an explanation of their concepts, it establishes a theoretical framework for examining the system mechanisms of these buildings. Additionally, it delves into the energy utilization, energy conservation, energy production, and intelligent system from macro, meso, and micro perspectives. This approach results in the development of an implementation strategy for studying the mechanisms of energy usage, conservation, and intelligent production systems in TIZCB. The results show that: (1) this study delves into the theoretical underpinnings of TIZCB, emphasizing their evolution from a foundation of low-carbon and near-zero energy consumption. The primary goal is to achieve zero carbon emissions during building operation, with reliance on renewable energy sources. Design considerations prioritize adaptation to high-temperature and high-humidity conditions, integrating regional culture along with the utilization of new materials and technologies. (2) A comprehensive technical framework for TIZCB is proposed, encompassing energy utilization, conservation, production capacity, and intelligent systems. Drawing from systems theory, control theory, and synergy theory, the research employs a macro–meso–micro analytical framework, offering extensive theoretical support for the practical aspects of design and optimization. (3) The research implementation plan establishes parameterized models, unveiling the intricate relationships with building performance. It provides optimized intelligent system design parameters for economically viable zero-carbon operations. This study contributes theoretical and practical support for the sustainable development of TIZCB and aligns with the dual carbon strategy in China and the clean energy free trade zone construction in Hainan.

Faced with the challenges of global climate change, zero-carbon buildings (ZCB) serve as a crucial means to achieve carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals, particularly in the development of tropical island regions. This study aims to establish a ZCB technology system suitable for the unique climatic conditions of tropical islands. By employing methods such as energy flow boundaries, parametric design, and data-driven optimization algorithms, the research systematically analyzes the integrated mechanisms and optimization solutions for energy utilization, energy conservation, energy production, and intelligent systems. The study identifies and addresses key technical challenges faced by ZCB in tropical island regions, including the accurate identification of system design parameters, the precise quantification of the relationship between design parameters and building performance, and the comprehensive optimization of technical and economic goals for zero-carbon operational design solutions. The research results not only provide a comprehensive theoretical framework, promoting the development of architectural design theory, but also establish a practical framework for technology and methods, advancing the integration and application of ZCB technology. The study holds significant practical implications for the green transformation of the tropical island construction industry and the realization of national dual-carbon strategic goals. Future research should further explore the applicability of the technology system and the economic feasibility of optimized design solutions, promoting continuous innovation and development in ZCB technology.

ObjectiveThis paper examines the impact of healthcare industry convergence on the performance of the public health system in the eastern, central, and western regions of China.MethodsPublic health performance was measured by a composite index of three standards: average life expectancy at birth, perinatal mortality, and maternal mortality. The healthcare industry convergence was measured using a coupling coordination degree method. The spatial lag, spatial error, and spatial Durbin models were used to estimate the effect of healthcare industry convergence on public health system performance and this effect’s spatial dependence and heterogeneity across eastern, central, and western China using panel data from 30 Chinese provinces from 2002 to 2019.ResultsThe convergence of the healthcare industry significantly promotes regional public health [β =0.576, 95% CI: (0.331,0.821)]. However, the convergence does not have a spatial spillover effect on the public health system at the national level. Additionally, analysis of regional heterogeneity shows that the direct effects of healthcare industry convergence on public health are positive and statistically significant for Eastern China, statistically insignificant for Central China, and positive and statistically significant for Western China. The indirect effects are negative, statistically significant, positive, statistically significant, and statistically insignificant for these three regions, respectively.ConclusionPolicy efforts should strengthen the convergence between the healthcare industry and relevant industries. It can produce more current healthcare services to improve public health and reduce regional health inequality.

