In this paper, we would like to examine whether stable de Sitter inflationary solutions appear within power-law extensions of the Starobinsky model. In particular, we will address general constraints for the existence along with the stability of de Sitter inflationary solutions in a general case involving not only the Starobinsky $R^2$ term but also an additional power-law $R^n$ one. According to the obtained results, we will be able to identify which extension is more suitable for an early inflationary phase rather than a late-time cosmic acceleration phase. To be more specific, we will consider several values of $n$ to see whether the corresponding de Sitter inflationary solutions are stable or not., Comment: 40 pages, 20 figures. In this paper, we investigate the validity of the so-called cosmic no-hair conjecture in the framework of anisotropic inflation models of non-canonical scalar fields non-minimally coupled to a two-form field. In particular, we focus on two typical {\it k}-inflation and Dirac-Born-Infeld inflation models, in which we find a set of exact anisotropic power-law inflationary solutions. Interestingly, these solutions are shown to be stable and attractive during an inflationary phase using the dynamical system analysis. The obtained results indicate that the non-minimal coupling between the scalar and two-form fields acts as a non-trivial source of generating stable spatial anisotropies during the inflationary phase and therefore violates the prediction of the cosmic no-hair conjecture, even when the scalar field is of non-canonical forms. In connection with the Planck 2018 data, tensor-to-scalar ratios of these anisotropic solutions are investigated. As a result, it appears that the tensor-to-scalar ratio of the anisotropic power-law inflationary solution of {\it k}-inflation model turns out to be more highly consistent with the Planck 2018 data than that of Dirac-Born-Infeld model., Comment: 24 pages, 8 figures. Cosmological implication of a generalized model of two scalar and two vector fields, in which both scalar fields are non-minimally coupled to each vector field, is studied in this paper. In particular, we will seek a set of new anisotropic power-law inflationary solutions to this model. Additionally, the stability of the obtained solutions will be examined by using the dynamical system approach. As a result, we will show that this set of solutions turns out to be stable and attractive during the inflationary phase as expected due to the existence of the unusual couplings between two scalar and two vector fields. In this paper, we extend a recent proposed model of two scalar and two vector fields to a hyperbolic inflation scenario, in which the field space of two scalar fields is a hyperbolic space instead of a flat space. In this model, one of the scalar fields is assumed to be a radial field, while the other is set as an angular field. Furthermore, both scalar fields will be coupled to two different vector fields, respectively. As a result, we are able to obtain a set of exact Bianchi type I solutions to this model. Stability analysis is also performed to show that this set of anisotropic solutions is indeed stable and attractive during the inflationary phase. Inspired by an interesting counterexample to the cosmic no-hair conjecture found in a supergravity-motivated model recently, we propose a multi-field extension, in which two scalar fields are allowed to non-minimally couple to two vector fields, respectively. This model is shown to admit an exact Bianchi type I power-law solution. Furthermore, stability analysis based on the dynamical system method is performed to show that this anisotropic solution is indeed stable and attractive if both scalar fields are canonical. Effect of non-canonical scalar fields on the CMB imprints of the anisotropic inflation will be discussed in details in this paper. In particular, we are able to obtain the general formalism of the angular power spectra in the scalar perturbations, tensor perturbations, cross-correlations, and linear polarization in the context of the anisotropic inflation model involving non-canonical scalar fields. Furthermore, some significant numerical spectra will be plotted using the most recent data of Planck as well as the BICEP2 and Keck array. As a result, we find a very interesting point that the $TT$ spectra induced by the tensor perturbations as well as by the linear polarization will increase when the speed of sound decreases., Comment: 22 pages, 7 figures, minor revision with additional discussions on some important results investigated by other people. A set of power-law solutions of a conformal-violating Maxwell model with a non-standard scalar-vector coupling will be shown in this paper. In particular, we are interested in a coupling term of the form $X^{2n} F^{\mu\nu}F_{\mu\nu}$ with $X$ denoting the kinetic term of the scalar field. Stability analysis indicates that the new set of anisotropic power-law solutions is unstable during the inflationary phase. The result is consistent with the cosmic no-hair conjecture. We show, however, that a set of stable slowly expanding solutions does exist for a small range of parameters $\lambda$ and $n$. We study the Starobinsky or $R^2$ model of $f(R)=R+\alpha R^2$ for neutron stars with the structure equations represented by the coupled differential equations and the \emph{polytropic} type of the matter equation of state. The junction conditions of $f(R)$ gravity are used as the boundary conditions to match the Schwarschild solution at the surface of the star. Based on these the conditions, we demonstrate that the coupled differential equations can be solved \emph{directly}. In particular, from the dimensionless equation of state $\bar{\rho} = \bar{k}\, \bar{p}^{\,\gamma}$ with $\bar{k}\sim5.0$ and $\gamma\sim0.75$ and the constraint of $\alpha\lesssim {1.47722}\times 10^{7}\, \text{m}^2$, we obtain the \emph{minimal} mass of the NS to be around 1.44 $M_{\odot}$. We investigate the generation of large-scale magnetic fields due to the breaking of the conformal invariance in the electromagnetic field through the $CPT$-even dimension-six Chern-Simons-like effective interaction with a fermion current by taking account of the dynamical Kalb-Ramond and scalar fields in inflationary cosmology. Stability analysis of the Kantowski-Sachs type universe in pure higher derivative gravity theory is studied in details. The existence and stability analysis of an inflationary solution in a $D+4$-dimensional anisotropic induced gravity is presented in this paper. Nontrivial conditions in the field equations are shown to be compatible with a cosmological model in which the 4-dimension external space evolves inflationary, while, the D-dimension internal one is static. In particular, only two additional constraints on the coupling constants are derived from the abundant field equations and perturbation equations. Modified Newtonian dynamics can be considered as an effect derived from a squeezable extra dimension space. The third law of Newtonian dynamics can be managed to remain valid in the 5-space. Dynamics of spiral galaxies derived from a given surface mass density has been derived earlier in a classic paper. We try to transform the singular elliptic function in the integral into a compact integral with regular elliptic function. Solvable models are also considered as expansion basis for RC data. Modified Newtonian dynamics, a successful alternative to the cosmic dark matter model, proposes that gravitational field deviates from the Newtonian law when the field strength $g$ is weaker than a critical value $g_0$. Modified Newtonian dynamics proposed that gravitational field needs modifications when the field strength $g$ is weaker than a critical value $g_0$. This has been shown to be a good candidate as an alternative to cosmic dark matter. There is another way to look at this theory as a length scale dependent theory. One will show that modification of the Newtonian field strength depends on the mass distribution and the coordinate scale of the system. It is useful to separate the effective gravitation field $g(r)$ into a small scale (or short-distance)$g_s$ field and a large scale (or a long-distance) $g_l$ field that should be helpful for a better understanding of the underlying physics. Motivated by a nice result shown by E. Linder, a detailed discussion on the choice of the expansion parameters of the Maclaurin series for the equation of states of a perfect fluid is presented in this paper. We show that their nice recent result is in fact a linear approximation to the full Maclaurin series as a power series of the parameter $y=z/(1+z)$. The power series for the energy density function, the Hubble parameter and related physical quantities of interest are also shown in this paper. The method presented here will have significant application in the precision distance-redshift observations aiming to map out the recent expansion history of the universe. We show explicitly that traversable wormholes requiring exotic matter in 4-dimensions nevertheless have acceptable stress-tensors obeying reasonable energy conditions in higher dimensions if the wormholes are regarded as being embedded in higher dimensional space-times satisfying Einstein's field equations. A useful and universal formula for the expectation value of the radial operator in the presence of the Aharonov-Bohm flux and the Coulomb Field is established. We find that the expectation value $< r^{\lambda}>$ $(-\infty \leq \lambda \leq \infty)$ is greatly affected due to the non-local effect of the magnetic flux although