We present a study connecting the physical properties of protostellar envelopes to the morphology of the envelope-scale magnetic field. We use the ALMA polarization observations of 55 young prtostars at 0.87 mm on $\sim400-3000$ au scales from the {\em B}-field Orion Protostellar Survey (BOPS) to infer the envelope-scale magnetic field and both dust and gas emission on comparable scales to measure the envelope properties. We find that the protostellar envelopes with compact polarized dust emission tend to have lower envelope masses, than the sources with more extended envelopes. We also find that protostars showing hourglass-field morphologies tend to have lower velocity dispersions in their envelopes, whereas systems with spiral-field morphologies have higher velocity dispersion. Combining with the disk properties taken from the Orion VLA/ALMA Nascent Disk and Multiplicity (VANDAM) survey, we connect envelope properties to fragmentation. Our results suggest that envelope mass may not correlate with fragmentation, whereas turbulence appears to promote fragmentation. On the other hand, we find that fragmentation is suppressed in systems with pinched magnetic fields, suggesting that the magnetic field play a role on providing additional support against gravitational collapse, and the formation of an hourglass-like field may coincide with enhanced magnetic braking that removes angular momentum and hinders the formation of embedded disks. The X-ray binary 4U 1954+31 has been classified as a Low Mass X-ray Binary (LMXB) containing a M giant and a neutron star (NS). It has also been included in the rare class of X-ray symbiotic binaries (SyXB). The Gaia parallax, infrared colors, spectral type, abundances, and orbital properties of the M star demonstrate that the cool star in this system is not a low mass giant but a high mass M supergiant. Thus, 4U 1954+31 is a High Mass X-ray Binary (HMXB) containing a late-type supergiant. It is the only known binary system of this type. The mass of the M I is 9$^{+6}_{-2}$ M$_\odot$ giving an age of this system in the range 12 - 50 Myr with the NS no more than 43 Myr old. The spin period of the NS is one of the longest known, 5 hours. The existence of M I plus NS binary systems is in accord with stellar evolution theory, with this system a more evolved member of the HMXB population., Comment: Accepted for publication in ApJ

We present a study of the kinematics and structure of the Cep OB3b cluster based on new spectra obtained with the Hectoschelle spectrograph on the MMT and data from Spitzer, Chandr}, and Gaia. At a distance of 819+/-16 pc, Cep OB3b is one of the closest examples of a young (~3 - 5 Myr), large (~3000 total members) cluster at the late stages of gas dispersal. The cluster is broken into two sub-clusters surrounded by a lower density halo. We fit the empirical density law of King (1962) to each sub-cluster to constrain their sizes and structure. The richer eastern sub-cluster has circular symmetry, a modest central density, and lacks molecular gas toward its core suggesting it has undergone expansion due to gas dispersal. In contrast, the western sub-cluster deviates from circular symmetry, has a smaller core size, and contains significant molecular gas near its core, suggesting that it is in an earlier phase of gas dispersal. We present posterior probability distributions for the velocity dispersions from the Hectoschelle spectra. The east will continue to expand and likely form a bound cluster with ~35% of stars remaining. The west is undergoing slower gas dispersal and will potentially form a bound cluster with ~75% of stars remaining. If the halo dissipates, this will leave two independent clusters with ~300 members; proper motions suggest that the two sub-clusters are not bound to each other., Comment: 44 pages, 15 figures, 9 tables, accepted in ApJ

As part of our continuing campaign to measure the masses of pre-main sequence stars dynamically and thus to assess the reliability of the discrepant theoretical calculations of contraction to the main sequence, we present new results for NTTS 045251+3016, a visual and double-lined spectroscopic binary in the Taurus Star Forming Region. We obtained new high angular resolution astrometry and high spectral resolution spectroscopy at Keck Observatory. The new data lead to a significant revision of previously published orbital parameters. In particular, we find that the masses of the primary and secondary are 0.86+/-0.11 and 0.55+/-0.05 M_sun, respectively, smaller than previously reported, and that the system lies 158.7+/-3.9 pc from the sun, further than previously reported., Comment: 36pp; accepted for publication in the ApJ