Abstract Inflammatory regulation induced by macrophage polarization is essential for cardiac repair after myocardial infarction (MI). Berberin (BBR) is an isoquinoline tetrasystemic alkaloid extracted from plants. This study analyzes the most likely mechanism of BBR in MI treatment determined via network pharmacology, showing that BBR acts mainly through inflammatory responses. Because platelets (PLTs) can be enriched in the infarcted myocardium, PLT membrane-coated polylactic-co-glycolic acid (PLGA) nanoparticles (BBR@PLGA@PLT NPs) are used, which show enrichment in the infarcted myocardium to deliver BBR sustainably. Compared with PLGA nanoparticles, BBR@PLGA@PLT NPs are more enriched in the infarcted myocardium and exhibit less uptake in the liver. On day three after MI, BBR@PLGA@PLT NPs administration significantly increases the number of repaired macrophages and decreases the number of inflammatory macrophages and apoptotic cells in infarcted rat myocardium. On the 28th day after MI, the BBR@PLGA@PLT group exhibits a protective effect on cardiac function, reduced cardiac collagen deposition, improved scar tissue stiffness, and an excellent angiogenesis effect. In addition, BBR@PLGA@PLT group has no significant impact on major organs either histologically or enzymologically. In summary, the therapeutic effect of BBR@PLGA@PLT NPs on MI is presented in detail from the perspective of the resolution of inflammation, and a new solution for MI treatment is proposed. Chronic spinal cord compression (CSCC) is induced by disc herniation and other reasons, leading to movement and sensation dysfunction, with a serious impact on quality of life. Spontaneous disc herniation rarely occurs in rodents, and therefore establishing a chronic spinal cord compression (CSCC) animal model is of crucial importance to explore the pathogenesis and treatment of CSCC. The absence of secreted protein, acidic, and rich in cysteine (SPARC) leads to spontaneous intervertebral disc degeneration in mice, which resembles human disc degeneration. In this study, we evaluated whether SPARC-null mice may serve as an animal model for CSCC. We performed rod rotation test, pain threshold test, gait analysis, and Basso Mouse Scale score. Our results showed that the motor function of SPARC-null mice was weakened, and magnetic resonance images revealed compression at different spinal cord levels, particularly in the lumbar segments. Immunofluorescence staining and western blot assay showed that the absence of SPARC induced apoptosis of neurons and oligodendrocytes, activation of microglia/macrophages with M1/M2 phenotype and astrocytes with A1/A2 phenotype; it also activated the expression of the NOD-like receptor protein 3 inflammasome and inhibited brain-derived neurotrophic factor/tyrosine kinase B signaling pathway. Notably, these findings are characteristics of CSCC. Therefore, we propose that SPARC-null mice may be an animal model for studying CSCC caused by disc herniation.

Abstract Background Electrical storm (ES) is a heterogeneous clinical emergency that can present with malignant ventricular arrhythmias such as ventricular fibrillation (VF), ventricular tachycardia (VT), requiring the need for cardiac defibrillation. ES is a life-threatening condition with a high mortality rate. Successfully managing ES in the setting of acute myocardial infarction (MI) is expected to be known by physicians on call to reduce in-hospital mortality. Case presentation A 57-year-old man presenting with acute onset chest pain was found to have an infero-posterior ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) complicated by acute right ventricular MI secondary to total occlusion of the proximal right coronary artery (RCA). The patient developed ES in the form of recurrent VF that was managed successfully with electrical defibrillation, antiarrhythmic therapy with amiodarone and esmolol, endotracheal intubation, sedation, electrolyte replacement, volume resuscitation, comfort care, psychological intervention, and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) of the occluded epicardial artery. With these interventions used in quick succession and with the aspiration of a massive RCA thrombus, the patient was reversed to hemodynamic stability, did not have further episodes of VF, and survived the index hospitalization. Conclusion ES is a rare but fatal complication of acute MI. Residents on night shifts should be better prepared and equipped to deal with this rare condition. We hope our successful experience can benefit physicians on call who take care of acute MI patients that deteriorate with ES.

And to solve the current situation and difficulties, put forward relevant policies and suggestions. It mainly includes suggestions to promote the construction of Sichuan electric power transmission channel, to call on the state to establish a policy mechanism to ensure Sichuan clean energy transmission and absorption, to arrange the development scale and progress of natural gas distributed energy, new energy, and other power sources in a reasonable and orderly manner. It is suggested that the development scale and progress of various power sources such as natural gas distributed energy and new energy should be reasonably and orderly arranged.

Objective To explore basic characteristics and related influencing factors of white hair in females in Guangzhou city, and to provide clinical data for the intervention of white hair. Methods A total of 146 females with white hair, aged 18-60 years, were recruited from the Dermatology Hospital, Southern Medical University and the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from November 2021 and May 2022. Questionnaire survey and dermatological physical examination were carried out. Subjects were divided into early or late premature hair graying (PHG). Data analysis included single-factor analysis of 11 factors (BMI, dietary habits, hair ironing and dyeing habits, sleeping habits and so on), and multiple factor analysis of 5 factors, i.e., BMI, dietary habits, physical exercise frequency, familial history of PHG, smoking or a history of exposure to second hand smoke. Results ① The median age of initial appearance of white hair was 35.50 years, of which 56 cases (38.36%) were early PHG. Initial involved sites were mainly the vertex and frontal scalp. Localized and diffuse white hair accounted for 59.59% (87 cases) and 40.41% (59 cases), respectively. Forty-nine (87.50%) subjects in PHG group were mild (number of white hair: 100). The effects of induction quenching with different current frequency on the surface hardness， tooth root hardness， tooth core hardness， hardness gradient and metallography of gear shafts are analyzed and discussed by carburizing， tempering and induction quenching experiments of heavy-duty gear shafts. The results show that carburizing， quenching and tempering and induction quenching of 18Cr2Ni4WA steel gear shafts can effectively improve the surface hardness of the workpiece to more than 58 HRC， and improve the hardness gradient value of hardened layer. Improve the metallographic structure of hardened layer， and ensure the best hardness of the tooth core， so as to increase the bending fatigue strength of gear shafts. Therefore， a heat treatment method is provided for the low carbon alloy steel gear material containing more Cr， Ni， W and Mo after carburizing， which can improve the product quality.

