Caffeine abuse can impede the progress of rehabilitation. Taking caffeine simultaneously with certain oral medication can further complicate an already severe mental condition. A rehabilitation counselor may find it hard to identify the factor that alters a client's mental capacity, moreso when the disabled person's caffeine consumption is high. As such, caffeine use as a conventional means of relief or alleviating stress ought to be discouraged. Adequate knowledge on the caffeine habit can provide counselors with a logical explanation when discrepancies emerge in the course of rehabilitation., Caffeine abuse is so common in our society that its effects are often not addressed as clinical issues. This article seeks to explain the psychological and physiological impact caffeine abuse can have on a rehabilitation client by examining recent research findings applicable to specific disability populations and to consumers of general rehabilitation services. in addition, these findings are examined as they pertain to day-to-day social and vocational life.
