Abstract

The nonstoichiometry of Li/Cu ionic ratios x and oxygen defect concentrations [delta] in [Li.sub.x][Cu.sub.2][O.sub.2+[delta]] solid solution is studied. The results have shown that Li/Cu and oxygen nonstoichiometry in the crystals are responsible for the varied temperatures of helimagnetic ordering.

Abstract

The deep-level photoluminescence (PL) of coherently strained GaAsN/GaAs quantum-well (QW) structures with various GaAsN thicknesses and N contents is described. The PL spectra have shown prominent emission that has displayed a similarly sized confinement effect as the QW emission, which is attributed to a transition between the QW electron ground state and a deep level.