Randomized controlled experiments have shown that face-to-face teaching is more effective in delivering various learning outcomes than asynchronous online teaching. Unlike the asynchronous online teaching mode, the synchronous online mode has a live instruction component and is more comparable to the face-to-face mode. A small-sized randomized controlled experiment involving 50 students showed that there was no significant difference in student ratings on the effectiveness between the face-to-face and synchronous online teaching modes. Prior to the current study, no medium-or large-sized randomized controlled experiment had been conducted for comparing the two modes. The current study aims to fill in the gap by comparing the effectiveness of face-to-face (i.e., intervention) and synchronous online (i.e., control) teaching through a randomized controlled experiment involving 725 students from seven statistics courses offered by the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science at the University of Hong Kong. Results show that the difference in learning outcomes between the two modes is not statistically significant. The class size is an effect modifier that students assigned to the face-to-face mode have significantly higher final weighted and final exam scores if they have face-to-face lessons with 25 students or fewer. The Pass/Fail grading option has a significantly negative effect on course performance.

Oily wastewater seriously endangers human health. Ti3C2Tx MXene has attracted extensive attention as a building block for separating membranes because of its unique two-dimensional structure and excellent hydrophilicity. In this study, we constructed a superwetting Ti3C2Tx MXene membrane intercalated with sodium alginate. The hydrophilic sodium alginate not only enlarged the nanochannel of the MXene membrane but also decorated the membrane surface and endowed the membrane with excellent surface superwetting properties. The underwater oil contact angle (OCA) was about 151°, indicating an extremely low adhesion between oil and membrane surface. The membrane could also separate a series of oil-water emulsions with high separation efficiency and flux. Due to its excellent underwater superoleophobicity, the membrane demonstrated outstanding antifouling property. Excellent separation performance was maintained even after separation cycles. This work provides insights into the rational use of MXene-based membranes design and demonstrates its potential in the field of membrane separation.

A comprehensive study of an ungrouped achondrite meteorite, North West Africa (NWA) 11562, was conducted, involving petrology, mineralogy, and mass-independent chromium isotopic composition. NWA 11562 comprises 34.9 vol% olivine, 56.1 vol% pyroxenes, 6.7 vol% Fe–Ni metal and oxides, 2.2 vol% carbon, and 0.2 vol% anhydrite. The oxygen isotopic composition ( δ ^18 O = 6.24‰ ± 0.13‰ and Δ ^17 O = −1.81‰ ± 0.03‰; Meteoritical Bulletin Database) and chromium isotopic compositions ( ε ^54 Cr = −0.82 ± 0.10, 2SE) are consistent with NWA 11562 being a ureilite, and petrographic observations show features similar to those of the common ureilite group meteorites. Olivine (core: Fo _99.0 ± 0.1; rim: Fo _98.9 ± 0.1 ) and pyroxene (orthopyroxene: Mg# 99.0 ± 0.2; clinopyroxene: Mg# 99.1 ± 0.7) core compositions are more magnesian than in any previously known ureilite and lack the characteristic reduction rims of ureilites. Rounded small olivine grains within NWA 11562 indicate that the meteorite experienced impact and associated melting. Combined with the characteristic Fe/Mn ratio (3.84 ± 0.16) and Mg# (99.0 ± 0.1) of olivine cores, we suggest that NWA 11562 represents a more Mg-rich ureilite than any previously reported. NWA 11562 has a high ^55 Mn/ ^52 Cr ratio, and when combined with literature data, it plots on a well-defined ^53 Mn– ^53 Cr isochron, providing a more accurate age, i.e., 4566.7 ± 0.8 Ma, overlapping previous work. This age may represent the result of early partial melting of the ureilite parent body.

The discharge of warm water from water source heat pump (WSHP) energy stations can cause local changes in the water temperature, leading to changes in the water quality around and downstream of the discharge outlet, resulting in a cumulative effect that alters the aquatic habitat elements and affects the ecosystem stability. This study took the demonstration project of the water source heat pump energy station in the Hankou Binjiang International Business District of Wuhan City as an example. Based on measured data, this study established the control equation for the warm water discharge of the project and used FLUENT 2022 R1 software to establish a numerical model of warm water diffusion. This study analyzed the changes in discharge water temperature during unfavorable conditions in both summer and winter during dry and wet seasons by using four parameters: equal area surface, volume, length, and width of the area of influence. The results suggest that the impact of the project’s warm water discharge on the temperature of the river body will quickly decay and its impact range will be limited. Hence, the project will not have adverse effects on the water and ecological environment in the mid–lower reaches of the Yangtze River.

