It is said in Bilge Kaghan inscription, one of the Orkhon inscriptions, that “Turkish people give up this habit and regret it! People of the holy Otuken Mountain, you left your fatherland”. This expression used by Bilge Kaghan to remark the importance of staying in Otuken Forest and not leaving there, in a sense, can be as a principal motivator and slogan of the travels for the Turks worldwide in order to visit their homelands to learn about the roots and heritage. Nowadays, the urge for searching the ancestor and the roots, finding and reinforcing the identity and experiencing the old times is an important tourism field. The primary aim of this study is to conceptualize the new notions used in the international literature that arise from new tourism activities such as nostalgia and root tourism in the Turkish language. Besides, contributing to the planning process of the supply and demand conditions that might be developed between Turkey and Central Asia based on the common cultural heritage is another important aim of the study. The research, based on the literature review and secondary data, reveal that root tourism is a significant opportunity for the Turks and Turkey and Central Asia., Orhon yazıtlarından biri olan Bilge Kağan yazıtında “Türk halkı (bu huyundan) vazgeç ve nadim ol! Kutsal Ötüken Dağları Halkı, (sen kendin yerini yurdunu bırakıp) gittin” ifadesi yer almaktadır. Bilge Kağan tarafından Ötüken ormanında kal, oradan ayrılma anlamında kullanılan bu ifade bir anlamda bütün dünyadaki ve özellikle Türkiye’deki Türklerin ata yurtlarını ziyaret etme ve kökleri ile ilgili mirası görme amacıyla yapacakları seyahatlerin temel motivasyonu ve sloganı olabilir. Günümüzde bireylerin, atalarını ve köklerini araştırma, kimliğini bulma, güçlendirme ve geçmiş zamanı yaşama isteği önemli bir turizm alanı haline gelmiştir. Bu çalışmanın öncelikli amacını miras ve nostalji odaklı ortaya çıkan bu yeni turizm faaliyetleriyle ilgili uluslararası alanyazında kullanılan kavramların Türkçe karşılıklarının geliştirilmesidir. Ayrıca, bu kapsamda Türkiye ile Orta Asya arasında ortak kültürel mirasa dayalı olarak geliştirilebilecek turizm arz ve talep koşullarının planlanmasına katkı sunulması çalışmanın bir diğer amacını oluşturmaktadır. Alanyazına ve ikincil verilere dayalı olarak yapılan bu çalışma, miras odaklı gelişen turizm türlerinin Türkler ve Türkiye ve Orta Asya Ülkeleri için önemli bir fırsat olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır.

The destinations that want to succeed in the tourism industry should determine the importance given to the product levels by the markets into which they supply products, the performance perceptions related to the product levels and the difference between each other in terms of each market. ÖZET Bu tez çalışmasında konaklama - ağırlama işletmelerinde çalışan iş görenler için iş tatmini düzeyinin önemini ortaya koymak, iş tatminin ilgili olduğu değişkenleri tespit etmek ve iş tatmini ölçebilecek bir ölçek geliştirmek ve bu ölçekle belli bir denek grubunda ölçme yapıp bulguları ifade etmektir. Tez altı bölümden oluşmaktadır. Birinci bölümde; iş tatmini, tanımsal ve kavramsal açıdan incelenmektedir. İş tatmini ölçülmesinin gerekçeleri ortaya konmakta, araştırma problemini tanımı yapılarak kapsamı belirlenmektedir. İkinci bölümde, iş tatmini ile ilgili değişkenler olarak, performans, iş gücü devri, devamsızlık, yaş, meslek, cinsiyet, akıl sağlığı ile ilişkisi açıklanmaktadır. Üçüncü bölümde, iş tatmini ile ilgili teoriler tarihsel seyri içinde ifade edilmektedir. Bu teoriler, farklı açılardan iş tatmini hakkında yaklaşımlarda bulunmuşlardır. İş tatmini koşullan belirlenirken bu teoriler dikkate alındı. Dördüncü bölümde, dünyada ve Türkiye'de turizm sektörü incelenerek insan faktörü ve iş tatmini ilişkisi ortaya konmuştur. Konaklama sektöründe iş tatmininin önemi ve gereği ifade edilmiştir. Beşinci bölümde, araştırma süreci ifade edilerek araştırmanın kapsamı ve yöntemi açıklanmıştır. Ölçek geliştirme sürecinde, önce pilot çalışmanın yapılma şekli, geçerlilik ve güvenilirlik testleri ve sonuçlan ifade edilmiştir. Sonra asıl çalışmanın yapılış koşullan ve şekli açıklanarak bulgular ortaya konulmuştur. Araştırma ile ilgili hipotezler geliştirilmiştir. Altıncı bölümde, araştırmada elde edilen bulgular yer almaktadır. Burada araştırma grubu analiz edilerek hipotezler test edilmiştir. İş Görenlerin iş tatmin koşullarındaki tutum ifadeleri incelenerek iş tatmin düzeyi ortaya konmuştur. Denek grubu olarak iş görenlerin örgütsel gereksinim sıralaması yaş, cinsiyet, medeni durum, eğitim gibi faktörlere göre yapılmıştır. II ABSTRACT The purpose of this thesis is to emphasise the importence of the level of job satisfaction, and to determine variables concerning the job satisfaction and to develop a measure to decide the matter after consideration and to express the evidence after having experimented on the subjects of experimentation This thesis consists of six chapters; In the first chapter, job satisfaction has been examined from the conceptual and definitive point of wiew. The statement of reasons of measure of the job satisfaction has been expressed, and the research problem its extension ( scope) having been defined, has been determined. In the second chapter, the variables concerning the job satisfaction, performance, the transfer of man power, absenteeism, age, vocation, sex and mental health have been explained. In the third chapter, theories concerning the job satisfaction in the sequence of historical observations have been explained. These theories concerning job satisfaction, are approached from different aspects. When job satisfaction conditions were being determined these theories have been taken into consideration. In the fourth chapter, the tourism industry both in Turkey and in the world being examined, the man power factor and job satisfaction have been brought up (exposed). The importonce and necessity of job satisfaction in accommodation industry has been stated. In the fifth chapter, the process of research being expressed the scope (extension) and method of the research have been explained. In the process of measure development, first of all of the sort of research the validity and reliability of tests and results have been expressed. The hypotheses concerning the research have been developed. In the six part the results which have been discovered (submitted) take place. Here in this thesis, by analyising the research (section), hypotesis have been tested. Conducting a poll on the laborers and examining their statements about their working conditions, the level of their job satisfaction has been brought about. Bearing in mind necessity for an organised union, age, sex, their marital status, schooling this poll has been conducted according to educational factors on the subjects of the experiment. ill 164
