We prove that the Leibniz PROP is isomorphic (as $\Bbbk$-linear categories) to the symmetric crossed presimplicial algebra $\Bbbk[(\Delta^+)^{op} \mathbb{S}]$ where $\Delta^+$ is the skeletal category of finite well-ordered sets with surjections, but the distributive law between $(\Delta^+)^{op}$ and the symmetric groups $\mathbb{S} = \bigsqcup_{n\geq 1} S_n$ is not the standard one.

Using coinduction and restriction functors, we show that the category of simplicial $\Bbbk$-vector spaces and the category of $\Bbbk$-representations of a crossed simplicial group are equivalent after inverting homotopy equivalences. We do this by first showing that the homotopical version of the original Dold-Kan equivalence is implemented by an adjoint pair of coinduction and restriction functors after a suitable homotopy localization. Finally, we rewrite our equivalence for crossed simplicial objects as a model categorical equivalence.

The homological information about a filtered simplicial complex over the poset of positive real numbers is often presented by a barcode which depicts the evolution of the associated Betti numbers. However, there is a wonderfully complex combinatorics associated with the homology classes of a filtered complex, and one can do more than just counting them over the index poset. Here, we show that this combinatorial information can be encoded by filtered matroids, or even better, by rooted forests. We also show that these rooted forests can be realized as cobordisms.

In this study, we examine if engineered topological features can distinguish time series sampled from different stochastic processes with different noise characteristics, in both balanced and unbalanced sampling schemes. We compare our classification results against the results of the same classification tasks built on statistical and raw features. Motivated by the fact that the Hopf-cyclic (co)homologies of function algebras over Lie groups and universal enveloping algebras over Lie algebras capture the Lie group and Lie algebra (co)homologies, we hereby upgrade the classical van Est isomorphism to ones between the Hopf-cyclic (co)homologies of quantized algebras of functions and quantized universal enveloping algebras, both in $h$-adic and $q$-deformation frameworks.

We show that every Kac-Moody algebra is birationally equivalent to a smash biproduct of two copies of a Weyl algebra together with a polynomial algebra. In this paper, we develop topological data analysis methods for classification tasks on univariate time series. As an application, we perform binary and ternary classification tasks on two public datasets that consist of physiological signals collected under stress and non-stress conditions. We accomplish our goal by using persistent homology to engineer stable topological features after we use a time delay embedding of the signals and perform a subwindowing instead of using windows of fixed length. The combination of methods we use can be applied to any univariate time series and in this application allows us to reduce noise and use long window sizes without incurring an extra computational cost. We then use machine learning models on the features we algorithmically engineered to obtain higher accuracies with fewer features., Comment: 31 pages, 20 figures

A finite non-increasing sequence of positive integers $d = (d_1\geq \cdots\geq d_n)$ is called a degree sequence if there is a graph $G = (V,E)$ with $V = \{v_1,\ldots,v_n\}$ and $deg(v_i)=d_i$ for $i=1,\ldots,n$. In that case we say that the graph $G$ realizes the degree sequence $d$. We show that the exact number of labeled graphs that realize a fixed degree sequence satisfies a simple recurrence relation. Using this relation, we then obtain a recursive algorithm for the exact count. In this article, we define a new non-archimedean metric structure, called cophenetic metric, on persistent homology classes of all degrees. We then show that zeroth persistent homology together with the cophenetic metric and hierarchical clustering algorithms with a number of different metrics do deliver statistically verifiable commensurate topological information based on experimental results we obtained on different datasets. We also observe that the resulting clusters coming from cophenetic distance do shine in terms of different evaluation measures such as silhouette score and the Rand index. Moreover, since the cophenetic metric is defined for all homology degrees, one can now display the inter-relations of persistent homology classes in all degrees via rooted trees., Comment: 18 pages, 6 figures

We calculate suitably localized Hochschild homologies of various quantum groups and Podle\'s spheres after realizing them as generalized Weyl algebras (GWAs). We use the fact that every GWA is birationally equivalent to a smash product with a 1-torus. We also address and solve the birational equivalence problem and the birational smoothness problem for GWAs.

For every $n\geq 1$, we calculate the Hochschild homology of the quantum monoids $M_q(n)$, and the quantum groups $GL_q(n)$ and $SL_q(n)$ with coefficients in a 1-dimensional module coming from a modular pair in involution., Comment: 16 pages, 3 figures

We develop a new spectral sequence in order to calculate Hochschild homology of smash biproducts (also called twisted tensor products) of unital associative algebras $A\# B$ provided one of $A$ or $B$ has Hochschild dimension less than 2. We use this spectral sequence to calculate Hochschild homology of quantum tori, multiparametric quantum affine spaces, quantum complete intersections, quantum Weyl algebras, deformed completed Weyl algebras, and finally the algebra $M_q(2)$ of quantum $2\times 2$-matrices.

We show that faithfully flat smooth extensions are reduced flat, and therefore, fit into the Jacobi-Zariski exact sequence in Hochschild homology and cyclic (co)homology even when the algebras are noncommutative or infinite dimensional. We observe that such extensions correspond to \'etale maps of affine schemes, and we propose a definition for generic noncommutative fibrations using distributive laws and homological properties of the induction and restriction functors. Then we show that Galois fibrations do produce the right exact sequence in homology. We then demonstrate the versatility of our model on a geometro-combinatorial example. For a connected unramified covering of a connected graph $G'\to G$, we construct a smooth Galois fibration $\mathcal{A}_{G}\subseteq\mathcal{A}_{G'}$ and calculate the homology of the corresponding local coefficient system., Comment: 15 pages, 1 figure

We show that the (even and odd) index cocycles for theta-summable Fredholm modules are in the image of the Connes-Moscovici characteristic map. To show this, we first define a new range of asymptotic cohomologies, and then we extend the Connes-Moscovici characteristic map to our setting. The ordinary periodic cyclic cohomology and the entire cyclic cohomology appear as two instances of this setup. We then construct an asymptotic characteristic class, defined independently from the underlying Fredholm module. Paired with the $K$-theory, the image of this class under the characteristic map yields a non-zero scalar multiple of the index in the even case, and the spectral flow in the odd case.

