Understanding of dicofol's behavior in soil is crucial for more precise pest control and minimal environmental effect. Therefore, the goal of this study was to assess how the physicochemical characteristics of 10 selected soils effects the sorption and degradation of dicofol behavior. The behavior of dicofol, including its adsorption and desorption properties as well as its rates of hydrolysis and photolysis degradation, was thoroughly examined via definitive studies. Standard batch equilibration mode for sorption revealed that it was dependent on the physical and chemical properties of the soil. Exothermic and spontaneous adsorption processes, which were characterized by a negative Gibbs free energy value, were convincingly proven by thermodynamic study. The current investigation's ΔG estimations varied from −18.6 kjmol−1 for soil-6 to −24.25 kjmol−1 for soil-9. The soil-7 with a notable organic matter content (1.81%) showed the maximum adsorption, and subsequently producing a C-type isotherm that was analyzed using a linear and Freundlich model. An analytical process using UV-VIS spectrophotometry to determine the fate of dicofol in soil matrices. Hydrolysis and photolysis studies yielded minimum half-lives of 13.4 and 1.32 days, respectively. It has been demonstrated that dicofol molecules interact strongly with soils, principally via physio-sorption mechanisms. In contrast to its strong soil affinity and permanence, dicofol exhibits a counterintuitive behavior that makes it vulnerable to sunlight-induced deterioration. Polyaniline (PANI) stands out as a highly promising conducting polymer with potential for advanced utilization in high-performance pseudocapacitors. Therefore, there exists a pressing need to bolster the structural durability of PANI, achievable by developing composite materials that can enhance its viability for supercapacitor applications. In this particular study, a pioneering approach was undertaken to produce a novel NiMn2O4/PANI supercapacitor electrode material. A comprehensive array of analytical techniques was employed to ascertain the structural configuration, morphology, oxidation states of elements, composition, and surface characteristics of the electrode material. The electrochemical evaluation of the NiMn2O4/PANI composite shows a specific capacitance (Cs) of 1530 ± 2 F g−1 at 1 A g−1. Significantly, the composite material displays an outstanding 93.61% retention of its capacity after an extensive 10 000 cycles, signifying remarkable cycling stability, while the 2-electrode configuration reveals a Cs value of 764 F g−1 at 5 mV s−1 and 826 F g−1 at 1 A g−1 with a smaller charge transfer resistance (Rct) value of 0.67 Ω. Chronoamperometric tests showed excellent stability of the fabricated material up to 50 h. This significant advancement bears immense promise for its potential implementation in high-efficiency energy storage systems and heralds a new phase in the development of supercapacitor technology with improved stability and performance metrics. Hydroxyapatite is the one of the promising defluoridating material. For easy separation and to enhance defluoridation capacity (DC), magnetic iron oxide cum β‐cyclodextrin functionalized hydroxyapatite was prepared and because of its powder form it cannot be used in column studies. To make functionalized magnetic hydroxyapatite in usable bead form it was encapsulated using hybrid biopolymers chitosan and gelatin named as magnetic iron oxide/gelatin‐chitosan/hydroxyapatite/β‐cyclodextrin (MGCHC) composite beads were fabricated and utilized for rapid fluoride removal. The obtained MGCHC hybrid beads exhibited DC of 4985 mgF− kg−1 within 30 min. In co‐anions studies, Cl−, SO42− and NO3− had little influence on fluoride adsorption, whereas HCO3− had major influence on fluoride adsorption. The isotherm and kinetic data of MGCHC beads toward fluoride removal was effectively portrayed with Langmuir and pseudo‐second order model respectively. Defluoridation mechanism of MGCHC beads were mainly followed by electrostatic attraction, ion‐exchange and complexation. This investigation using MGCHC beads affords cost‐effective and eco‐friendly for fluoride removal which gives a practicable way for the fluoride treatment from field water. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Cu3SbSe4 is a potential p-type thermoelectric material, distinguished by its earth-abundant, inexpensive, innocuous, and environmentally friendly components. Nonetheless, the thermoelectric performance is poor and remains subpar. Herein, the electrical and thermal transport properties of Cu3SbSe4 were synergistically optimized by S alloying. Firstly, S alloying widened the band gap, effectively alleviating the bipolar effect. Additionally, the substitution of S in the lattice significantly increased the carrier effective mass, leading to a large Seebeck coefficient of ~730 μVK−1. Moreover, S alloying yielded point defect and Umklapp scattering to significantly depress the lattice thermal conductivity, and thus brought about an ultralow κlat ~0.50 Wm−1K−1 at 673 K in the solid solution. Consequently, multiple effects induced by S alloying enhanced the thermoelectric performance of the Cu3SbSe4-Cu3SbS4 solid solution, resulting in a maximum ZT value of ~0.72 at 673 K for the Cu3SbSe2.8S1.2 sample, which was ~44% higher than that of pristine Cu3SbSe4.
