Graphene alone, in modified form or its composites had find their explicit position in the field of adsorption technology and hence assist in detection and removal of heavy metals like Cd (permissible limit 0.1 mg/L), which can cause various physiological problems if entered in variety of biota. Attributed to their unique physiognomies graphene-based adsorbent had classed themselves superior as compared to other carbonaceous adsorbent like CNT’s or activated carbon, etc. This assessment summarizes the validity of graphene and its composite as a superior adsorbent for decontamination of Cd from aqueous environment; in addition, this evaluation also pronounces the toxicity profile of trace graphene and necessity of regeneration of the adsorbent. Graft copolymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA) onto Bombyx mori silk fibroin was investigated using ascorbic acid and hydrogen peroxide as redox system. The effect of different reaction parameters such as reaction time, temperature, and initiator and monomer concentrations on graft yield were determined. The optimum grafting conditions were found to be temperature = 65°C, time = 120 min, monomer concentration = 2.82 × 10−1 mol/L, ascorbic acid concentration = 2.83 × 10−2 mol/L, and H2O2concentration = 1.58 × 10−1 mol/L. Replacement of maxillary anterior teeth in patients with natural diastema present problems as the increased mesio-distal space makes it difficult to give normal fixed prosthesis with rigid connector. Uniform diastema present before extraction may result in excessive width of the pontic space. Wider pontics can be very unesthetic to look at in the esthetic zone. This is a challenging clinical situation for the prosthodontist and leaves him in a dilemma whether to close the space or to maintain it in the final fixed prosthesis to simulate the natural tooth appearance. If an implant-supported prosthesis is not possible or not selected as a treatment option, loop connector fixed partial denture may be the best solution to maintain the diastema and esthetics. Two case reports have been presented here describing the procedure of replacing missing central and lateral incisor with loop connector fixed partial prosthesis while maintaining diastema.