We compute the Hochschild cohomology of the reduced incidence algebras such as the algebra of formal power series, the algebra of exponential power series, the algebra of Eulerian power series, and the algebra of formal Dirichlet series. We achieve the result by carrying out the computation on the coalgebra ${\rm Cotor}$-groups of their pre-dual coalgebras. Using the same coalgebraic machinery, we further identify the Hochschild cohomology groups of an incidence algebra associated to a quiver with the ${\rm Ext}$-groups of the incidence algebra associated to a suspension of the quiver.

In this paper we calculate both the periodic and non-periodic Hopf-cyclic cohomology of Drinfeld-Jimbo quantum enveloping algebra $U_q(\mathfrak{g})$ for an arbitrary semi-simple Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ with coefficients in a modular pair in involution. We show that its Hochschild cohomology is concentrated in a single degree determined by the rank of the Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$.

We prove a version of Bass' finitistic dimension conjecture for path algebras over arbitrary directed graphs. It is known that the path algebra of a finite directed graph is hereditary, hence it has finite finitistic dimension, when the graph is acyclic. The case for arbitrary directed graphs is still open. We use flat dimension instead of projective dimension (hence the designation "weak") and show that the weak finitistic dimension of an arbitrary path algebra is finite., Comment: This paper has been withdrawn by the authors. In this article we obtain lower and upper bounds for global dimensions of a class of artinian algebras in terms of global dimensions of a finite subset of their artinian subalgebras. Finding these bounds for the global dimension of an artinian algebra $A$ is realized via an explicit algorithm we develop. This algorithm is based on a directed graph (not the Auslander-Reiten quiver) we construct, and it allows us to decide whether an artinian algebra has finite global dimension in good number of cases.

We prove that for an inclusion of unital associative but not necessarily commutative algebras $B\subseteq A$ we have long exact sequences in Hochschild homology and cyclic (co)homology akin to the Jacobi-Zariski sequence in Andr\'e-Quillen homology, provided that the quotient $B$-bimodule $A/B$ is flat. From N-tensor powers of the Toeplitz algebra, we construct a multipullback C*-algebra that is a noncommutative deformation of the complex projective space CP(N). Using Birkhoff's Representation Theorem, we prove that the lattice of kernels of the canonical projections on components of the multipullback C*-algebra is free. This shows that our deformation preserves the freeness of the lattice of subsets generated by the affine covering of the complex projective space., Comment: 16 pages

We show that a projective space P^\infty(Z/2) endowed with the Alexandrov topology is a classifying space for finite closed coverings of compact quantum spaces in the sense that any such a covering is functorially equivalent to a sheaf over this projective space. In technical terms, we prove that the category of finitely supported flabby sheaves of algebras is equivalent to the category of algebras with a finite set of ideals that intersect to zero and generate a distributive lattice. We construct several pairings in Hopf-cyclic cohomology of (co)module (co)algebras with arbitrary coefficients. The key ideas instrumental in constructing these pairings are the derived functor interpretation of Hopf-cyclic and equivariant cyclic (co)homology, and the Yoneda interpretation of Ext-groups. As a special case of one of these pairings, we recover the Connes-Moscovici characteristic map in Hopf-cyclic cohomology. We also prove that this particular pairing, along with few others, would stay the same if we replace the derived category of (co)cyclic modules with the homotopy category of (special) towers of $X$-complexes, or the derived category of mixed complexes., Comment: 15 pages

We define a Hopf cyclic (co)homology theory in an arbitrary symmetric strict monoidal category. Thus we unify all different types of Hopf cyclic (co)homologies under one single universal theory. We recover Hopf cyclic (co)homology of module algebras, comodule algebras and module coalgebras along with Hopf-Hochschild (co)homology of module algebras. This universal theory also allows us to define the missing Hopf cyclic theory for comodule coalgebras.

For module algebras and module coalgebras over an arbitrary bialgebra, we define two types of bivariant cyclic cohomology groups called bivariant Hopf cyclic cohomology and bivariant equivariant cyclic cohomology. These groups are defined through an extension of Connes' cyclic category $\Lambda$. We show that, in the case of module coalgebras, bivariant Hopf cyclic cohomology specializes to Hopf cyclic cohomology of Connes and Moscovici and its dual version by fixing either one of the variables as the ground field. We define a new algebra of noncommutative differential forms for any Hopf algebra with an invertible antipode. We prove that there is a one to one correspondence between anti-Yetter-Drinfeld modules, which serve as coefficients for the Hopf cyclic (co)homology, and modules which admit a flat connection with respect to our differential calculus. This is the second part of the article [math.KT/0408094]. In the first paper, we used the underlying coalgebra structure to develop a cyclic theory. In this paper we define a dual theory by using the algebra structure. We define a cyclic homology theory for triples $(X,B,Y)$ where $B$ is a bialgebra, $X$ is a $B$--comodule algebra and $Y$ is just a stable $B$--module/comodule. We recover the main result of [math.KT/0310088] that these homology theories are dual to each other in the appropriate sense when the bialgebra is a Hopf algebra and the stable coefficient module satisfies anti-Yetter-Drinfeld condition.
