Cu-based FeTi-reinforced metal matrix composites (MMCs) were produced with FeTi reinforcement additions of 6, 9, 12, 15 and 18[Formula: see text]wt.% by powder metallurgy. Microstructural characterization of Cu-based FeTi-reinforced composites was made by using scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction and hardness test. The effect of sintering temperatures on the densification of the synthesized powders was investigated. Sliding analyses were conducted to determine the wear behavior. The interface microstructure between FeTi and Cu at 1000∘C showed a significant difference. The hardness changed proportionally with the increase in the FeTi particles. The formation of the intermetallic phases CuTi, CuTi2, Cu4Ti3 and TiCu4 after sintering caused a higher wear resistance. A 75% reduction in wear rate was achieved by adding 18-wt.% FeTi to pure copper powder.

Copper shows promising characteristics for applications in electrical sliding contacts. In this study, copper reinforced polylactic acid (PLA-copper) composites manufactured by fused deposition modeling (FDM). Wear behaviour of PLA-copper composites under dry sliding conditions at three different temperature conditions (20oC, 50oC, 70oC) was evaluated by using pin-on-disc wear test equipment with attached heating module with 5N load applied at a sliding velocity of 104.7 mm/s. Tests have presented for 1040 steel bead interacting with polymer composite. Specific wear rates and coefficient of frictions of PLA-Cu polymer composites were evaluated. EDX analysis were conducted to examine the microstructure and scanning electron microscopy is used for the characterization of the worn surfaces. Malzemelerin mikroyapısını irdelemek adına EDX analizleri gerçekleştirilmiş ve aşındırılmış yüzeylerin karakterizasyonu için taramalı elektron mikroskobu (SEM) ile görüntüleri alınmıştır.

Thermoforming is a forming technique in which petrochemical-based thermoplastics, biodegradable plastics and also plastic composites can be formed. Due to recent developments in the packaging industry, it was understood that biodegradable plastics could replace petrochemical-based engineering plastics. In this study, a biodegradable Green Polyethylene (HDPE SGF 4950, BRASKEM) was thermoformed using two different moulds. Heating temperature and time for Green PE, vacuum value, vacuum and cooling time were determined during the experimental procedure. Spherical and conical semi-finished thermoformed samples were obtained and these samples were cut in to four symmetrical pieces. Thickness measurements were achieved on some predetermined paths in quarter samples. Additionally, thickness distribution on the same paths was predicted by GEA (Geometric Element Analysis). Predicted and obtained thickness distribution results compared to each other. Finally, we have found out that GEA is not the most efficient method to obtain the thickness distribution precisely. © 2018 International Journal of Modern Manufacturing Technologies.

Bu çalışmada, AISI 1040 çelik malzemeden talaşlı şekil verme ile üretilmiş bir robot tutucunun yorulma hasarı, SolidWorks Simulations yazılımı kullanılarak araştırılmıştır. Tutucunun katı modeli SolidWorks yazılımında oluşturulmuş, SolidWorks Simulations ile lineer gerilme analizi ve yorulma hasarı kontrolü yapılmıştır. Tutucunun tasarımı değiştirilerek alternatif tasarımlar araştırılmıştır. Sonuç olarak tutucunun tasarımı geri beslemeli bir süreç sonrasında değişmiştir. Tutucunun ağırlığında yaklaşık % 20 azalma sağlanmıştır. Yapılan tasarım değişikliği sonrasında tutucuda oluşan maksimum gerilmelerin azaldığı ve robot tutucunun hasar alana kadar geçen süresinin arttığı belirlenmiştir, In this study, fatigue damage on a robot gripper which is made of AISI 1040 steel, was investigated by using SolidWorks Simulations. CAD data of the robot gripper was created by SolidWorks software. On the other hand, structural analysis and fatigue damage check were performed by SolidWorks Simulations. Design of the robot gripper was modified by using shape optimization and alternative shapes were tried to find out the best fatigue life for robot gripper. As a result, the design of the robot gripper was modified after a feedback process. 20 % decrease was provided in gripper weight. It is understood that, maximum stresses on fatigue damage area decreased and operating life was improved according to simulation results.