A passive localization algorithm based on UAV aerial images and Angle of Arrival (AOA) is proposed to solve the target passive localization problem. In this paper, the images are captured using fixed-focus shooting. A target localization factor is defined to eliminate the effect of focal length and simplify calculations. To synchronize the positions of multiple UAVs, a dynamic navigation coordinate system is defined with the leader at its center. The target positioning factor is calculated based on image information and azimuth elements within the UAV photoelectric reconnaissance device. The covariance equation is used to derive AOA, which is then used to obtain the target coordinate value by solving the joint UAV swarm positional information. The accuracy of the positioning algorithm is verified by actual aerial images. Based on this, an error model is established, the calculation method of the co-localization PDOP is given, and the correctness of the error model is verified through the simulation of the Monte Carlo statistical method. At the end of the article, the trackless Kalman filter algorithm is designed to improve positioning accuracy, and the simulation analysis is performed on the stationary and moving states of the target. The experimental results show that the algorithm can significantly improve the target positioning accuracy and ensure stable tracking of the target.

Abstract Background Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is more prone to distant metastasis and visceral recurrence in comparison to other breast cancer subtypes, and is related to dismal prognosis. Nevertheless, TNBC has an undesirable response to targeted therapies. Therefore, to tackle the huge challenges in the diagnosis and treatment of TNBC, Nectin-4 was selected as a theranostic target because it was recently found to be highly expressed in TNBC. We developed anti-Nectin-4 monoclonal antibody (mAbNectin-4)-based theranostic pair, 99mTc-HYNIC-mAbNectin-4 and mAbNectin-4-ICG. 99mTc-HYNIC-mAbNectin-4 was applied to conduct immuno-single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) for TNBC diagnosis and classification, and mAbNectin-4-ICG to mediate photothermal therapy (PTT) for relieving TNBC tumor growth. Methods Nectin-4 expression levels of breast cancer cells (MDA-MB-468: TNBC cells; and MCF-7, non-TNBC cells) were proved by western blot, flow cytometry, and immunofluorescence imagning. Cell uptake assays, SPECT imaging, and biodistribution were performed to evaluate Nectin-4 targeting of 99mTc-HYNIC-mAbNectin-4. A photothermal agent (PTA) mAbNectin-4-ICG was generated and characterized. In vitro photothermal therapy (PTT) mediated by mAbNectin-4-ICG was conducted under an 808 nm laser. Fluorescence (FL) imaging was performed for mAbNectin-4-ICG mapping in vivo. In vivo PTT treatment effects on TNBC tumors and corresponding systematic toxicity were evaluated. Results Nectin-4 is overexpressed in MDA-MB-468 TNBC cells, which could specifically uptake 99mTc-HYNIC-mAbNectin-4 with high targeting in vitro. The corresponding immunoSPECT imaging demonstrated exceptional performance in TNBC diagnosis and molecular classification. mAbNectin-4-ICG exhibited favourable biocompatibility, photothermal effects, and Nectin-4 targeting. FL imaging mapped biodistribution of mAbNectin-4-ICG with excellent tumor-targeting and retention in vivo. Moreover, mAbNectin-4-ICG-mediated PTT provided advanced TNBC tumor destruction efficiency with low systematic toxicity. Conclusion mAbNectin-4-based radioimmunoimaging provides visualization tools for the stratification and diagnosis for TNBC, and the corresponding mAbNectin-4-mediated PTT shows a powerful anti-tumor effect. Our findings demonstrate that this Nectin-4 targeting strategy offers a simple theranostic platform for TNBC.

