The superconducting diode effect (SDE), where zero-resistance states appear nonreciprocally during current injection, is receiving tremendous interest in both fundamental and applied physics because the SDE is a novel manifestation of symmetry breaking and enables the creation of a novel diode without energy loss. In particular, magnetic-field-free SDEs have been extensively investigated because of their potential to serve as building blocks for superconducting circuit technology. In this letter, we report the field-free SDE in a layered superconductor, FeSe. Its underlying physics is clarified by systematic controlled experiments to be an interplay of a large thermoelectric response and geometrical asymmetry in FeSe. The layered honeycomb magnet $\alpha$-RuCl$_3$ has emerged as a promising candidate for realizing a Kitaev quantum spin liquid. Previous studies have reported oscillation-like anomalies in the longitudinal thermal conductivity and half-integer quantized thermal Hall conductivity above the antiferromagnetic critical field $H_c$, generating significant interest. However, the origins of these phenomena remain contentious due to strong sample dependence. Here we re-examine the magnetothermal transport properties using recently available ultra-pure $\alpha$-RuCl$_3$ single crystals to further elucidate potential signatures of the spin liquid state. Our findings reveal that while anomalies in thermal conductivity above $H_c$ persist even in ultraclean crystals, their magnitude is significantly attenuated, contrary to the quantum oscillations hypothesis. This suggests that the anomalies are likely attributable to localized stacking faults inadvertently introduced during magnetothermal transport measurements. The thermal Hall conductivity exhibits a half-quantized plateau, albeit with a narrower width than previously reported. This observation aligns with theoretical predictions emphasizing the importance of interactions between chiral edge currents and phonons. These results indicate that structural imperfections exert a substantial influence on both the oscillation-like anomalies and quantization effects observed in magnetothermal transport measurements of $\alpha$-RuCl$_3$., Comment: 6 pages, 4 figures

It is widely accepted that the surface potential of the lunar dayside is "on average" several to 10 V positive due to photoelectron emission in addition to the solar wind plasma precipitation. Recent studies, however, have shown that an insulating and rough regolith layer tends to make positive and negative charges separated and irregularly distributed on sub-Debye-length scales. The local charge separation then gives rise to an intense and structured electrostatic field. Such micro-scale electrostatic structures lie in the innermost part of the photoelectron sheath and may contribute to the mobilization of the charged dust particles. Since the electrostatic structures can take different states depending on the topography of the lunar surface, it is necessary to update the research approach. We have launched a research group to develop an integrated assessment framework that includes theoretical and numerical modeling, on-orbit observations, ground-based testing, and the development of charging measurement instruments, with the ultimate goal of comprehensively understanding the surface charging processes on the Moon.

Host-guest binding plays a crucial role in the functionality of various systems, and its efficiency is often quantified using the binding free energy, which represents the free-energy difference between the bound and dissociated states. Here, we propose a methodology to compute the binding free energy based on the energy representation (ER) theory of solution that enables us to evaluate the free-energy difference between the systems of interest with the molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. Unlike the other free-energy methods, such as the Bennett acceptance ratio (BAR), the ER theory does not require the MD simulations for hypothetical intermediate states connecting the systems of interest, leading to reduced computational costs. By constructing the thermodynamic cycle of the binding process that is suitable for the ER theory, a robust calculation of the binding free energy is realized. We apply the present method to the self-association of \textit{N}-methylacetamide (NMA) in different solvents and the binding of aspirin to $\beta$-cyclodextrin (CD) in water. In the former case, the present method estimates that the binding free energy decreases as the solvent polarity decreases. This trend is consistent with the experimental finding. For the latter system, the binding free energies for the two representative CD-aspirin bound complexes, primary (P) and secondary (S) complexes, are estimated to be $-5.12\pm 0.09$ and $-4.97\pm 0.06~\mathrm{kcalmol^{-1}}$, respectively. These values are satisfactorily close to those from the BAR method [$-4.6\pm 0.2$ and $-4.4\pm 0.2\mathrm{kcal~mol^{-1}}$ for P and S, respectively]. Furthermore, the interaction-energy component analysis reveals that the van der Waals interaction between aspirin and CD dominantly contributes to the stabilization of the bound complexes, that is in harmony with the well-known binding mechanism in the CD systems., Comment: 13 pages, 6 figures