Bu çalışmada, enjeksiyon kalıplama yöntemiyle Polipropilen(PP) ve Poliamit(PA) 6.6 kullanılarak üretilmiş bir parçanın boyutsal kararlılığının, kalıp yüzey sıcaklığı, ergimiş polimer sıcaklığı gibi parametrelerin değişiminden nasıl etkilendiği Moldflow Plastics Insight yazılımı ile araştırılmıştır. Buna ek olarak, farklı takviye elemanları(cam elyaf, talk pudrası) ilavesinin boyutsal kararlılık üzerine etkisi de araştırılmıştır. Artan takviye elemanı miktarının toplam büzülmeyi azalttığı tespit edilmiştir. Kalıp yüzey sıcaklığının kademeli olarak düşürülmesi, PP ve PA 6.6 malzemeler için boyutsal sapmayı ve hacimsel büzülmeyi azalttığı görülmüştür. Ergimiş polimer sıcaklığının düşürülmesi ise yine her iki türden malzeme için hacimsel büzülme ve boyutsal sapmayı azaltmıştır. In this work, effect of mold surface temperature and polymer melt temperature on dimensional stability of a plastic part which is produced with Polypropylene and Polyamide 6.6 granules by injection molding process, was investigated using Moldflow Plastics Insight. In addition to this, the effect of adding different reinforcing elements(glass fiber, talc) in to the plastic matrix material on dimensional stability was investigated too. It has been determined that increasing amount of reinforcing element decreases the total shrinkage. Decreasing mold surface temperature by stages, has decreased warpage and volumetric shrinkage in PP and PA 6.6 materials. Decreasing polymer melt temperature has decreased warpage and volumetric shrinkage in varying proportions too.

Bu çalışmada mikrodalga fırında pirinanın ince tabaka kuruma kinetiği incelenmiştir. 7mm, 9mm ve 11mm kalınlıktaki pirina örnekleri; 90, 180, 360 ve 600W (2450 MHz) çıkış güçlerinde mikrodalgada kurutulmuş ve zamana bağlı olarak pirinanın nem içeriğindeki değişim belirlenmiştir. Mikrodalga çıkış gücündeki artma ile kuruma hızının arttığı saptanmıştır. Dört farklı mikrodalga çıkış gücünde nihai nem içeriklerine sırasıyla; 7mm kalınlığında pirina için 90W da 13250s, 360W da 1070s ve 600W da 820 saniyede ulaşılırken, 9mm kalınlığında pirina için 90W da 17640s, 360W da 1360s ve 600W da 990 saniyede ve 11mm kalınlığında pirina için 90W da 23440s, 360W da 1580s ve 600W da 1070 saniye sonunda ulaşılmıştır. Deneysel verileri değerlendirmek için literatürde önerilmiş olan Wang&Singh, Two Term, Two Term Exponential ve Midilli ve ark. ince tabaka kuruma modelleri kullanılmıştır. Modeller arasındaki kıyaslama R2 , F 2 ve es istatistiki parametreleri kullanılarak yapılmıştır. Kullanılan modeller arasında 7mm için Two Term Exponential, 9mm için Midilli ve ark. ve 11mm için Two Term modelinin pirinanın mikrodalga kuruma davranışını temsil eden en iyi modeller olduğu saptanmıştır. Ayrıca kurutma ile ilgili modelleme çalışmaları incelendiğinde efektif difüzyon katsayısının ve aktivasyon enerjisinin sırasıyla 1,17.10-5-4,11.10-6 m2/s ve 0,1190kJ/mol-0,3577 kJ/mol arasında değiştiği belirlenmiştir. Malzeme teknolojisinin hızla ilerlemesi çeşitli malzeme gruplarının ortaya çıkmasına neden olmuştur. Akıllı ve aktif malzemeler teknolojinin bu hızlı gelişiminde önemli bir yer almıştır. Bu malzemelerin kullanım alanlarının artması çeşitli pazarlarda dikkat çekmiştir. Bu alanlardan bir tanesi de ambalaj sektörüdür. Çeşitli ambalajlama teknikleri sayesinde ürünlerin tazelik, zaman-sıcaklık, oksijen ve karbondioksit oluşumu tüketiciye haber verilmekte ve tüketici bilinçlendirilmektedir. Bu bilgiler akıllı ambalajlama teknikleriyle sağlanmaktadır. Türkiye ve dünyada önemli besin maddeleri arasında sayılan ve fermente süt ürünü olan yoğurdun tüketiminin fazla olması ambalajlamada göz önüne alınacak unsurların en başındadır. Bu besin maddesinin bazı zararlı katkılar ile raf ömürlerinin arttırılması, bilinçlenen tüketici grubuyla birlikte doğal yoğurdun tercih edilmesini sağlamıştır. Doğal yoğurtta serumun oluşması ise bir dezavantaj oluşturmaktadır. Bu araştırmada; doğal yoğurtta oluşacak serum ile etkileşen ve sonuç olarak yüzeyinde renk değiştirmesine neden olan akıllı ambalaj malzemesi üretilmiştir. Muhafaza kaplarının üretilmesinde kullanılacak olan akıllı ambalaj malzemesinin oluşturulmasında, polipropilen polimeri ve katkı malzemesi olarak kalsine edilmiş kaolen organik maddesi kullanılmıştır. Üretilen akıllı ambalaj deney örnekleri üzerinde mekanik, fiziksel, ısıl ve renk değişim özelliklerini belirlemek amacıyla analizler yapılmıştır. Tüm bu analizler sonucunda üretilen akıllı ambalaj malzemesinin polipropilen içerisine katılan kaolen dolgusu ile ısıl özelliklerinin değiştiği, renk değişiminin oluştuğu, içyapıdaki kaolen dağılımının artmasıyla nem emiciliğinin arttığı saptanmıştır. Akıllı ambalaj deney örneklerinin mekanik deneylerinin sonucunda renk değişiminin artmasıyla birlikte mukavemetin arttığı, kopma uzamasının belirgin şekilde azaldığı gözlemlenmiştir. Darbe deneyi sonucunda akıllı malzemelerin ise enerji emiliminin azaldığı ve malzemenin daha kırılgan olduğu gözlemlenmiştir. Developments in the materials science technology have caused to create different kinds of material groups. Smart and active materials play a major role in rapid revolution of this technology. Increasing in the usage area of these materials has been of interest in various markets. One of the market is packaging industry. Freshness, time-temperature and occurrence of the oxygen and carbon dioxide is reported to consumer and the consumer is made conscious by different packaging techniques. These are provided by the smart packaging processes. More consumption of the yoghurt that is considered as an important food material and is fermented milk product in Turkey and all over the world is one major phenomenon to be taken in the account in packaging. Increase of the yoghurt’s shelf life by including some harmful additives has provided that natural yoghurt is preferred by conscious consumer population. Natural yoghurt resulting serum existence is disadvantage. In this study, smart material which has an interaction with serum in the natural yoghurt and resulting color change in the package material was produced. Through the preparation of smart material composition polypropylene thermoplastic grade has been employed and an organic material calcined kaolin has been used as an additive. Mechanical, physical, thermal and visual characteristics of produced smart material test specimens were investigated following experimental test procedure. According to these test results after addition of the kaolin into polypropylene resin, change in thermal properties, color change on the smart package material was observed. With increase of the kaolin distribution in structure of the polypropylene moisture absorbency was observed. Resulting mechanical test of smart packaging test specimens showed that with the increase in color change in test specimens, increase in strength of packaging material and significant decrease in elongation at break was observed. As a result of impact strength test energy absorption of test specimens decreased with the increasing color change and smart packaging material showed more brittle behavior.

