Abstract

Polycarbonate (PC) resins are widely preferred by manufacturers to produce a large portfolio of products. It is in the group of thermoplastic polymers. PCs are durable, flame-retardant, and have efficient electricity insulation performance. They can be used to produce many different types of products like capacitors, dome lights, roofing sheets, compact disks, water bottles, decorative bezels, etc. It is a crucial issue to select rational PC resin specific to the application area. The manufacturers can optimize their processes, as well as finances by selecting the most appropriate resin. Many methods may be applied to optimize the selection process. In this paper, a Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) Model is proposed that considers both technical criteria and operational criteria. The Intuitionistic Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (IF-AHP) method is integrated into the Intuitionistic Fuzzy Goal Programming (IF-GP) method to weight criteria, assess the alternatives, and suggest ranking of the alternatives. A sensitivity analysis completes the methodology to determine the boundaries of the solution. The results reveal that they are very sensitive to weighting preferences since PC resin alternatives show very similar properties considering defined criteria. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Customer Relationship Management (CRM) becomes more important day by day as a result of technological developments. Besides improving their internal processes for customer satisfaction, companies especially with a high number of customers seek intelligent and well-designed methods for handling their customers by analyzing their behaviors and revealing their patterns. Companies transform their repetitive processes to Robotic Process Automation (RPA) by integrating systems based on intelligence, data mining, and machine learning techniques to save time, reveal patterns in data more easily, build robust interrelationships within the functions of the company, etc. As a part of these efforts, this study proposes an integrated CRM methodology to manage both Business to Business (B2B) and Business to Customer (B2C) relations. In the integrated approach, Recency, Frequency, and Monetary (RFM) Analysis divides the customers into segments that define their current status, DBSCAN Cluster Analysis verifies RFM Analysis and reveals the anomalies in the data fur further analysis, and Decision Tree Classification Algorithm predicts company-specific custom questions to ease the work of analysts. A Case Study on the data from AN-EL A.S. (an electrical components company) verifies that the methodology produces segments of the customers and predictive responses to custom questions to enable the analysts to carry out their actions easily. According to the results of the case study, 34 % of the customers should be contacted to detail the status of the business in terms of sample approval, new purchase order, arrangement of batch size etc. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Astım, solunum yollarının havayolu aşırı duyarlılığı ve kronik inflamasyonu ile karakterize bir hastalığıdır. Solunum yolları risk faktörlerine maruz kaldığında inflamasyon, mukus plakları ve bronkokonstriksiyon ile hava akımı sınırlanmasına neden olur.Astım hastalığı toplumu hem ekonomik hem de sosyal anlamda etkilemektedir. Tüm dünyada önemli bir okul ve iş gücü kaybı nedeni olup; astımın topluma maliyeti hesaplanırken sadece hastane ve tedavi giderleri değil, işgücü kaybı (hasta ve yakınlarının) ile astıma bağlı erken ölümlerde göz önüne alınmalıdır.Biz de bu çalışmada, GINA (Global Initiative for asthma: Global Initiative for Asthma Prevention and Treatment) kriterlerine göre astım tanısı almış hastalarda hastaneye yatış sıklığını etkileyen faktörleri araştırmayı amaçladık.Çalışmaya 18 yaşın üstünde, 80 (60K/20E) astımlı hasta dahil edildi. Hastaların demografik özellikleri, anamnez ve fizik muayeneleri, antropometrik değerlendirmeleri, ilaç kullanım öyküleri, eşlik eden sistemik hastalıkları kaydedildi. Son 1 ve 5 yılda acile başvuruları ve hastaneye yatışları sorgulanarak, solunum fonksiyon testleri (SFT) ve prick testleri yapıldı, kan hemogram, C- reaktif protein (CRP), Immunglobin E (IgE), serum eosinofili düzeylerine bakıldı.Her bir hasta için; Kontrole Dayalı Astım Sınıflaması (GINA 2011), Astım Kontrol Testi (AKT), Astım Yaşam Kalitesi Ölçeği (AQLQ) , Short Form 36 (SF-36) Hayat Kalitesi Formu, Hastane Anksiyete ve Depresyon Skalası (HAD) kaydedildi.Astımlı hastaların yaş ortalaması 50.3±12.0 yıl ( 20-80) idi. GINA-2011 rehberine göre 26 hasta kontrol altında, 37 hasta kısmi kontrol altında, 17 hasta ise kontrol altında değildi. Son bir yıl içinde hastane yatışı olan hasta sayısı 18 (%22.5), son beş yıl içinde hastaneye yatışı olan hasta sayısı ise 27 (%33.7) olarak saptandı. Hastalar son 5 yılda hastaneye yatışı olanlar (HYO) grup 1 ve hastaneye yatışı olmayanlariv(HYOM) grup 2 olarak iki gruba ayrıldı. Gruplar arasında cinsiyet (p=0.1 ), yaş (p=0.4), VKİ (p=0.4), sigara paket/yıl (p=0.4) karşılaştırıldığında anlamlı fark tespit edilmedi. Grup 1?de sık solunum yolu enfeksiyonu geçirme (p=0.006), geçirilmiş pnömoni (p=0.02) ve eşlik eden hastalıklar (p=0.04) grup 2?ye göre istatistiksel anlamlı olarak daha fazlaydı. Gruplar şikayetlerini başlatan veya arttıran tetikleyici faktörler açısından değerlendirildiğinde; hastaneye yatışı olanlarda evde beslenen hayvanlar (p=0.01) istatistiksel anlamlı, ruhsal durum (p=0.051) ise sınırda anlamlı olarak hastaneye yatışı olmayanlara göre daha sık astımı tetikleyici faktörler olarak bulundu.Multiple Lojistik regresyon analiziyle cinsiyet, yaş, VKİ gözönüne alındığında FEV1% ve AKT puanı, hastaneye yatışın önemli belirleyicileri olarak saptandı.Sonuç olarak astım yaygın görülen kronik bir hastalıktır. Günümüzde astım tedavisinin hedefi astım kontrolünün sağlanmasıdır. Bizde bu çalışmamızda astımlı hastalarda hastaneye yatış sıklığı ve etkileyen faktörleri araştırdık, FEV1% ve AKT puanını hastaneye yatışın önemli belirleyicileri olarak bulduk. Bu faktörlerin astımlı hastaların takip ve kontrolünde dikkate alınması, hastaların hastaneye yatış sıklığını azaltarak, okul ve iş gücü kaybını azaltacak böylece astımın topluma olan maliyeti azaltılıp, hastaların yaşam kalitesinin artırılmış olması sağlanmış olunacaktır.Anahtar Kelimeler: Astım, hastaneye yatış, tetikleyen faktörler Asthma is disease characterized with hyper sensitiveness of airways and chronic inflammation of respiratory passages. When respiratory airways exposed to risk factors inflammation causes air flow limitation with mucous plates and bronchoconstriction.Asthma disease effects society both in terms of economy and social aspects. It is a major reason for school and labor force losses in globe and not only hospital and treatment costs but also labor force losses (patients and their relatives) and premature deaths should also be considered when calculating asthma?s costs to society.We in this study aimed to research hospitalization frequency and factors effecting this for asthma diagnosed patients per GINA (Global Initiative for asthma: Global Initiative for Asthma Prevention and Treatment) criteria.80 (60F/20M) asthma patients over 18 involved to study. Demographical characteristics, anamnesis and physical examinations, anthropometric assessments, drug use histories and accompanying systemic diseases of patient are recorded. Emergency applications in last 1 and 5 years and their hospitalization are interrogated and respiration function tests (SFT) and prick tests are done, blood hemogram, C-reactive protein (CRP), Immunoglobulin E (IgE), serum eosinophil levels are checked.Control Based Asthma Classification (GINA 2011), Asthma Control Test (AKT), Asthma Quality of Life Questionnaire (AQLQ), Short Form 36 (SF 36) Life Quality Form, Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HAD) is recorded for eah patient.Age average of asthma patients was 50.3±12.0 years (20-80). 26 patients were under control, 37 of them were under partial control and 17 patients were not under control per GINA-2011 guide. Number of patient having hospitalized in last five years is established as 27 (33.7%). Patients are divided into two groups as patientv ihospitalized in last 5 years (HYO) group 1 and patient those not hospitalized (HYOM) group 2. No significant difference was established when groups are compared by means of gender (p=0.1 ), age (p=0.4), VKİ (p=0.4), cigarette package/year (p=0.4). Frequent respiratory passage infections (p=0.006), pneumonia gone through (p=0.02) and accompanying diseases (p=0.04) was significantly statistically more than Group 1. When groups are considered by triggering factors commencing or increasing their complaints; pets for the patients hospitalized (p=0.01) are found to be statistical meaningful and psychological mood (p=0.051) found to be meaningful in limits as the factors triggering asthma when compared to those patients not hospitalized.When gender, age, VKİ is considered for Multiple Logistics regression analysis, FEV1% and AKT grade is established to be major determinants hospitalization. Consequently asthma is an endemic chronic disease. In present day objective of asthma treatment is providing asthma control. We in our study investigated factors effecting hospitalization frequency for asthma patients and found out FEV1% and AKT grade as the most important determinants of hospitalization. Considering of these factors for monitoring and control of asthma patients will decrease hospitalization frequency of asthma patients and reduce school and labor force losses and by this way cost of asthma to society will be decreased and life uality of patients will be ensured.Key Words: Asthma, hospitalization, triggering factors. 100