The latitudinal distribution of whistler-mode wave intensity plays a crucial role in determining the efficiency and energy of electrons scattered by these waves in the outer radiation belt. Traditionally, this wave property has mostly been derived from statistical measurements of off-equatorial spacecraft, which collect intensity data at various latitudes under different geomagnetic conditions and at different times. In this study we examine a set of events captured by both the near-equatorial THEMIS spacecraft and the off-equatorial ERG spacecraft. Specifically, we compare the whistler-mode wave intensity from THEMIS and ERG measurements at the same MLT and time sectors. Similar wave spectrum characteristics confirm that THEMIS and ERG indeed observed the same wave activity. However, upon closer examination of the wave intensity variations, we identify two distinct categories of events: those that follow the statistically predicted variations in wave intensity along magnetic latitudes, and those that exhibit rapid wave intensity decay away from the equatorial plane. We analyze main characteristics of events from both categories and discuss possible implications of our analysis for radiation belt models.

Quantum spin liquids (QSLs) represent an exotic quantum many-body state characterized by the suppression of long-range magnetic order due to strong quantum fluctuations. The kagome spin-1/2 antiferromagnet (AFM) is a prime candidate for realizing QSLs, but its ground state remains an unresolved conundrum. Here we investigate the recently discovered perfect kagome AFM YCu$_3$(OH)$_{6.5}$Br$_{2.5}$ to elucidate two central enigmas surrounding the kagome AFM. Ultra-sensitive torque magnetometry experiments reveal that the intrinsic magnetic susceptibility arising from the kagome layer remains nearly temperature-independent down to exceedingly low temperatures. This observation seemingly implies the emergence of gapless fermionic spin excitations akin to Pauli paramagnetism in metals. However, most strikingly, these results stand in stark contrast to the conspicuous absence of a temperature-linear contribution to the specific heat. These findings appear irreconcilable with the widely-discussed theoretical frameworks assuming fermionic quasiparticles (QPs), instead suggesting a transition of bosonic QPs into a superfluid state with a gapless Goldstone mode. Furthermore, magnetocaloric measurements evince an entropy anomaly, constituting thermodynamic evidence that magnetic fields instigate the opening of a spin gap, driving a quantum phase transition into a 1/9 magnetization plateau state. These results shed light on the nature of the low-energy excitations in zero and strong magnetic fields, providing crucial insights into the long-standing unresolved issues of the ground state of the kagome AFM., Comment: 23 pages, 9 figures

We report an estimation of the injected mass composition of ultra-high energy cosmic rays (UHECRs) at energies higher than 10 EeV. The composition is inferred from an energy-dependent sky distribution of UHECR events observed by the Telescope Array surface detector by comparing it to the Large Scale Structure of the local Universe. In the case of negligible extra-galactic magnetic fields the results are consistent with a relatively heavy injected composition at E ~ 10 EeV that becomes lighter up to E ~ 100 EeV, while the composition at E > 100 EeV is very heavy. The latter is true even in the presence of highest experimentally allowed extra-galactic magnetic fields, while the composition at lower energies can be light if a strong EGMF is present. We use a new method to estimate the injected mass composition of ultrahigh cosmic rays (UHECRs) at energies higher than 10 EeV. The method is based on comparison of the energy-dependent distribution of cosmic ray arrival directions as measured by the Telescope Array experiment (TA) with that calculated in a given putative model of UHECR under the assumption that sources trace the large-scale structure (LSS) of the Universe. As we report in the companion letter, the TA data show large deflections with respect to the LSS which can be explained, assuming small extra-galactic magnetic fields (EGMF), by an intermediate composition changing to a heavy one (iron) in the highest energy bin. Here we show that these results are robust to uncertainties in UHECR injection spectra, the energy scale of the experiment and galactic magnetic fields (GMF). The assumption of weak EGMF, however, strongly affects this interpretation at all but the highest energies E > 100 EeV, where the remarkable isotropy of the data implies a heavy injected composition even in the case of strong EGMF. This result also holds if UHECR sources are as rare as $2 \times 10^{-5}$ Mpc$^{-3}$, that is the conservative lower limit for the source number density., Comment: 18 pages, 11 figures, accepted for publication in PRD

