Abstract

We present the study of the decay $J/\psi \rightarrow \rho\pi$. The results are based on of 5.2~million $J/\psi$ events collected by the KEDR detector at the VEPP-4M collider. The branching fractions are measured to be $\B(J/\psi \rightarrow \rho\pi) = \big(2.072\pm 0.017 \pm 0.062 \big)\cdot 10^{-2}$ and $\B(J/\psi \rightarrow \pi^+\pi^-\pi^0) = \big(1.878 \pm 0.013 \pm 0.051 \big)\cdot 10^{-2}$, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. Our results are more precise than the previous relative measurements.

Abstract

The present work continues a series of the KEDR measurements of the $R$ value that started in 2010 at the VEPP-4M $e^+e^-$ collider. By combining new data with our previous results in this energy range we measured the values of $R_{\text{uds}}$ and $R$ at nine center-of-mass energies between 3.08 and 3.72 GeV. The total accuracy is about or better than $2.6\%$ at most of energy points with a systematic uncertainty of about $1.9\%$. Together with the previous precise $R$ measurement at KEDR in the energy range 1.84-3.05 GeV, it constitutes the most detailed high-precision $R$ measurement near the charmonium production threshold., Comment: arXiv admin note: text overlap with arXiv:1610.02827 and substantial text overlap with arXiv:1510.02667

Abstract

The tagging system of the KEDR detector is a symmetrical focusing magnetic spectrometer for electrons and positrons scattered at small angles; it is embedded into the lattice of the VEPP-4M collider and intended for two-photon processes study. It measures scattered electron energy with resolution $\Delta E/E_0=0.03\%...0.6\%$ ($E_0$ is the beam energy). For precise energy scale calibration two methods are used: tagging of bremsstrahlung electron/positron by the photon energy measured by BGO calorimeter, and direct calibration using Compton backscattering spectrum edge. Abstract

A method for circular e$^-$/e$^+$ accelerator beam energy measurement is proposed. Coordinate of an electron (or a positron) in a focusing magnetic spectrometer built in a circular accelerator depends on its energy, two spectrometer parameters, and the circulating beam energy. The spectrometer parameters can be defined using minimum electron energies from Compton backscattering with two laser wavelengths, and an additional photon coordinate detector. The photon detector is calibrated at once at well-known beam energy. The VEPP-4M collider has appropriate equipment for the method implementation: built-in focusing magnetic spectrometer, Compton calibration system with two lasers and a photon coordinate detector. Thus, the proposed technique could be implemented with minimum efforts; tests and further upgrade are planned. Abstract

The ratio of the elastic $e^+ p$ to $e^- p$ scattering cross sections has been measured precisely, allowing the determination of the two-photon exchange contribution to these processes. This neglected contribution is believed to be the cause of the discrepancy between the Rosenbluth and polarization transfer methods of measuring the proton electromagnetic form factors. The experiment was performed at the VEPP-3 storage ring at beam energies of 1.6 and 1.0 GeV and at lepton scattering angles between $15^\circ$ and $105^\circ$. Abstract

KEDR detector has the tagging system (TS) to study the gamma-gamma processes. To determine the two-photon invariant mass, the energies of the scattered at small angles electrons and positrons are measured by the magnetic spectrometer embedded into the lattice of the VEPP--4M collider. The energy resolution (scattered electron/positron energy resolution divided by the beam energy) of this spectrometer varies from 0.6% to 0.03% depending on the electron/positron energy. The Compton backscattering of laser radiation on the electron/positron beam is used for the accurate energy scale and resolution calibration of the tagging system. Abstract

A precise comparison of the cross sections for the elastic scattering of electrons and positrons on protons was performed recently at the VEPP-3 storage ring in Novosibirsk, Russia. To provide the proposed accuracy, the energies of the electron and positron beams used during the experiment needed to be carefully maintained. This paper describes a special beam energy measurement system used in this experiment. This system is based on measuring the maximum energy of laser photons backscattered from electron and positron beams. Abstract

Considering the importance of perinatal health care, it is necessary to carry out constant monitoring and analysis of the effectiveness of this direction both at the state level and in the section of individual regions The objective: to assess the effectiveness of perinatal care during the COVID-19 pandemic at the regional level (Ivano-Frankivsk region). Materials and methods. A comparative analysis of the indicators of the effectiveness of perinatal care at the state and regional level (Ivano-Frankivsk region) for 2017-2021 was carried out, which in particular includes 2 years of the COVID-19 pandemic and previous years for the analysis of dynamic trends using statistical data of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. Results. Despite the fact that perinatal care in Ivano-Frankivsk region for 2017-2021 is at a fairly high level compared to the average indicators in Ukraine, there are certain shortcomings and corresponding reserves for improving its effectiveness. The deterioration of some indicators during the years of the COVID-19 pandemic (2020-2021) in comparison with the last years before the pandemic (2017-2019) was noted: a sharp decrease in the birth rate in 2021 (by 9.76%); in 2020 - an increase in the proportional indicator (per 1,000 births) of early neonatal mortality (from 2.85 to 3.62 of the actual indicator and from 6.47 to 7.82 in real terms), in 2021 - an increase in the proportional indicator of perinatal mortality at weighing less than 1500 g (3 2.27 to 3.44 per 1000 live births), in 2021 a sharp increase in maternal mortality (from 23.98 to 37.4 per 100,000 live births). Conclusions. The obtained indicators reflect both the direct impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the health of the woman, the fetus and the newborn, as well as the increased load on the perinatal care system and the lack of readiness for crisis challenges. It is necessary to develop a complex of improving the efficiency of perinatal care at all stages (antenatal, intranatal and neonatal) and strengthening the stability of the system in possible crisis situations. Abstract

