İmge, sözcüklerin sıradanlaşmış kullanımlarının dışına çıkarak zihinsel anlamda yeni ufuklara, yeni çağrışımlara, yeni sözcük evrenlerine ulaşmayı sağlayan bir üst dil kurar. Bu sayede günlük iletişim dilinden farklı olarak sözcükler, yalın hâllerinden sıyırılarak hem yazanın hem de okuyanın zihinsel dünyasında giderek genişleyen kimi zaman çakışan kimi zaman da ayrılan anlamlar dünyası oluşturur. Edebî türler içerisinde dil yapısı bakımından diğerlerinden ayrılan şiir dili, imge kullanımına daha elverişli bir yapıya sahiptir. Daha az sözcükle daha derin ve çokkatmanlı bir anlam dünyası aralayan şiir, hem yazanın hem de okuyanın zihinsel anlamda yeni dünyalara açılmasını sağlayan bir yapı arz eder.Sanatçılar içinde yaşadıkları toplumla birlikte bireyselden evrensele uzanan çizgide tüm insanlığın ortak sesidir. Yaşadığı toplumun, coğrafyanın, geleneğin kısacası kimliğini kuran değerlerin farkında olan sanatçı, bu değerleri özümseyen ve gelecek nesillere aktaran kişidir. Bu bağlamda çağdaş Türk şiirinde yaşadığı toplumun değerlerine yaslanarak kendine yabancılaşmadan yazan Sezai Karakoç, edebiyat tarihinde haklı bir yer edinmiştir. Şiirlerinde, benliğinin farkında olan ve buradan hareketle kimlik inşasına yönelen Karakoç, şiir evrenini kurarken kendini var eden değerler düzleminden dünyaya açılır. Kendi yaşadıklarıyla tarihsel düzlemde yaşananları odak noktasına alan şair, bunları âdeta “zamanın aynasında” kaynaştırmayı bilir. Kendi tarihiyle toplumunun ve insanlığın tarihini bir araya getiren bu şiir dili içinde “ayna imgesi” de kendine özgü bir yere sahiptir. Karakoç’un şiirlerinde yer alan “ayna” imgesi ile hangi anlamlara, değerlere gönderme yapıldığını belirlemek bu çalışmanın temel amacıdır.

In order to further elucidate the role of mesolimbic peptides in the expression of alcohol reward, the present study investigated the effects of ghrelin and glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) on alcohol intake, in addition to alcohol intake stimulated by systemic d-amphetamine or cocaine treatment. All rats were initially habituated to a 6% alcohol solution. We then demonstrated that intraperitoneal injections of d-amphetamine and cocaine increased alcohol compared to the vehicle condition. In subsequent testing we examined the effects of ventral tegmental area (VTA) ghrelin or vehicle paired with a fixed dose of d-amphetamine or vehicle. In separate rats we then investigated the impact of the GLP-1 agonist exendin-4 (Ex-4), injected into the VTA, on alcohol intake alone, or when Ex-4 was co-administered with d-amphetamine or cocaine. Our results indicated that VTA ghrelin significantly increased alcohol intake, and most importantly, potentiated the effect of d-amphetamine and cocaine on alcohol consumption. Conversely, VTA Ex-4 inhibited alcohol intake and antagonized the stimulatory effect of d-amphetamine and cocaine on alcohol consumption. In a final study we further demonstrated that VTA Ex-4 treatment significantly inhibited the combined stimulatory effects of ghrelin paired with d-amphetamine or ghrelin paired with cocaine. Overall our findings are consistent with a critical role for both ghrelin and GLP-1 receptor mechanisms in mesolimbic alcohol reward circuitry. Moreover, our results further suggest that ghrelin and GLP-1 modulate the stimulatory effect of psychostimulants on alcohol intake.

Cumhuriyet Dönemi Türk edebiyatının öncü yazarlarından olan Refik Halit Karay’ın eserlerinde sürgün ve sürgün edebiyatı önemli bir yer tutar. Hayatının büyük bir bölümünü sürgünlerde geçiren yazar, sürgün dönemi tecrübelerini hikâye ve romanlarında kendi gözlemlerinden hareketle kurgu dünyasına taşır. Sürgün yıllarının ikinci dönemini oluşturan Beyrut, Şam ve Halep günlerindeki gözlemlerini yansıtan Sürgün romanında Orta Doğu coğrafyası insanları ile birlikte gerçekçi bir şekilde sunulur. Sürgün romanı başkişi Hilmi Efendi’nin sürgün olarak gönderildiği Beyrut’taki hayatı ve ardından Şam ve Halep’te yaşadıkları çerçevesinde ilerler.Romanda, Beyrut’un çok kültürlü yapısıyla bir deniz şehri oluşu üzerinde durulur. Şam, Arap ırkının hâkimiyeti altında bir şehir olarak tasvir edilir. Halep ise Türklere daha yakın bir kültürel doku barındıran yapısıyla aktarılır. Romanın başkişisi Hilmi Efendi ve arkadaşı İrfan Bey aracılığıyla okurun dikkatine sunulan bu şehirlerdeki hayat, iklim özellikleri, mimari, insan tipolojisi, gelenekler ve alışkanlıklar gibi kültürü oluşturan etmenler ışığında betimlenirken bir Orta Doğu profili ortaya konur.

