Objectives: Chest X-ray is correlated with pulmonary function of asbestos related disease. These correlations limited by low specific and sensitive. Computed tomography (CT) more sensitive. There was no adopted for the measurement of CT. Our aim in this study was to determine correlation between pleural plaque (PP) volume and lung function for use improving classification with CT. Methods: The study included 75 patients with environmental asbestos exposure. PP areas measured in patients were divided by the patient lung area to determine PP ratio with CT. Diffusing capacity and six minute walking distance (6MWD) measured and evaluated quality of life. Results:PP identified in 66 (88%) of the patients with CT. PP most frequently noted in the front right quadrant and had an average plaque volume of 7729,17 mm3. Plaque ratio taken as the percentage of the ratio to the lung volume, mean plaque percentage was 0,37±0,45% (0,003-2,3). In 12(18,1%) of the patients, asbestosis not seen with chest X-ray was detected with CT. Conclusions: PP volume and ratios were not statistically significantly correlated with respiratory functions, exercise capacity, cumulative amount of exposure. Patient of asbestos disease total lung capacity was lower, 6MWD distance was shorter and quality of life was poorer. (Sarcoidosis Vasc Diffuse Lung Dis 2017; 34: 336-342)

OBJECTIVE. This article discusses the basics of unenhanced MR angiography (MRA) and MR venography (MRV), time-resolved contrast-enhanced (CE) MRA and dynamic firstpass CE perfusion MRI, and unenhanced and CE MRV, in addition to assessing the clinical relevance of these techniques for evaluating patients with suspected pulmonary thromboembolism and deep venous thrombosis. CONCLUSION. Since the 1990s, the efficacy of MRA or MRV and dynamic perfusion MRI for patients with suspected pulmonary thromboembolism and deep venous thrombosis has been evaluated. On the basis of the results of single-center trials, comprehensive MRI protocols, including pulmonary unenhanced and CE MRA, perfusion MRI, and MRV, promise to be safe and time effective for assessing patients with suspected pulmonary thromboembolism, although future multicenter trials are required to assess the real clinical value of MRI. © 2017 American Roentgen Ray Society.

Ikiz gebeliklerde kromozomal ve yapısal anomali riski altmış olup fetal kayıp görülebilir. lkiz gebelikteki tek fctiisiin ölümü yaşayan ikiz eşinde perinatal morbidite ve mortaliteyi, annede ise koagülopati riskini artırmaktadır. Bu çalışmada fet'Lislerden birinin Turner sendromlu olduğu vc fetal hidrops ilc büyük kistik higromanm eşlik ettiği bir ikiz gebelik olgusu sunulmaktadır. Anormal fetüs 22. gebelik haftasmda kaybedildi ve gebelik koruyucu yönetimle izlenerek sağlıklı fetüs sezaryen ile doğurtuldu. İkiz eşinin kaybının eşlik ettiği ikiz gebeliklerdeki tüketim koagülopatisi ve fetal redüksiyon işlemleri tanışıldı

Müllerian adenosarkom daha çok postmenapozal dönemdeki kadınları etkileyen nadir bir tümördür. Patolojik olarak düşük gradeli endometrial stromal sarkom ve çoğunlukla benign, ama bazen de atipik glandüler epitelden oluşur. Hastalar çoğunlukla karın ağrısı, huzursuzluk ve uterin kanama şikayetiyle başvururlar. Bu yazıda abse formasyonuyla komplike olan ve postoperatif dönemde sepsis gelişen bir Müllerian adenosarkom olgusunu sunmayı amaçladık. Müllerian adenosarkomlar rölatif olarak iyi prognoza sahip nadir görülen tümörler olmakla birlikte klinik tablo nekroza sekonder gelişen enfeksiyon, abse gelişimi ve postoperatif sepsisle komplike olabilmektedir., Mullerian adenosarcoma is a rare tumor usually affecting the postmenapousal women. Patients generally present with abdominal pain, discomfort and uterine bleeding, and a mixture of low grade endometrial stromal sarcoma, and benign but sometimes atypical glandular epithelium were detected on histopathologic exam. Herein, we present an unusual case of Mullerian adenosarcoma complicated with abscess formation leading to sepsis postoperatively. Mullerian adenosarcomas are uncommon tumors with relatively good prognosis, however necrosis and secondary infection may lead to abscess formation and complicate the clinical picture with postoperative sepsis.

AMAÇ: Çalışmamızda, bazı radyolojik görüntüleme yöntemlerinde hastaların maruz kaldığı doz hakkında araştırma görevlileri, tıp öğrencileri, hemşireler ve hastane personelinin bilgi düzeyini araştırmak amaçlandı.YÖNTEMLER: Çalışma tanımlayıcı nitelikte kesitsel bir araştırma olup veriler anket yoluyla Nisan 2013 ile Haziran 2013 tarihleri arasında bir üniversite hastanesinde çalışan asistan hekim, tıp fakültesi öğrencileri, hemşire ve görevli personelden gönüllü olanların, anket sorularını gözlem altında cevaplandırılması şeklinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmamız için üniversite etik kurulu onayı alınmıştır.BULGULAR: Çalışma süresince toplam 274 hastane çalışanı ile görüşüldü. Katılmayı kabul eden 250 kişi (%91,2) çalışma grubumuzu oluşturdu. Tüm katılımcılar için radyolojik tetkikler içinde manyetik rezonansın (MR) ve ultrason görüntülemenin (USG) radyasyon içerdiğini düşünenlerin oranı sırasıyla %38 (n=95) ve %19,6 (n=49) olarak belirlendi. Katılımcıların çoğunluğu, abdominal BT, baryumlu mide grafisi ve abdominal grafinin olduğundan daha az, mamografinin ise olduğundan daha çok radyasyon içerdiğini belirtti. Gebelerin radyasyondan korunmasıyla ilgili sorularda katılımcıların doğru yanıt oranları %90’ın üzerinde bulundu.SONUÇ: İyonizan radyasyonla ilgili bilgi seviyesinin azlığı, radyolojik tetkiklerin güvenli kullanımı açısından, mezuniyet öncesi ve sonrası radyoloji eğitiminin yenilenmesi ve iyileştirilmesinin gerekliliğini göstermektedir., Purpose:The aim of this study was to investigate the level of knowledge medical students, assistant doctors, nurses and hospital workers have about the doses of radiation. Materials and methods: Our study was a descriptive investigation and the data was collected by conducting a questionnaire from April 2013 to June 2013. The subjects, consisting of medical students, assistant doctors, nurses and hospital workers from a university hospital completed the questionnaire. The local ethics committee of the university approved the study protocol. Results:We interviewed 274 subjects and 250 (91.2%) of them accepted to complete the questionnaire and so, comprised the study group. The percentage of subjects who knew that MRI and US involved ionising radiation was 38% and 19.6%, respectively. Most of the subjects underestimated the dose of radiation involved in an abdominal CT, barium enema and plain film of the abdomen while others overestimated the dose of radiation in mammography. Correct answer rates about radiation protection of pregnant women were over 90%. Conclusion:Current pre and postgraduate radiology education seems to need revision and upgrading, to improve the knowledge level and facilitate safe practices in the medical field.