Abstract Background Injectable hydrogels have great promise in the treatment of myocardial infarction (MI); however, the lack of electromechanical coupling of the hydrogel to the host myocardial tissue and the inability to monitor the implantation may compromise a successful treatment. The introduction of conductive biomaterials and mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) may solve the problem of electromechanical coupling and they have been used to treat MI. In this study, we developed an injectable conductive nanocomposite hydrogel (GNR@SN/Gel) fabricated by gold nanorods (GNRs), synthetic silicate nanoplatelets (SNs), and poly(lactide-co-glycolide)-b-poly (ethylene glycol)-b-poly(lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA-PEG-PLGA). The hydrogel was used to encapsulate MSCs and 68Ga3+ cations, and was then injected into the myocardium of MI rats to monitor the initial hydrogel placement and to study the therapeutic effect via 18F-FDG myocardial PET imaging. Results Our data showed that SNs can act as a sterically stabilized protective shield for GNRs, and that mixing SNs with GNRs yields uniformly dispersed and stabilized GNR dispersions (GNR@SN) that meet the requirements of conductive nanofillers. We successfully constructed a thermosensitive conductive nanocomposite hydrogel by crosslinking GNR@SN with PLGA2000-PEG3400-PLGA2000, where SNs support the proliferation of MSCs. The cation-exchange capability of SNs was used to adsorb 68Ga3+ to locate the implanted hydrogel in myocardium via PET/CT. The combination of MSCs and the conductive hydrogel had a protective effect on both myocardial viability and cardiac function in MI rats compared with controls, as revealed by 18F-FDG myocardial PET imaging in early and late stages and ultrasound; this was further validated by histopathological investigations. Conclusions The combination of MSCs and the GNR@SN/Gel conductive nanocomposite hydrogel offers a promising strategy for MI treatment. Graphical Abstract

Abstract We employed MC‐ICP‐MS to measure the mass‐dependent Ca isotope compositions of Vesta‐related meteorites. Eucrites and diogenites show distinct Ca isotope compositions, which is caused by crystallization of isotopically heavy orthopyroxene. The Ca isotope data support a model where the two lithologies are linked, where the diogenites, mainly composed of orthopyroxene crystallized from an eucritic melt. As normal eucrites are the main Ca reservoir on Vesta, their δ44/40Ca values (per mil 44Ca/40Ca ratios relative to NIST 915a) best represents that of bulk silicate Vesta (0.83 ± 0.04‰). This value is different from those of bulk Earth (0.94 ± 0.05‰) and Mars (1.04 ± 0.07‰), suggesting that there exists notable Ca isotope heterogeneity between inner solar system bodies. The δ44/40Ca difference between chondrules and these planets does not support the pebble accretion model as the main mechanism for planetary growth.

Abstract Background Bladder cancer (BLCA) is a malignant tumor with a dismay outcome. Increasing evidence has confirmed that chromatin regulators (CRs) are involved in cancer progression. Therefore, we aimed to explore the function and prognostic value of CRs in BLCA patients. Methods Chromatin regulators (CRs) were acquired from the previous top research. The mRNA expression and clinical information were downloaded from TCGA and GEO datasets. Cox regression analysis and least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) regression analysis were performed to select the prognostic gene and construct the risk model for predicting outcome in BLCA. The Kaplan-Meier analysis was used to assess the prognosis between high- and low-risk groups. We also investigated the drug sensitivity difference between high- and low-risk groups. CMAP dataset was performed to screen the small molecule drugs for treatment. Results We successfully constructed and validated an 11 CRs-based model for predicting the prognosis of patients with BLCA. Moreover, we also found 11 CRs-based model was an independent prognostic factor. Functional analysis suggested that CRs were mainly enriched in cancer-related signaling pathways. The CR-based model was also correlated with immune cells infiltration and immune checkpoint. Patients in the high-risk group were more sensitive to several drugs, such as mitomycin C, gemcitabine, cisplatin. Eight small molecule drugs could be beneficial to treatment for BLCA patients. Conclusion: In conclusion, our study provided novel insights into the function of CRs in BLCA. We identified a reliable prognostic biomarker for the survival of patients with BLCA.

Abstract Background To investigate the relationship between an oval optic disc and the occurrence of myopic foveoschisis (MF) using swept-source optic coherence tomography (SS-OCT). Methods Fifty eyes of 25 patients with unilateral MF were included in this retrospective observational study. The biometric features of the optic disc and peripapillary structures were evaluated using SS-OCT. Results The ovality index (OI) of the optic disc was significantly smaller (P = 0.003) and the optic disc tilt angle was greater (P = 0.023) in the eyes with MF than in the contralateral eyes. The optic disc tilt angle was significantly correlated with the OI (P = 0.000). Generalized estimating equation (GEE) model (linear regression) demonstrated that spherical equivalent refraction (P = 0.001), narrow macular staphyloma (P = 0.001) and the occurrence of MF (P = 0.026) were the independent factors associated with the OI. Narrow macular staphyloma was more frequent (P = 0.020) and the staphyloma was deeper (P = 0.006) in eyes with MF. GEE model (logistic regression) revealed that narrow macular staphyloma was the only independent factor related to the occurrence of MF (P = 0.013). Conclusions An oval optic disc in eyes with MF resulted from the increased tilt around the vertical disc axis. The optic disc tilt was related to narrow macular staphyloma, which was the only independent factor associated with the occurrence of MF. The clinical relevance needs further exploration through longitudinal analysis.