Objectives Desaturation leading to hypoxemia may occur during rapid sequence intubation (RSI). Apneic oxygenation (AO) was developed to prevent the occurrence of oxygen desaturation during the apnea period. The purpose of this study was to determine if the application of AO increases the average lowest oxygen saturation during RSI when compared to usual care (UC) in the emergency setting. Methods A randomized controlled trial was conducted at an academic, urban, level 1 trauma center. All patients requiring intubation were included. Exclusion criteria were patients in cardiac or traumatic arrest or if pre-oxygenation was not performed. An observer, blinded to study outcomes and who was not involved in the procedure recorded all times, while all saturations were recorded in real time by monitors on a secured server. Two hundred patients were allocated to receive apneic oxygenation (n=100) or usual care (n=100) by pre-determined randomization in a 1:1 ratio. Results Two-hundred and six patients were enrolled. There was no difference in lowest mean oxygen saturation between the two groups (92, 95% CI 91 to 93 in AO vs. 93, 95% CI 92 to 94 in UC, p=0.11). Conclusion There was no difference in lowest mean oxygen saturation between the two groups. The application of AO during RSI did not prevent desaturation of patients in this study population. Doğanın ve varlığın özünü belirleyen dört unsur (toprak, su, hava, ateş) yani anasır-ı erbaa, hayatın anlamını, özünü ve kimi zamanda karşılığını içeren bir biçimde pek çok felsefi düşüncenin temelini oluşturur. Varlığın kuruculuğunu oluşturan bu dört unsur aslında evrenin de temelini oluşturmaktadır. Bu bağlamda evrenin yaratılışı ve insanın yaratılışı arasında bağ kurmaya çalışan insanoğlu, bu unsurları aynı zamanda kutsal ögeler olarak kabul eder. Kendi varlığı ile doğa arasında ontolojik bir bağ olduğunu da bu vesile ile sezen insan, doğayı özellikle bu dört unsurun dolayımında içselleştirir.Doğa ile insan arasındaki ontolojik bağı duyumsayan ve metin düzlemine aktaran Necip Fazıl Kısakürek, şiirin imgeler ve simgeler düzeni içerisinde anasır-ı erbaa’yı farklı anlam ve çağrışım değerlerinde kullanır. Necip Fazıl’ın şiirlerinde su 57, toprak 32, ateş 24 ve hava 10 kere kullanılır. Genellikle mistik ve metafizik çağrışım değerleriyle kullanılan bu unsurlar, şairin benlik arayışında da anahtar görev üstlenirler.Bu çalışmada Necip Fazıl Kısakürek’in şiirlerinde anasır-ı erbaa unsurları kullanım sıklığı sırasıyla su, toprak, ateş ve hava başlıkları altında irdelenmeye çalışılacaktır.&nbsp, The four elements (earth, water, air, and fire) that determine the essence of nature and existence—in other words, anâsır-ı erbaa—constitute the foundation of most philosophical thoughts in shaping the meaning, essence, and even sometimes the answer to the question of life. These four elements, which are the constituents of existence, are in fact the foundations of the universe. In this regard, humankind, in its search for a connection between the creation of the universe and human, deems these elements to be sacred components. Humankind, intuiting an ontological connection between its own existence and nature, internalizes nature with the mediation of these four elements.Necip Fazıl Kısakürek, who senses the ontological connection between nature and man, conveys this connection through text and uses anâsır-ı erbaa with different weights of meaning and connotation within the harmony of the simulacra and symbols of poetry. Necip Fazıl used the word “water” 57 times, the word “earth” 32 times, the word “fire” 24 times, and the word “air” 10 times in his poems. These elements, which have been used with mystical and metaphysical connotations, play a crucial role in the poet’s search for ego.In this study, the components of anâsır-ı erbaa in Necip Fazıl Kısakürek’s poems will be discussed according to their frequency of occurrence under the headings of “water”, “earth”, “fire”, and “air”.

