Background: The accessory breast tissue is found in 6%. It is seen commonly in the axilla. It is asymptomatic or causes pain, restricts arm movement, causes cosmetic problems, or causes anxiety. We evaluated symptoms, signs, investigations, treatment, and postoperative complications of women with accessory breast tissue. Methods: Our cross-sectional study was conducted in the Surgery OPD, Nagpur, on 52 women who presented with accessory breast tissue in the period from January 2019 to October 2023. Results: In this study, of 52 patients, the majority, that is, 38 (73.07%) patients, presented with uneasiness due to the position of mass followed by 25 (48.07%) with swelling in the axilla. Twelve (23.07%) patients presented with pain in mass in premenstrual and menstrual periods, and seven (13.46%) patients with accessory nipples. Fifty (96.15%) patients had axillary swelling. One (1.92%) patient each had swelling in groin and thigh. Thirty-six (69.2%) patients had sonography findings consistent with breast-like tissue. In nine (17.30%) patients, findings suggested lipoma. Surgical excision was conducted in 52 (100%) patients. In 43 (82.69%) patients, histopathology was consistent with simple breast tissue. In six (11.53%) patients, it was fibroadenoma, and in three (6.76%) patients, histopathology was suggestive of carcinoma. Twenty-eight (53.84%) patients had no complications. Thirteen (25%) patients had an allergy to sticking, six (11.53%) patients had uneven scar, and four (7.69%) patients had hypertrophy of scar. Conclusion: In our study, in the majority of patients, the site of accessory breast tissue was axilla. It caused uneasiness. Surgical excision was conducted in all patients. Postoperative complications were the least.

ObjectiveThis study aimed to explore and evaluate the efficacy of non-invasive brain stimulation (NIBS) as a standalone or coupled intervention and understand its mechanisms to produce positive alterations in neuroplasticity and behavioral outcomes after acquired brain injury (ABI).Data sourcesCochrane Library, Web of Science, PubMed, and Google Scholar databases were searched from January 2013 to January 2024.Study selectionUsing the PICO framework, transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) randomized controlled trials (RCTs), retrospective, pilot, open-label, and observational large group and single-participant case studies were included. Two authors reviewed articles according to pre-established inclusion criteria.Data extractionData related to participant and intervention characteristics, mechanisms of change, methods, and outcomes were extracted by two authors. The two authors performed quality assessments using SORT.ResultsTwenty-two studies involving 657 participants diagnosed with ABIs were included. Two studies reported that NIBS was ineffective in producing positive alterations or behavioral outcomes. Twenty studies reported at least one, or a combination of, positively altered neuroplasticity and improved neuropsychological, neuropsychiatric, motor, or somatic symptoms. Twenty-eight current articles between 2020 and 2024 have been studied to elucidate potential mechanisms of change related to NIBS and other mediating or confounding variables.DiscussiontDCS and TMS may be efficacious as standalone interventions or coupled with neurorehabilitation therapies to positively alter maladaptive brain physiology and improve behavioral symptomology resulting from ABI. Based on postintervention and follow-up results, evidence suggests NIBS may offer a direct or mediatory contribution to improving behavioral outcomes post-ABI.ConclusionMore research is needed to better understand the extent of rTMS and tDCS application in affecting changes in symptoms after ABI.

The advancement of emerging technologies is fundamentally reshaping the landscape of brain tumor diagnosis and treatment planning, with a notable emphasis on precise segmentation techniques to enable early intervention. Traditional manual segmentation methods encounter substantial challenges stemming from inherent noise and intensity variations in medical imaging data. Consequently, there has been a paradigm shift towards leveraging deep learning methodologies, particularly UNet++, to address these issues. The proposed methodology integrates EfficientNetB7 as the encoder component of the UNet++ architecture. This integration harnesses the power of transfer learning, specifically leveraging pre-trained weights from the AdvProp dataset, to facilitate knowledge transfer for improved performance in segmentation tasks. UNet++’s decoder module facilitates multi-scale feature fusion and enhances mask refinement through the incorporation of skip connections. The segmentation head of the architecture generates pixel-wise masks corresponding to different segmentation classes. In our experimental setup, we utilize the Kaggle lower-grade gliomas (LGG) dataset comprising 110 patient datasets for both training and evaluation purposes. The model demonstrates remarkable performance enhancements, achieving a Dice coefficient of 0.9387 and a mean Intersection over Union (IoU) of 0.9123, outperforming previous methodologies. Particularly noteworthy is the model’s ability to accurately delineate tumor boundaries and identify tumor regions, underscoring its potential for enhancing clinical decision-making and ultimately improving patient outcomes.

A sub-mitral left ventricular aneurysm is a rare condition. It is a congenital outpouching of the left ventricular wall, invariably occurring adjacent to the posterior mitral leaflet. Sub-mitral aneurysm (SMA) has usually been reported as a consequence of myocardial ischemia (MI), rheumatic heart disease, tuberculosis, and infective endocarditis. Nevertheless, there have been few case reports of congenital SMA in India. It usually presents with symptoms of heart failure. We report a rare case of congenital SMA in a 27-year-old young Indian and its successful management through a trans-aneurysmal approach.

