Pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) is a rare disease with an incidence of two per million. Acute appendicitis, ovarian mass, and abdominal distension are the most common presentations. A 72-yearold male patient with a history of laparoscopic cholecystectomy was admitted to the hospital with abdominal pain and increased supraumbilical port site swelling. Radiological examination revealed a mass in the terminal ileum and severe intraabdominal mucinous fluid. Intraabdominal gelatinous fluid protruding from the port site defect and a mass in the distal appendix were observed during operation. He underwent a right hemicolectomy, ileocolic anastomosis and peritoneal debridement; cytoreductive surgery was administered two months later due to mucinous tumor of the appendix. There are only a few case reports describing PMP presenting with an incisional hernia after open surgical procedures. To the best of our knowledge, this report describes the first case of PMP presenting with a port site hernia after a laparoscopic intervention. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Myiasis is more common in tropical and subtropical climate regions. However, it has been reported that myiasis has increased in number due to travel has become easier, business and touristic visits have increased. A 60-year-old male patient had Fournier's gangrene and had many fly larvae on the necrotic tissue of scrotum and perineum. The patient underwent emergent operation for debridement. The necrotic tissue was debrided and wound was closed with vacuum assisted closing. Acute appendicitis is the most common general surgery emergency in the whole world. Parasitic appendicitis is rarely seen among all appendicitis, although it is more common in endemic regions. An 18-year-old patient with complaint of abdominal pain underwent emergency surgery and appendectomy with a diagnosis of acute appendicitis. Pathological examination was reported as 'parasitic appendicitis caused by Ascaris Lumbricoides'. We believe that early diagnosis and treatment of parasitic infections will be effective in preventing possible mortality and morbidity due to surgical procedure. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