Bu aktarım aslında bir tür dünyaya tutunma çabasıdır. Bu çaba ise kimlik tanımlamasının sınırları dâhilindedir. İnsan, kendi kimliğini kanıtlamak isterken çevresine ve özellikle de kendinden sonra gelenlere deneyimlerini aktararak bir bilinç oluşturmak ister. Kendi neslinin devamını sağlayacak olan kadınlar ise özellikle bu görevin üstlenicisidir. Bireysel kimliğini toplumsal kimlikte bütünleştiren kadınlar gelecek inşasında etkin rol oynarlar. Gelecek nesillerin milli kimlik kazanımlarını aile temelinde ilk dokunuşlarla sağlayan kadınlar, olumlu ya da olumsuz olarak yeni nesillerin öncüsü konumundadır. Ömer Seyfettin hikâyelerinde milli bilinç ve kimlik inşası kavramları temel izleklerdendir. Toplumun geleceğine yön veren kadınlar, Primo Türk Çocuğu, Fon Sadriştayn’ın Oğlu, Fon Sadriştayn’ın Karısı, Piç, Harem ve Zeytin Ekmek hikâyelerinde hem olumlu hem olumsuz yönleriyle ele alınır. Bir anne olarak kadının çocuğun kimlik inşası sürecindeki etkisi de bu hikâyelerde gözler önüne serilir. Human is a being who inholds the levels of past, present and future. Women, who within the family attempt to make gain national consciousness through the first touches, are both positively and negatively the pioneers of new generation. In ömer Seyfettin’s stories, national consciousness and identity construction are the primary themes. Women, who take turn to the future of society, are both embraced positively and negatively in the stories Primo the Turkish Child, Fon Sadriştayn’s Son, Fon Sadriştayn’s Wife, The Bastard, Harem and Olive, The Bread. These stories touch upon the theme of woman as mother and her affect to the child in the process of identity construction

Every age prepares the conditions necessary for the formation of itsown literary trends. The speed and technology following the modernperiod is associated with consumption. The reflections of thisassociation is realized by the decrease in the number of words andthe conceal of stories in a deeper construct. This genre appears as“short short story” in Western literature, whereas it is named as“küçürek öykü” by Ramazan Korkmaz in Turkish literature. Ferit Edgüappears as one of the representatives of this genre. In addition tohim, authors engaged in short stories have begun to produce works inthis genre.One of the important representatives of the group known as“Maveracılar”, gathered around Mavera journal, Rasim Özdenören isalso an author who produced works close to this genre. He namedthese stories as “storyish”. His main focus in these storyishes is onthose appearing impossible. We report a study of muon neutrino charged-current quasi-elastic events in the segmented scintillator inner tracker of the MINERvA experiment running in the NuMI neutrino beam at Fermilab. The events were selected by requiring a {\mu}^- and low calorimetric recoil energy separated from the interaction vertex. We measure the flux-averaged differential cross-section, d{\sigma}/dQ^2, and study the low energy particle content of the final state. Deviations are found between the measured d{\sigma}/dQ^2 and the expectations of a model of independent nucleons in a relativistic Fermi gas. We also observe an excess of energy near the vertex consistent with multiple protons in the final state., Comment: 7 pages, 5 figures. This study evaluated the possible effects of flaxseed oil on renal damage associated with hyperlipidaemic rats. Wistar albino male rats were divided into three groups. Group I was fed with a pellet chow. Group II was fed with a high cholesterol diet (HCD) consisting of 5% cholesterol and 0.35% cholic acid added to the pellet chow. Group III was fed with the same HCD, but were orally treated with a dose of 15 mg/kg body wt/day flaxseed oil. Flaxseed oil treatment started 1 week before and continued throughout the 22 weeks of the HCD. At the end of the experiment, renal tissue and blood samples were collected. The biochemical and histopathological findings confirmed renal damage in hypercholesterolaemia conditions. Flaxseed oil reduced the hypercholesterolaemia-induced increase in the serum levels of total cholesterol, LDL and urea. Oil red O stain revealed that lowered serum lipid was accompanied by a decreased deposition of neutral lipid. Flaxseed oil effectively reversed these abnormalities, verifying the protective effects of flaxseed oil in ameliorating renal injuries associated with hypercholesterolaemia. Azerbaijani poet Bakhtiyar Vahapzade is aware of this state.Because of this, he has often touched upon language and identity ofthe individual in his poems.In this study, Vahapzade’s verses related to the consciousness oflanguage and identity are dealt with in terms of the system of selfperception values.