Shallow geothermal energy (SGE), as an important renewable energy, playing an important role in reducing carbon emissions. In order to efficiently and sustainably utilize SGE, field investigation and storage estimation are needed. In this study, the hydrogeological data obtained from the field exploration of Jinan Start-up Area were collected and compiled. By analyzing the geotechnical property data and thermal response test results, the information of geotechnical and thermal properties and underground temperature distribution characteristics were collected. Subsequently, the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) combined with the comprehensive index method (CIM) were used to classify the shallow geothermal potential of Jinan Start-up Area. The entire area was divided into a high-potential area, medium-potential area and general area, of which 92.2% was high-potential area. The preliminary results, combined with the parameters obtained from the testing, indicate that the SGE storage at a borehole depth of 120 m is estimated to be approximately 2.68 × 1012 kJ·K−1, while the heat exchanger power of the buried pipe at the same depth is calculated to be around 1.73 × 105 kW. Finally, suggestions are given for sustainable development and utilization of SGE in this area.

In order to accomplish accurate mushroom classification and measurement, it is necessary to optimize the existing classification algorithm and measurement devices, as well as to design a specific robot to improve classification accuracy and measurement efficiency. In order to achieve the above objectives, a research-level verification of mushroom grading using Yolov5 + OpenCV and a mushroom measuring system using a resistance strain gauge sensor was carried out. In the aspect of mushroom grading, a method based on the OpenCV visual library was used to identify the minimum quadrilateral outside the mushroom contour, allowing the size of the mushroom to be measured. The experiment’s results show that the method can assess target objects that are occluded with each other under different illumination conditions with 96% accuracy. In the measurement of mushrooms, the strain of the resistance is converted into an analog signal, and the weight of different grades of mushrooms is converted according to the linear relationship after processing by the detection circuit module. Through this method, the error range is successfully controlled within ±0.02 kg, which meets the requirements of accurate measurement of mushrooms. The results of field experiments show that the proposed accurate grading and measurement method of Lentinula edodes is effective and feasible, and provides technical support for the intelligent grading and measurement of Lentinula edodes in production units.

In response to the common issues of lacking a comprehensive quantitative assessment system and insufficient dynamic understanding of emergency response capability in prefabricated construction safety, this study proposes a research methodology based on decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) and fuzzy cognitive maps (FCM) to promote the construction of emergency response capacity. Firstly, a quantitative evaluation indicator system comprising 4 core categories of organizational management, personnel quality, technical measures, and emergency resources, along with 16 main categories, is established using grounded theory and three levels of coding approach. Subsequently, through a combination of expert surveys and quantitative analysis, DEMATEL is employed to unveil the causal relationships and key indicators of the evaluation criteria. Next, the DEMATEL and FCM models are integrated to conduct predictive and diagnostic reasoning analysis based on key indicators. Finally, a case study is conducted to validate the usability and effectiveness of the proposed model and methodology. The results demonstrate that indicators related to organizational management and personnel quality belong to the cause group, while technical measures and emergency resources fall into the effect group. The “completeness of emergency plans” exhibits the most significant influence on other indicators and is also the most influenced indicator by others. Predictive reasoning analysis reveals that well-controlled “emergency organizational structure and procedures” are crucial for enhancing emergency response capacity. Diagnostic reasoning analysis indicates that the improvement of emergency response capability should focus on enhancing the “completeness of emergency plans”. The synergistic effect between “emergency organizational structure and procedures” and “completeness of emergency plans” contributes to the enhancement of emergency response capability in prefabricated construction safety. The study holds both theoretical and practical significance for advancing safety management in prefabricated construction. Considering the dynamic coupling of multiple factors will be the primary direction of research in the field of safety management in the future.

Background: Clear cell renal cell carcinoma (CCRCC) has a high incidence and poor prognosis. Cuproptosis, an independent pattern of cell death associated with copper, plays an important role in cancer proliferation and metastasis. The role of cuproptosis-related genes (CRGs) in CCRCC is unclear.Methods: Transcriptome and clinical information for CCRCC were downloaded from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database. After dividing the training and testing cohort, a 4-CRGs risk signature (FDX1, DLD, DLAT, CDKN2A) was identified in the training cohort using Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) and Cox regression analysis. The effect of the 4-CRGs risk signature on prognosis was assessed using Kaplan-Meier (KM) curves and time-dependent receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves and verified using the testing cohort. For different risk groups, the immune statue was assessed using the CIBERSORT algorithm, the ssGSEA method and immune checkpoint expression data. Finally, a competitive endogenous RNA (ceRNA) network was constructed using miRTarbase and starBase databases to identify molecules that may have a regulatory relationship with CRCCC.Results: There were significant changes in the overall survival (OS), immune microenvironment, immune function, and checkpoint gene expression among the different risk groups. A ceRNA network consisting of one mRNA, two miRNAs, and 12 lncRNAs was constructed.Conclusion: The 4-CRGs risk signature provides a new method to predict the prognosis of patients with CCRCC and the effect of immunotherapy. We propose a new cuproptosis-associated ceRNA network that can help to further explore the molecular mechanisms of CCRCC.