We report on an observation of the difference between northern and southern skies of the ultrahigh energy cosmic ray energy spectrum with a significance of ${\sim}8\sigma$. We use measurements from the two largest experiments$\unicode{x2014}$the Telescope Array observing the northern hemisphere and the Pierre Auger Observatory viewing the southern hemisphere. Since the comparison of two measurements from different observatories introduces the issue of possible systematic differences between detectors and analyses, we validate the methodology of the comparison by examining the region of the sky where the apertures of the two observatories overlap. Although the spectra differ in this region, we find that there is only a $1.8\sigma$ difference between the spectrum measurements when anisotropic regions are removed and a fiducial cut in the aperture is applied., Comment: 8 pages, 6 figures

This paper extends the work of Arcidiacono and Miller (2011, 2019) by introducing a novel characterization of finite dependence within dynamic discrete choice models, demonstrating that numerous models display 2-period finite dependence. We recast finite dependence as a problem of sequentially searching for weights and introduce a computationally efficient method for determining these weights by utilizing the Kronecker product structure embedded in state transitions. With the estimated weights, we develop a computationally attractive Conditional Choice Probability estimator with 2-period finite dependence. The computational efficacy of our proposed estimator is demonstrated through Monte Carlo simulations.

We propose a theoretical approach to estimate the permeability coefficient of substrates (permeants) for crossing membranes from donor (D) phase to acceptor (A) phase by means of molecular dynamics (MD) simulation. A fundamental aspect of our approach involves reformulating the returning probability (RP) theory, a rigorous bimolecular reaction theory, to describe permeation phenomena. This reformulation relies on the parallelism between permeation and bimolecular reaction processes. In the present method, the permeability coefficient is represented in terms of the thermodynamic and kinetic quantities for the reactive (R) phase that exists within the inner region of membranes. One can evaluate these quantities using multiple MD trajectories starting from phase R. We apply the RP theory to the permeation of ethanol and methylamine at different concentrations (infinitely dilute and 1 mol% conditions of permeants). Under the 1 mol% condition, the present method yields a larger permeability coefficient for ethanol ($0.12 \pm 0.01 ~\mathrm{cm~s^{-1}}$) than for methylamine ($0.069\pm 0.006~\mathrm{cm~s^{-1}}$), while the values of the permeability coefficient are satisfactorily close to those obtained from the brute-force MD simulations [$0.18\pm 0.03 ~\mathrm{cm~s^{-1}}$ and $0.052 \pm 0.005 ~\mathrm{cm~s^{-1}}$ for ethanol and methylamine, respectively]. Moreover, upon analyzing the thermodynamic and kinetic contributions to the permeability, we clarify that a higher concentration dependency of permeability for ethanol, as compared to methylamine, arises from the sensitive nature of ethanol's free-energy barrier within the inner region of the membrane against ethanol concentration., Comment: 17 pages, 6 figures for maintext

With the rapidly spreading usage of Internet of Things (IoT) devices, a network intrusion detection system (NIDS) plays an important role in detecting and protecting various types of attacks in the IoT network. To evaluate the robustness of the NIDS in the IoT network, the existing work proposed a realistic botnet dataset in the IoT network (Bot-IoT dataset) and applied it to machine learning-based anomaly detection. This dataset contains imbalanced normal and attack packets because the number of normal packets is much smaller than that of attack ones. The nature of imbalanced data may make it difficult to identify the minority class correctly. In this thesis, to address the class imbalance problem in the Bot-IoT dataset, we propose a binary classification method with synthetic minority over-sampling techniques (SMOTE). The proposed classifier aims to detect attack packets and overcome the class imbalance problem using the SMOTE algorithm. Through numerical results, we demonstrate the proposed classifier's fundamental characteristics and the impact of imbalanced data on its performance.