It is important to determine mothers’ perceptions of health care services during the pandemic to ensure equity in the provision of such services in the future. The objective: to determine the determinants of pregnant women’s perception of perinatal care services during the COVID-19 pandemic. Materials and methods. An original sociological study was conducted to assess the state of perinatal care during the COVID-19 pandemic using a questionnaire. 110 questionnaires were included in the analysis. Group 1 included 45 female respondents were sick with COVID-19 during pregnancy, group 2 – 65 women were not sick with COVID-19 during pregnancy. All questionnaires were analysed both in the general sample and in the section of COVID-19 during pregnancy. Results. Certain shortcomings in the provision of perinatal care during the COVID-19 pandemic at the ambulatory level were identified. Insufficient vaccination coverage of pregnant women (65.5% of respondents were vaccinated during pregnancy). 87.3% of patients considered insufficient information about vaccination of pregnant women. A negative attitude towards vaccination during pregnancy was expressed by 30.0% of respondents. 65.4% of respondents considered insufficient availability of perinatal care in the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic. Remote counseling was received by less than half of patients (41.8%), and mainly those who were sick with COVID-19 (62.2%). A negative attitude towards remote counseling was expressed by 49.1% of women. More than half (56.4%) of the respondents considered the provided information about COVID-19, treatment and prevention to be insufficient. Only 9.1% of patients received full psychological support. Half of the patients were not satisfied with the qualifications of the medical staff, and 59.1% were not satisfied with the staff’s attitude. More than half (55.4%) of patients were not satisfied with the care provided at the outpatient stage in general, especially those who did not suffer from COVID-19, which may be due to a shift in the focus of attention on infected pregnant women. Conclusions. The following positions can be recommended to improve perinatal care: expansion of information provision of the population, in particular with the involvement of mass media; conducting explanatory work with patients on prevention, vaccination, treatment, possible complications during pregnancy; provision of remote counseling in possible cases; psychological support of the pregnant woman and her family at all stages of perinatal care. Abstract

The article presents an analysis of literature data and the results of our own retrospective studies of the characteristics of the menstrual cycle in female combatants who have undergone concussion. Clinical and anamnestic factors have been identified that negatively affect the menstrual function of women of reproductive age, who received contusions during hostilities. The relationship between the state of mental health of women and menstrual irregularities has been established. Aim: to identify and evaluate changes in the menstrual function of women - veterans of reproductive age. Also, to establish the relationship between menstrual irregularities in women - veterans of reproductive age who have undergone contusion, and the state of their somatic and mental health.Materials and method: The research was conducted at the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductology of the National University of Health of Ukraine named after P.L. Shupika. To achieve this goal, a comprehensive clinical and laboratory examination was performed in 567 women of reproductive age (main group and comparison group) who participated in hostilities and suffered contusions, the average age of the subjects was 27.08 ± 4.23 years.The period of stay in the combat zone is 29.34 ± 9.21 months, the time from the moment of receiving a mild traumatic brain injury (contusion) is 18.8 ± 9.2 months. Group I - 399 fertile women who suffered contusions during the fighting with PKS. Group II - 168 women of childbearing age who suffered contusions during hostilities without PKS (mean age 32.21 ± 7.32 years).Results: The results of the studies revealed statistically significant deviations in the characteristics of the menstrual cycle of women who participated in hostilities who were injured with PKS, compared with women without PKS. It has been proven that women-viskovosluzhvits more often develop menstrual irregularities, namely a decrease or increase in the number, lengthening or shortening of the menstrual cycle by 7 days. Taking into account the revealed menstrual irregularities in the women under study, it can be argued that the detected changes are due to the influence of both craniocerebral trauma and stress factors associated with military service. This justifies the need to develop a program for monitoring and supporting the reproductive health of women-viyskovoservices, as well as medical and psychological rehabilitation of veterans, aimed at their full adaptation to a peaceful life.

Abstract

Experiments on high precision mass measurement of particles require precise beam energy calibration. The most accurate method of beam energy measurement is the resonant depolarization technique. This article describes the beam energy measurement at the VEPP-4M storage ring using this method together with a Touschek polarimeter. The accuracy achieved is about 10−6. Abstract

The report describes a method for a fast and precise beam energy measurement in the beam energy range 0.5-2 GeV and its application at various e+e- colliders. Low-energy laser photons interact head-on with the electron or positron beam and produce Compton backscattered photons whose energy is precisely measured by HPGe detector. The method allows measuring the beam energy with relative accuracy of ∼2-5.10-5.