BackgroundSeveral studies have summarized the clinical performance of direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) in atrial fibrillation (AF) patients with mitral stenosis or aortic stenosis. The significance of this review was to provide clinicians the latest update of the clinical application of DOACs in managing this specific population.MethodsLiteratures from the PubMed database up to July 2022 were screened for inclusion. Studies on the effect of DOACs in patients suffering from AF with mitral or aortic stenosis were assessed for further selection.ResultsResults from four studies were gathered: the RISE MS trial, the DAVID-MS study, and two observational studies. In the Korean observational study with a 27-month follow-up duration and a sample population consisted of patients with mitral stenosis and AF, the thromboembolic events happened at a rate of 2.22%/ year in the DOAC group and 4.19%/year in the warfarin group (adjusted hazard ratio: 0.28; 95% CI: 0.18–0.45). Intracranial hemorrhage occurred at rates of 0.49% and 0.93% in the DOAC and the warfarin groups, respectively (adjusted hazard ratio: 0.53; 95% CI: 0.22–1.26). In the Danish observational study, which had a sample pool with AF patients with aortic stenosis, reported that the adjusted hazard ratios for thromboembolism and major bleeding were 1.62 (95% CI, 1.08–2.45) and 0.73 (95% CI, 0.59–0.91) for DOACs compared with warfarin during 3 years of follow-up. In the RISE-MS trial involving AF patients with mitral stenosis, there were no differences in ischemic stroke, systemic embolic events, or major bleeding between the rivaroxaban vs. warfarin groups during a 1-year follow-up as well as equal rate of increased thrombogenicity in the left atrial appendage at 6 months. The rate of silent cerebral ischemia at 12 months was higher in the warfarin group (17.6%) than that in the rivaroxaban group (13.3%).ConclusionsCurrent published studies supported DOACs' effectiveness in preventing thromboembolism in patients of AF with mitral or aortic stenosis. Further clinical trials could confirm these findings.

Abstract Purpose To study prognostic values of bladder neck involvement (BNI) and survival outcomes in non‐muscle‐invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC). Method and materials The national Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database (2004–2015) was applied to gain further insight into the prognostic values of BNI and 19,919 patients diagnosed with NMIBC were included in our study. We used the Kaplan–Meier method with the log‐rank test and subgroup analyses to evaluate cancer‐specific survival (CSS) and overall survival (OS). In addition, the multivariable Cox proportional hazard model and propensity score matching (PSM) were utilized. Results In all, 3446 patients with BNI and 16,473 patients with sites except for bladder neck were enrolled in our study. Compared with other sites, a tendency toward a higher proportion of higher grade (p 0.05). In addition, subgroups stratified by tumor size and grade all revealed poor prognosis of BNI in NMIBC patients. Abstract Background Bladder cancer (BLCA) is a common cancer associated with an unfavorable prognosis. Increasing numbers of studies have demonstrated that lipid metabolism affects the progression and treatment of tumors. Therefore, this study aimed to explore the function and prognostic value of lipid metabolism-related genes in patients with bladder cancer. Methods Lipid metabolism-related genes (LRGs) were acquired from the Molecular Signature Database (MSigDB). LRG mRNA expression and patient clinical data were obtained from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) datasets. Cox regression analysis and least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) regression analysis was used to construct a signature for predicting overall survival of patients with BLCA. Kaplan-Meier analysis was performed to assess prognosis. The connectivity Map (CMAP) database was used to identify small molecule drugs for treatment. A nomogram was constructed and assessed by combining the signature and other clinical factors. The CIBERSORT, MCPcounter, QUANTISEQ, XCELL, CIBERSORT-ABS, TIMER and EPIC algorithms were used to analyze the immunological characteristics. Results An 11-LRG signature was successfully constructed and validated to predict the prognosis of BLCA patients. Furthermore, we also found that the 11-gene signature was an independent hazardous factor. Functional analysis suggested that the LRGs were closely related to the PPAR signaling pathway, fatty acid metabolism and AMPK signaling pathway. The prognostic model was closely related to immune cell infiltration. Moreover, the expression of key immune checkpoint genes (PD1, CTLA4, PD-L1, LAG3, and HAVCR2) was higher in patients in the high-risk group than in those in the low-risk group. The prognostic signature based on 11-LRGs exhibited better performance in predicting overall survival than conventional clinical characteristics. Five small molecule drugs could be candidate drug treatments for BLCA patients based on the CMAP dataset. Conclusions In conclusion, the current study identified a reliable signature based on 11-LRGs for predicting the prognosis and response to immunotherapy in patients with BLCA. Five small molecule drugs were identified for the treatments of BLCA patients.