Single atomic defects are prominent windows to look into host quantum states because collective responses from the host states emerge as localized states around the defects. Friedel oscillations and Kondo clouds in Fermi liquids are quintessential examples. However, the situation is quite different for quantum spin liquid (QSL), an exotic state of matter with fractionalized quasiparticles and topological order arising from a profound impact of quantum entanglement. Elucidating the underlying local electronic property has been challenging due to the charge neutrality of fractionalized quasiparticles and the insulating nature of QSLs. Here, using spectroscopic-imaging scanning tunneling microscopy, we report atomically resolved images of monolayer $\alpha-RuCl_3$, the most promising Kitaev QSL candidate, on metallic substrates. We find quantum interference in the insulator manifesting as incommensurate and decaying spatial oscillations of the local density of states around defects with a characteristic bias dependence. The oscillation differs from any known spatial structures in its nature and does not exist in other Mott insulators, implying it is an exotic oscillation involved with excitations unique to $\alpha-RuCl_3$. Numerical simulations suggest that the observed oscillation can be reproduced by assuming that itinerant Majorana fermions of Kitaev QSL are scattered across the Majorana Fermi surface. Fermionic superfluidity with a nontrivial Cooper-pairing, beyond the conventional Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer state, is a captivating field of study in quantum many-body systems. In particular, the search for superconducting states with finite-momentum pairs has long been a challenge, but establishing its existence has long suffered from the lack of an appropriate probe to reveal its momentum. Recently, it has been proposed that the nonreciprocal {\cred electron} transport is the most {\cred powerful} probe for the finite-momentum pairs, {\cred because it directly couples} to the supercurrents. Here we reveal such a pairing state by the non-reciprocal transport on tricolor superlattices with strong spin-orbit coupling combined with broken inversion-symmetry consisting of atomically thin $d$-wave superconductor CeCoIn$_5$. We find that while the second-harmonic resistance exhibits a distinct dip anomaly at the low-temperature ($T$)/high-magnetic field ($H$) corner in the $HT$-plane for ${\bm H}$ applied to the antinodal direction of the $d$-wave gap, such an anomaly is absent for ${\bm H}$ along the nodal direction. By meticulously isolating extrinsic effects due to vortex dynamics, we reveal the presence of a non-reciprocal response originating from intrinsic superconducting properties characterized by finite-momentum pairs. We attribute the high-field state to the helical superconducting state, wherein the phase of the order parameter is spontaneously spatially modulated.

