The study is undertaken to compare the use of non-alphanumeric characters in the titles of articles published in the IASLIC Bulletin (IB) and the Annals of Library and Information Studies (ALIS). This study is based on the total 567 publications appeared on IB and ALIS between the year 2011 and 2021. This study includes the distribution of publications by year, patterns of authorship, and the use of five often used non-alphanumeric characters: colon, comma, hyphen, question mark, and parenthesis. ALIS published 336 papers and IB published 231 articles over the study period, with an average relative growth rate (RGR) of 1.63 %. Cooperative authoring is more prevalent in both journals. The outcome also shows that 389 titles-216 in ALIS and 173 in IB-of the total 567 contributions appeared with non-alphanumeric characters. The colon (:) is the most often used alpha numeric character; in ALIS (78.85 %) and IB (64.51 %), double authors use it frequently. The study is an original research work intends to have a profound and noteworthy effect on researchers and library patrons who delve into the world of non-alphanumeric characters in research paper titles. This paper examined the Buddhist monks' attitudes toward monastic library and their reading preferences. These monks are attached with the Dali Monastery of Darjeeling. 62 residential and trainee monks participated in the survey. All the monks are male. Survey method has been adopted for the present study. A structured questionnaire was prepared and circulated among the monks. 80 questionnaires were distributed and among them 62 filled-in questionnaires were received with response rate of 77.5%. The researcher personally visited the monastery to collect data and get a chance to talk with the monks and closely observe the resources and facilities. Hence the findings are based on personal experience. Based on the findings the study suggested some recommendations for the improvement of monastic library and also calls for the coordinated efforts of all stakeholders for the development of this treasure house of knowledge. This paper is an attempt to examine the present status and position of Government and Government sponsored public libraries in the Kalimpong district of West Bengal in terms of their establishments, membership patterns, physical facilities, staff strength, their collections, organizations, services and computer facilities etc. A total of 30 structured questionnaires were distributed among the Public Libraries across this hilly area and all the questionnaires were duly obtained with a response rate of 100%. Based on the findings the study suggests some recommendations for building functional and sound public libraries for providing effective and efficient library services to the hill community. The present study is an attempt to evaluate the authorship and collaboration pattern in IASLIC bulletin during the year 2011-2018. Total 162 articles published during the study period and out of which only 59 articles are published by single author and rest 103 articles are published by two or more than two authors. So it is clear from the study that multiple authorship patterns are prominent in the journal. In the study it has been counted that the average collaboration index is 1.76, average degree of collaboration is 0.64, average collaboration coefficient is 0.56, and average modified collaboration coefficient is 0.34, average relative growth rate is 0.25 and average doubling time is 2.92 during the year 2011-2018. This paper is an attempt to understand and evaluate the use of Sub-Divisional Library by the students of various Government, Government Sponsored and Private Schools of Kalimpong, West Bengal with respect to their demographical detail, purpose and frequency of using library, meeting required information by the libraries, difficulty in getting information, library collections and staffs, and their overall satisfaction to the services provided by the library. Hence a survey of 81 students of various schools across the tiny hilly station Kalimpong was conducted through structured questionnaire and out of which 73 questionnaires were duly obtained with a response rate of 90.12%. The results call for building functional and sound subdivisional library to attract more students for its optimal utility and in meeting the information needs of students which ultimately augment the image of public librarianship in the expanse. This paper is an attempt to assess the library awareness among the non-users of Government and Government sponsored Public libraries in the hilly areas of Darjeeling district of West Bengal with respect to their personal characteristics, library membership of their family members, reasons of not becoming the library members, their familiarity with nearest public library preference of reading materials in the library willingness and approach to become member of library awareness of free reading facility in the library, sources of their information needs, difficulties in obtaining their information and their opinion about the library providing these information. Hence a survey of 61 non-users of public libraries across the hilly areas was conducted through a structured questionnaire.