Kompozit malzemeler; II. Dünya savaşı esnasında mevcut gelenekselmalzemelerin tek başlarına teknoloji karşısında belli ihtiyaçlara cevap veremez halegelmesi ile kullanılmaya başlanmıştır. Günümüze gelene kadar bu malzemelerin üretimive mekanik özellikleri üzerine araştırma ve geliştirme faaliyetleri genişleyerek devametmiştir ve etmektedir. Bu gelişmelerde tahrik edici güç, malzemelerde yüksek dayanımve yüksek elastiklik modülü oranı elde etmeye sebep olmuştur. Bu nedenlekompozitlerin değişik yerlerde kullanımı artış göstermiştir. Burç elemanı gergi rulmanının en çok aşınmaya maruz kalan elamanıdır. Burç malzemesinin aşınmasından dolayı gergi rulmanı görevini yerine getiremez ve araç için yüksek hasar oluşturabilir. Bu çalışmada gergi rulmanında kullanılan burç elemanının çeşitli kompozit malzemelerden üretilip mekanik özellikleri incelenmiştir. Çeşitli malzemelerden üretilen bu burç aşındırma test cihazında testlere tabi tutulmuş ve aşınma davranışları incelenmiştir. Bu çalışmanın amacı elde edilen sonuçlar değerlendirilerek en dayanıklı burç malzemesinin seçilmesi ile burcun ve dolayısıyla gergi rulmanının da uzun ömürlü olarak kullanılmasıdır. The bushing component is the most exposed member of a tensioner bearing. Due to the wear of the bushing material, the tensioner bearing cannot perform its duty and can cause high damage to the engine and vehicle. In this study, the mechanical properties of the bushing component used in the tensioner bearing was produced from various composite materials. This bushing produced from various materials was tested in wear tester and the wear behavior was examined. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the results and to choose the most durable bushing material and to use the bushing and thus the tensioner bearing for a long life. 109

Bu deneysel çalışmada çamaşır makinalarında kullanılan üniversal tip fırçalı elektrik motorunun(4 nokta bağlantılı fırçalı model) üretim süreci sırasında oluşan mekanik-tolerans hatalarının titreşim parametreleri üzerindeki etkisi araştırılmıştır.