the Aharonov-Bohm flux does not have any dynamical significance in classical mechanics. In particular, the quantum fluctuation increases in the presence of the magnetic flux due to the Aharonov-Bohm effect. We consider the evolution of small rotational perturbations, with azimuthal symmetry, of the brane-world cosmological models. The equations describing the temporal, radial, and angular dependence of the perturbations are derived by taking into account the effects of both scalar and tensor parts of the dark energy term on the brane. The time decay of the initial rotation is investigated for several types of equation of state of the ultra-high density cosmological matter. For an expanding Universe, rotation always decays in the case of the perfect dragging, for which the angular velocity of the matter on the brane equals the rotation metric tensor. For non-perfect dragging, the behavior of the rotation is strongly equation of state dependent. For some classes of dense matter, like the stiff causal or the Chaplygin gas, the angular velocity of the matter on the brane is an increasing function of time. For other types of the ultra-dense matter, like the Hagedorn fluid, rotation is smoothed out by the expansion of the Universe. Therefore the study of dynamics of rotational perturbations of brane world models, as well as in general relativity, could provide some insights on the physical properties and equation of state of the cosmological fluid filling the very early Universe., Comment: final version to appear in JCAP

The stability of the Bianchi type I anisotropic brane cosmology is analyzed in this paper. We also study the effect of the brane solution by comparing the models on the 3-brane and the models in the conventional Einstein's space. Analysis is presented for two different models: one with a perfect fluid and the other one with a dilaton field. It is shown that the anisotropic expansion is smeared out dynamically for both theories in the large time limit independent of the models with different types of matter. The initial states are, however, dramatically different. A primordial anisotropic expansion will grow for the conventional Einstein's theory. On the other hand, it is shown that the initial state is highly isotropic for the brane universe except for a very particular case. Moreover, it is also shown that the Bianchi type I anisotropic cosmology is stable against any anisotropic perturbation for both theories in the large time limit., Comment: 14 pages, 6 figures

First order rotational perturbations of the Friedmann-Robertson-Walker metric are considered in the framework of the brane-world cosmological models. A rotation equation, relating the perturbations of the metric tensor to the angular velocity of the matter on the brane is derived under the assumption of slow rotation. The mathematical structure of the rotation equation imposes strong restrictions on the temporal and spatial dependence of the brane matter angular velocity. The study of the integrable cases of the rotation equation leads to three distinct models, which are considered in detail. As a general result we find that, similarly to the general relativistic case, the rotational perturbations decay due to the expansion of the matter on the brane. The semiclassical quantization rule is derived for a system with a spherically symmetric potential $V(r) \sim r^{\nu}$ $(-2<\nu <\infty)$ and an Aharonov-Bohm magnetic flux. Numerical results are presented and compared with known results for models with $\nu = -1,0,2,\infty$. It is shown that the results provided by our method are in good agreement with previous results. One expects that the semiclassical quantization rule shown in this paper will provide a good approximation for all principle quantum number even the rule is derived in the large principal quantum number limit $n \gg 1$. We examine the analytic properties of the photon polarization function in a background magnetic field, using the technique of inverse Mellin transform. The photon polarization function is first expressed as a power series of the photon energy $\omega$ with $\omega< 2m_e$. Based upon this energy expansion and the branch cut of the photon polarization function in the complex $\omega$ plane, we compute the absorptive part of the polarization function with the inverse Mellin transform. Stability analysis of the Bianchi type I universe in pure gravity theory is studied in details. We first derive the non-redundant field equation of the system by introducing the generalized Bianchi type I metric. This non-redundant equation reduces to the Friedmann equation in the isotropic limit. It is shown further that any unstable mode of the isotropic perturbation with respect to a de Sitter background is also unstable with respect to anisotropic perturbations.