Cholesterol (Chol) plays a crucial role in shaping the intricate physicochemical attributes of biomembranes, exerting considerable influence on water molecules proximal to the membrane interface. In this study, we conducted molecular dynamics simulations on the bilayers of two lipid species, dipalmitoyl phosphatidylcholine (DPPC) and palmitoyl sphingomyelin (PSM); they are distinct with respect to the structures of the hydrogen-bond (H-bond) acceptors. Our investigation focuses on the dynamic properties and H-bonds of water molecules in the lipid-membrane systems, with particular emphasis on the influence of Chol at varying temperatures. Notably, in the gel phase at 303 K, the presence of Chol extends the lifetimes of H-bonds of the oxygen atoms acting as H-bond acceptors within DPPC with water molecules by a factor of 1.5 to 2.5. In the liquid-crystalline phase at 323 K, on the other hand, H-bonding dynamics with lipid membranes remain largely unaffected by Chol. The layered honeycomb magnet $\alpha$-RuCl$_3$ is the most promising candidate for a Kitaev quantum spin liquid (KQSL) that can host charge-neutral Majorana fermions. Recent studies have shown significant sample dependence of thermal transport properties, which are a key probe of Majorana quasiparticles in the KQSL state, highlighting the importance of preparing high-quality single crystals of $\alpha$-RuCl$_3$. Here, we present a relatively simple and reliable method to grow high-quality single crystals of $\alpha$-RuCl$_3$. We use a two-step crystal growth method consisting of a purification process by chemical vapor transport (CVT) and a main crystal growth process by sublimation. The obtained crystals exhibit a distinct first-order structural phase transition from the monoclinic ($C2/m$) to the rhombohedral ($R\bar{3}$) structure at $\sim150$ K, which is confirmed by the nuclear quadrupole resonance spectra with much sharper widths than previously reported. The Raman spectra show the absence of defect-induced modes, supporting the good crystallinity of our samples. The jumps in the thermal expansion coefficient and specific heat at the antiferromagnetic (AFM) transition at 7.6-7.7 K are larger and sharper than those of previous samples grown by the CVT and Bridgman methods and do not show any additional AFM transitions at 10-14 K due to stacking faults. The longitudinal thermal conductivity in the AFM phase is significantly larger than previously reported, indicating a very long mean free path of heat carriers. All the results indicate that our single crystals are of superior quality with good crystallinity and few stacking faults, which provides a suitable platform for studying the Kitaev physics., Comment: 9 pages, 7 figures

While generative AI is now widespread and useful in society, there are potential risks of misuse, e.g., unconsciously influencing cognitive processes or decision-making. Although this causes a security problem in the cognitive domain, there has been no research about neural and computational mechanisms counteracting the impact of malicious generative AI in humans. We propose DecNefGAN, a novel framework that combines a generative adversarial system and a neural reinforcement model. More specifically, DecNefGAN bridges human and generative AI in a closed-loop system, with the AI creating stimuli that induce specific mental states, thus exerting external control over neural activity. The objective of the human is the opposite, to compete and reach an orthogonal mental state. This framework can contribute to elucidating how the human brain responds to and counteracts the potential influence of generative AI.

Recently introduced ControlNet has the ability to steer the text-driven image generation process with geometric input such as human 2D pose, or edge features. While ControlNet provides control over the geometric form of the instances in the generated image, it lacks the capability to dictate the visual appearance of each instance. We present FineControlNet to provide fine control over each instance's appearance while maintaining the precise pose control capability. Specifically, we develop and demonstrate FineControlNet with geometric control via human pose images and appearance control via instance-level text prompts. The spatial alignment of instance-specific text prompts and 2D poses in latent space enables the fine control capabilities of FineControlNet. We evaluate the performance of FineControlNet with rigorous comparison against state-of-the-art pose-conditioned text-to-image diffusion models. FineControlNet achieves superior performance in generating images that follow the user-provided instance-specific text prompts and poses compared with existing methods. Detailed measurements of the spectral structure of cosmic-ray electrons and positrons from 10.6 GeV to 7.5 TeV are presented from over 7 years of observations with the CALorimetric Electron Telescope (CALET) on the International Space Station. Because of the excellent energy resolution (a few percent above 10 GeV) and the outstanding e/p separation (10$^5$), CALET provides optimal performance for a detailed search of structures in the energy spectrum. The analysis uses data up to the end of 2022, and the statistics of observed electron candidates has increased more than 3 times since the last publication in 2018. By adopting an updated boosted decision tree analysis, a sufficient proton rejection power up to 7.5 TeV is achieved, with a residual proton contamination less than 10%. The observed energy spectrum becomes gradually harder in the lower energy region from around 30 GeV, consistently with AMS-02, but from 300 to 600 GeV it is considerably softer than the spectra measured by DAMPE and Fermi-LAT. At high energies, the spectrum presents a sharp break around 1 TeV, with a spectral index change from -3.15 to -3.91, and a broken power law fitting the data in the energy range from 30 GeV to 4.8 TeV better than a single power law with 6.9 sigma significance, which is compatible with the DAMPE results. The break is consistent with the expected effects of radiation loss during the propagation from distant sources (except the highest energy bin). We have fitted the spectrum with a model consistent with the positron flux measured by AMS-02 below 1 TeV and interpreted the electron + positron spectrum with possible contributions from pulsars and nearby sources. We provide bulk transport evidence for twin-boundary pinning of vortices in FeSe. We measure interlayer resistance in FeSe in magnetic fields and find that, as the field is rotated in the $ab$ plane, the flux-flow resistivity is suppressed when the field direction is parallel to twinning planes. The width of the associated dip in the resistance vs in-plane field direction curve varies as $T^{1/2}B^{-3/4}$, consistent with the creation of kinked vortices near the parallel field geometry., Comment: 5 pages, 6 figures