Abstract

To standardize data collection and processing procedures, three Veterans Administration sleep laboratories established standard procedures "on paper," implemented them in a study, and assessed scoring agreement for sleep EEG-EOG recordings. The first phase of the study resulted in a detailed written description of all basic procedures. For the second, each laboratory evaluated 6 mentally and physically healthy males on three consecutive nights. Overall scoring agreement was about 90%. It was at least 89% between pairs of laboratories for stage 0, 59% for stage 1, 95% for stage 1 REM, 92% for stage 2, and 80% for stages 3+4. Values for standard sleep EEG-EOG parameters were generally similar among scoring laboratories, and interlaboratory scoring agreement compared favorably with one measure of intralaboratory agreement. The low agreement for stage I is attributable to the infrequent and sporadic occurrence of stage I and is considered to be trivial. That for stages 3+4 is more critical and is probably related to the subjective process involved in scoring these stages. These data indicated that these techniques produced a high degree of interlaboratory standardization, and consequently, concurrence in sleep stage scoring. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

The article presents a research study which reports on sexual dysfunction in men with narcolepsy syndrome. The authors present several cases where narcoleptic people have sexual dysfunction. One case is of a 73-year-old man who had excessive daytime sleepiness since the age of 15 years. Another case is of a 55-year retired man who was presented with the complaint of erectile failure that had developed after years of normal functioning. According to the authors, erectile impotence has major effects on patients' marital and social life.