Abstract Background The high incidence and mortality of lung cancer have seriously affected human life and health. Nivolumab is a monoclonal antibody that can inhibit programmed death 1 (PD-1) and Ipilimumab is a monoclonal antibody against CTLA-4(cytotoxic T lymphocyte-associated antigen 4), both of which can prevent the immune escape of tumor cells. Our goal was to synthesize evidence from published randomized controlled trials involving the safety and efficacy of either Nivolumab alone or in combination for the treatment of unresectable lung cancer. Methods We searched the following electronic databases: PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane libraries, and screened the retrieved records for eligibility. We used the Stata16 software for the analyses. The results of the analysis are expressed as hazard ratios (HRs) or risk ratios (RRs) and their corresponding 95% confidence intervals (CI). Results The final analysis included seven trials involving 3817 patients. Among patients with advanced lung cancer, patients using immunotherapy had better overall survival (OS), progression-free survival (PFS), and an objective response rate (ORR) than patients receiving chemotherapy. The HR of Nivolumab monotherapy or combination therapy with OS was compared with that of chemotherapy (HR: 0.73, 95% CI 0.64–0.83; HR: 0.67, 95% CI 0.55–0.81), and the HR of PFS was (HR: 0.81, 95% CI 0.69–0.94; HR: 0.67, 95% CI 0.55–0.82). Conclusions Immunotherapy has been shown to have more clinically meaningful survival benefits for patients with lung cancer, whether monotherapy or combination immunotherapy. CRD42020213440

In this paper, based on the heat transfer characteristics of deep borehole heat exchanger (DBHE), the superposition dimension reduction algorithm was used to solve the heat transfer model of multiple DBHE (MDBHE). Compared with the monitoring field data, the simulation results calculated by using the superposition dimension reduction algorithm are accurate and reliable. Meanwhile, its computation speed is 4 orders of magnitude faster than that of commercial software. This algorithm was also used to simulate the influences of borehole spacing on long-term heating performance of a DBHE composed of four boreholes, and the results were compared with a single-borehole DBHE, which indicate that increasing borehole spacing can effectively reduce the thermal disturbance among boreholes and enhance heat extraction capacity. When the borehole spacing among MDBHE increases to 50–60 m, the differences of inlet fluid temperature, soil temperature and borehole wall temperature between multiple and single DBHE are obviously reduced. Therefore, the superposition dimension reduction algorithm can quickly and efficiently solve the underground heat transfer problem of MDBHE, which can provide a fast calculation method and theoretical basis for engineering design of borehole spacing. It is recommended that borehole spacing to be 50–60 m if ground area is enough.

PurposeTo develop and validate nomograms for pre-treatment prediction of malignant histology (MH) and unfavorable pathology (UP) in patients with endophytic renal tumors (ERTs).MethodsWe retrospectively reviewed the clinical information of 3245 patients with ERTs accepted surgical treatment in our center. Eventually, 333 eligible patients were included and randomly enrolled into training and testing sets in a ratio of 7:3. We performed univariable and multivariable logistic regression analyses to determine the independent risk factors of MH and UP in the training set and developed the pathological diagnostic models of MH and UP. The optimal model was used to construct a nomogram for MH and UP. The area under the receiver operating characteristics (ROC) curves (AUC), calibration curves and decision curve analyses (DCA) were used to evaluate the predictive performance of models.ResultsOverall, 172 patients with MH and 50 patients with UP were enrolled in the training set; and 74 patients with MH and 21 patients with UP were enrolled in the validation set. Sex, neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), R score, N score and R.E.N.A.L. score were the independent predictors of MH; and BMI, NLR, tumor size and R score were the independent predictors of UP. Single-variable and multiple-variable models were constructed based on these independent predictors. Among these predictive models, the malignant histology-risk nomogram consisted of sex, NLR, R score and N score and the unfavorable pathology-risk nomogram consisted of BMI, NLR and R score performed an optimal predictive performance, which reflected in the highest AUC (0.842 and 0.808, respectively), the favorable calibration curves and the best clinical net benefit. In addition, if demographic characteristics and laboratory tests were excluded from the nomograms, only the components of the R.E.N.A.L. Nephrometry Score system were included to predict MH and UP, the AUC decreased to 0.781 and 0.660, respectively (P=0.001 and 0.013, respectively).ConclusionIn our study, the pathological diagnostic models for predicting malignant and aggressive histological features for patients with ERTs showed outstanding predictive performance and convenience. The use of the models can greatly assist urologists in individualizing the management of their patients.