Automatic evaluation of text generation is essential for improving the accuracy of generation tasks. In light of the current trend towards increasingly larger decoder-based language models, we investigate automatic evaluation methods based on such models for text generation. This paper compares various methods, including tuning with encoder-based models and large language models under equal conditions, on two different tasks, machine translation evaluation and semantic textual similarity, in two languages, Japanese and English. Experimental results show that compared to the tuned encoder-based models, the tuned decoder-based models perform poorly. The analysis of the causes for this suggests that the decoder-based models focus on surface word sequences and do not capture meaning. The two-dimensional (2D) spin-1/2 kagome Heisenberg antiferromagnet is believed to host quantum spin liquid (QSL) states with no magnetic order, but its ground state remains largely elusive. An important outstanding question concerns the presence or absence of the 1/9 magnetization plateau, where exotic quantum states, including topological ones, are expected to emerge. Here we report the magnetization of a recently discovered kagome QSL candidate YCu$_3$(OH)$_{6.5}$Br$_{2.5}$ up to 57 T. Above 50 T, a clear magnetization plateau at 1/3 of the saturation moment of Cu$^{2+}$ ions is observed, supporting that this material provides an ideal platform for the kagome Heisenberg antiferromagnet. Remarkably, we found another magnetization plateau around 20 T, which is attributed to the 1/9 plateau. The temperature dependence of this plateau reveals the distinct spin gap, whose magnitude estimated by the plateau width is approximately 10% of the exchange interaction. Transverse single-spin asymmetries $A_{\textrm{N}}$ of forward neutrons at pseudorapidities larger than 6 had only been studied in the transverse momentum range of $p_{\textrm{T}} < 0.4$ GeV/$c$. The RHICf Collaboration has extended the previous measurements up to 1.0 GeV/$c$ in polarized $p+p$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}~=~510$GeV, using an electromagnetic calorimeter installed in the zero-degree area of the STAR detector at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. The resulting $A_{\textrm{N}}$s increase in magnitude with $p_{\textrm{T}}$ in the high longitudinal momentum fraction $x_{\textrm{F}}$ range, but reach a plateau at lower $p_{\textrm{T}}$ for lower $x_{\textrm{F}}$. For low transverse momenta the $A_{\textrm{N}}$s show little $x_{\textrm{F}}$ dependence and level off from intermediate values. For higher transverse momenta the $A_{\textrm{N}}$s show also an indication to reach a plateau at increased magnitudes. The results are consistent with previous measurements at lower collision energies, suggesting no $\sqrt{s}$ dependence of the neutron asymmetries. A theoretical model based on the interference of $\pi$ and $a_1$ exchange between two protons could partially reproduce the current results, however an additional mechanism is necessary to describe the neutron $A_{\textrm{N}}$s over the whole kinematic region measured., Comment: Submitted to PRD

