Soft denture liners evenly distribute functional loads over denture-bearing tissues. The liners aid in more evenly distributing the pressures of mastication to the underlying tissues by absorbing some of the masticatory forces. The study aimed to evaluate the brushing simulation influence on the surface roughness property of soft-tissue liners. A total of eight samples of Avue brand soft-tissue liners with the composition of varnish base and varnish catalyst were suspended into a standard template extracted and numbered sequentially and surface roughness was calculated using a stylus profilometer. A total of 30,000 cycles brushing were done, where the first group samples were brushed with Colgate toothpaste and the second group brushed with Dabur Red toothpaste using a toothbrush simulator (ZM3.8 SD Mechatronik). The data of both pre- and postbrushing values were recorded manually and statistically uploaded on SPSS software version 22 and values were represented in clustered bar graph forms. The significance value of Ra was 0.321. The significance value of Rq was 0.211. The significance value of Rz was 0.354, hence statistically, insignificant. Notwithstanding sedentary life there has been an additional effect of online networking on human conduct and society. The aim of the study is to measure the impact of social networking on mental well-being of users, users' social behaviour and multifarious threats on the user population.A cross sectional questionnaire survey was conducted. A total of 102 responses were tabulated and analyzed using statistical analysis.In the study, it was found that 58% of the population are active on multiple social networking sites and 46% of the population visited social networking sites with no goal. This study was conducted to acknowledge the different ways our human emotion is affected through social media and different social networking sites. The rapid increase in the burden of chronic diseases is particularly prevalent in the developing countries. Periodontal disease is one of the most important oral diseases contributing to the global burden of chronic disease. In addition to social determinants, dental health is modified by several factors like tobacco use, excessive alcohol consumption, poor diet and nutrition, obesity, psychological stress and insufficient personal oral hygiene. The aim of this study was to explore perceptions of dental health among the Chennai public.The questionnaire was circulated through social media like whatsapp and they are asked to fill the survey. A survey was conducted and circulated among the Chennai population through google forms with 20 questions. It is a common notion that educated strata of society are more aware about the general health and diseases including oral, but very minimal data are present in literature to substantiate this view. Therefore, this study is designed with the aim of attaining information about the level of awareness of periodontal health and disease. Introduction: A fear is a sort of nervousness issue characterized by an industrious and exorbitant dread of an article or circumstance. The influenced individual may encounter a wide range of side effects. Fear can be partitioned into explicit fears such as social fear and agoraphobia. To understand a person’s fear to a particular object or situation and the consequences faced in daily life due to their phobia. It is a type of anxiety disorder, defined by a persistent and excessive fear of an object or situation. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional survey-based study was conducted among 50 South Indian population. A questionnaire was prepared about main reason and cause behind the phobia. This will be distributed through SurveyPlanet. The data were collected and analyzed with statistics. Results: From the result, it can be statistically analyzed that most of the people aged between 18 and 25 have the fear toward insects and most have no fear. From the statistics, the phobia affects their daily life by not wanting to face fear, so they keep away even from familiar places. The best treatment for phobia is that of confronting the fear to family and friends. Conclusions: We can conclude that phobia is an anxiety disorder that is experienced by every individual to any particular thing. Aim: The aim of the study was to analysis of morphometric and morphology parameters of foramen magnum. Objective: The study was conducted on completely ossified adults 92 dry skulls. Materials and Methods: The study was conducted on 50 South Indian skulls (25 females and 25 males). The skulls were free from fracture or other deformities. Morphometric analysis on the occipital bones was conducted with Vernier calipers graduated to the last 0.01 mm. Discussion: The area of the foramen magnum was calculated using the formula derived by Radinsky's and Teixeria, and hence, mean and standard deviation was calculated. Radinsky's formula: A=1/4× p×w×h. Teixeria's formula: A=p×[{(h+w)}/4]sq. Conclusion: The length, breadth, and area of foramen magnum are found to be higher in males than female. Somatic missense mutations in histone genes turn these essential proteins into oncohistones, which can drive oncogenesis. Understanding how missense mutations alter histone function is challenging in mammals as mutations occur in a single histone gene. For example, described oncohistone mutations predominantly occur in the histone H3.3 gene, despite the human genome encoding 15 H3 genes. To understand how oncogenic histone missense mutations alter histone function, we leveraged the budding yeast model, which contains only 2 H3 genes, to explore the functional consequences of oncohistones H3K36M, H3G34W, H3G34L, H3G34R, and H3G34V. Analysis of cells that express each of these variants as the sole copy of H3 reveals that H3K36 mutants show different drug sensitivities compared to H3G34 mutants. This finding suggests that changes to proximal amino acids in the H3 N-terminal tail alter distinct biological pathways. We exploited the caffeine-sensitive growth of H3K36-mutant cells to perform a high copy suppressor screen. This screen identified genes linked to histone function and transcriptional regulation, including Esa1, a histone H4/H2A acetyltransferase; Tos4, a forkhead-associated domain-containing gene expression regulator; Pho92, an N6-methyladenosine RNA-binding protein; and Sgv1/Bur1, a cyclin-dependent kinase. We show that the Esa1 lysine acetyltransferase activity is critical for suppression of the caffeine-sensitive growth of H3K36R-mutant cells while the previously characterized binding interactions of Tos4 and Pho92 are not required for suppression. This screen identifies pathways that could be altered by oncohistone mutations and highlights the value of yeast genetics to identify pathways altered by such mutations., (© The Author(s) 2022. Objectives: Appropriate lipid management has been demonstrated to reduce cardiovascular events, but rates of hyperlipidemia screening and statin therapy are suboptimal. We aimed to evaluate patient and physician predictors of guideline-concordant hyperlipidemia screening and statin prescription., Study Design: Retrospective study of patients with primary care provider (PCP) visits from 2014 to 2016 at the University of Pennsylvania Health System., Methods: Data on patients, screening orders, and prescriptions were obtained from the electronic health record. Multivariate logistic regression models were fit to binary outcomes of lipid screening and statin prescription., Results: Among 97,189 eligible patients, 79.9% had an order for hyperlipidemia screening. In adjusted models, significant patient predictors of greater odds of having screening ordered included a history of diabetes (odds ratio [OR], 1.19; 95% CI, 1.10-1.29; P <.001) or hypertension (OR, 1.16; 95% CI, 1.10-1.23; P <.001). Significant provider predictors of lower odds of having screening ordered were being a resident PCP (OR, 0.63; 95% CI, 0.43-0.93; P = .021) or being trained in family medicine (OR, 0.37; 95% CI, 0.30-0.47; P <.001). Among 40,845 eligible patients, 56.1% were prescribed a statin. In adjusted models, significant patient predictors of greater odds of being prescribed a statin were if they had a history of diabetes (OR, 2.70; 95% CI, 2.32-3.13; P <.001) or clinical cardiovascular disease (OR, 2.26; 95% CI, 1.85-2.76; P <.001). Significant provider predictors of lower odds of being prescribed a statin were being a physician assistant (OR, 0.65; 95% CI, 0.52-0.81; P <.001) or female (OR, 0.82; 95% CI, 0.70-0.96; P = .01)., Conclusions: Both patient and provider factors significantly predicted guideline-concordant care for hyperlipidemia screening and statin therapy.