The quest for fascinating quantum states arising from the interplay between correlation, frustration, and topology is at the forefront of condensed-matter physics. Recently discovered nonmagnetic kagome metals $A$V${_3}$Sb${_5}$ ($A=$ K, Cs, Rb) with charge density wave (CDW) and superconducting instabilities may host such exotic states. Here we report that an odd electronic nematic state emerges above the CDW transition temperature ($T_{\rm CDW}=94$ K) in CsV${_3}$Sb${_5}$. High-resolution torque measurements reveal a distinct twofold in-plane magnetic anisotropy that breaks the crystal rotational symmetry below $T^*\approx130$ K. However, no relevant anomalies are detected in the elastoresistance data near $T^*$, which excludes the even-parity ferro-orbital nematicity often found in other superconductors. Moreover, in the temperature range between $T_{\rm CDW}$ and $T^*$, conical rotations of magnetic field yield a distinct first-order phase transition, indicative of time-reversal symmetry breaking. Gamma rays from HESS J1849$-$000, a middle-aged TeV pulsar wind nebula (PWN), are observed by the Tibet air shower array and the muon detector array. The detection significance of gamma rays reaches $4.0\, \sigma$ and $4.4\, \sigma$ levels above 25 TeV and 100 TeV, respectively, in units of Gaussian standard deviation $\sigma$. The energy spectrum measured between $40\, {\rm TeV} < E < 320\, {\rm TeV}$ for the first time is described with a simple power-law function of ${\rm d}N/{\rm d}E = (2.86 \pm 1.44) \times 10^{-16}(E/40\, {\rm TeV})^{-2.24 \pm 0.41}\, {\rm TeV}^{-1}\, {\rm cm}^{-2}\, {\rm s}^{-1}$. The gamma-ray energy spectrum from the sub-TeV ($E < 1\, {\rm TeV}$) to sub-PeV ($100\, {\rm TeV} < E < 1\, {\rm PeV}$) ranges including the results of previous studies can be modeled with the leptonic scenario, inverse Compton scattering by high-energy electrons accelerated by the PWN of PSR J1849$-$0001. On the other hand, the gamma-ray energy spectrum can also be modeled with the hadronic scenario in which gamma rays are generated from the decay of neutral pions produced by collisions between accelerated cosmic-ray protons and the ambient molecular cloud found in the gamma-ray emitting region. The cutoff energy of cosmic-ray protons $E_{\rm p\, cut}$, cut is estimated at ${\rm log}_{10}(E_{\rm p,\, cut}/{\rm TeV}) = 3.73^{+2.98}_{-0.66}$, suggesting that protons are accelerated up to the PeV energy range. HESS J1843$-$033 is a very-high-energy gamma-ray source whose origin remains unidentified. This work presents, for the first time, the energy spectrum of gamma rays beyond $100\, {\rm TeV}$ from the HESS J1843$-$033 region using the data recorded by the Tibet air shower array and its underground muon detector array. A gamma-ray source with an extension of $0.34^{\circ} \pm 0.12^{\circ}$ is successfully detected above $25\, {\rm TeV}$ at $(\alpha,\, \delta) = (281.09^{\circ}\pm 0.10^{\circ},\, -3.76^{\circ}\pm 0.09^{\circ})$ near HESS J1843$-$033 with a statistical significance of $6.2\, \sigma$, and the source is named TASG J1844$-$038. The position of TASG J1844$-$038 is consistent with those of HESS J1843$-$033, eHWC J1842$-$035, and LHAASO J1843$-$0338. The measured gamma-ray energy spectrum in $25\, {\rm TeV} < E < 130\, {\rm TeV}$ is described with ${\rm d}N/{\rm d}E = (9.70\pm 1.89)\times 10^{-16} (E/40\, {\rm TeV})^{-3.26\pm 0.30}\, {\rm TeV}^{-1} {\rm cm}^{-2} {\rm s}^{-1}$, and the spectral fit to the combined spectra of HESS J1843$-$033, LHAASO J1843$-$0338, and TASG J1844$-$038 implies the existence of a cutoff at $49.5\pm 9.0\, {\rm TeV}$.