Abstract Indoor air quality (IAQ) describes the air quality within buildings and other structures, particularly concerning how it affects the health and comfort of building inhabitants. Your likelihood of experiencing indoor health issues can be decreased by being aware of and controlling common indoor contaminants. In addition to maintaining indoor relative humidity at or below 65%, The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) recommends temperatures between 21 and 26 °C in the summer and 20–24 °C in the winter. The EPA advises using humidity levels between 30 and 60% to stop mold from growing. Silica gel, lithium chloride, and molecular sieves 5A are excellent for dehumidification due to their strong moisture adsorption capability and potential for regeneration. Choosing the right desiccant depends on factors like adsorption capacity, pore size, and chemical compatibility, which are crucial for dehumidification applications and environments. This study compares the performance of silica gel desiccant wheels with three additional composite materials for air dehumidification, which is unusual in this work because very few studies of these combinations have been provided. For all desiccant wheels, the various operating parameters of the needed dehumidification process have been investigated and compared. For adsorption and regeneration rate, the performance of three different composite desiccant wheels was examined and compared experimentally. This experimental evaluation reveals that the composite desiccant wheel (silica gel-lithium chloride-molecular sieve 5A) has a higher adsorption and regeneration rate than others. When a composite desiccant wheel made from silica gel-lithium chloride, silica gel-molecular sieve 5A, and silica gel-lithium chloride-molecular sieve 5A was compared to the performance of a silica gel desiccant wheel, the percentage improvements in adsorption rate were 34.99%, 43.58%, and 85.5%, and the percentage increases in regeneration rate were 5.65%, 7.08%, and 14%.

This study explores Indian library and information science (LIS) professionals’ perspectives on the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in academic libraries in India. It aims to evaluate their comprehension of AI, determine their perspectives, investigate AI utilization, assess advantages, identify influencing factors, and examine attitudes towards AI adoption. A quantitative research approach was employed, utilizing a structured questionnaire designed based on study objectives and reviewed by subject matter experts. Purposive sampling targeted individuals with relevant LIS knowledge. Data were collected through Google Forms from 259 respondents and analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Respondents generally exhibited positive perceptions towards AI integration in libraries. High mean scores were observed for statements such as “AI can bridge librarian performance gaps” and “AI does not make library staff lazy.” Librarians expressed willingness to learn about AI, interest in its ethical implications, and confidence in its potential to improve library services. The study highlights a cautious optimism towards AI adoption in Indian academic libraries, with recognition of its potential benefits tempered by concerns about employment and resource allocation. Librarians demonstrate proactive attitudes towards engaging with AI technology and understanding its implications for library services, indicating a readiness to embrace AI within the profession.

An efficient molybdenum‑niobium-oxide nanomaterial was synthesized by a one-pot hydrothermal method for selective C-O (glycerol ketalization) and C-N coupling (benzylamine oxidation) reactions. The catalytically favourable properties, such as defective metal sites, truncated surfaces, and uniform metal dispersion in the MoO3-Nb2O5 nanorods, calcined at 500 °C (MoNb OPS-5), were confirmed by Raman, HR-TEM, and STEM-EDX, respectively. Because of improved Lewis/Brønsted acidic strength, the MoNb OPS-5 catalyst showed higher activity in glycerol ketalization and benzylamine oxidation at mild conditions, giving superior selectivity to solketal (97%) and dibenzylimine (99%), respectively. The MoNb OPS-5 catalyst showed high structural stability and considerable good reusability efficacy.

Biosensors are essential for transforming biological signals into electrical ones and have a wide range of uses in the biomedical, agricultural, and environmental fields. A biosensor is a device that combines biological and physicochemical elements to detect changes in physiological or biochemical states. This paper provides a comprehensive overview of the development and application of enzymatic and immunological biosensors, emphasizing their significant role in environmental, agricultural, and biomedical sectors. By leveraging the unique properties of natural polysaccharides, particularly cellulose, for their construction, these biosensors offer enhanced biocompatibility, robust mechanical strength, and costeffectiveness. This study discusses the principles underlying biosensors, including their biological recognition elements, transduction mechanisms, and output systems. Enzymatic biosensors, characterized by their use of enzymes as bio receptors, and immunological biosensors, utilizing antibodies or antigens for the detection of immunocomplex formation, are evaluated in detail. Through comparative analysis, the paper highlights the diverse functionalities, sensitivities, and applications of these biosensors, ranging from glucose and hydrogen peroxide detection to monitoring of protein markers and E. coli bacteria. The study underscores the biosensors’ ability for facilitating rapid, incredibly sensitive, and specific detection capabilities, critical for advancing scientific diagnostics, environmental surveillance, and food protection.

The current study analyses how to boost the coefficient of performance (COP) of a vapour compression refrigeration system by introducing phase change material (PCM) and thermoelectric generator (TEG) into the system. The subcooled refrigerant was achieved by extracting heat through PCM in a separate PCM chamber positioned between the condenser and expansion valve. The heat stored in the PCM was provided to the TEG's hot side, while the cold side was served by an aluminium vessel carrying the condensed water yield accumulated from the evaporator coils. Electric power was generated due to the temperature difference on both sides of the TEG. Overall, the employment of PCM and TEG in a vapour compression refrigeration system boosted the cooling effect and COP while reduced the net amount of work required. The percent reduction in net-work required and the percent improvement in refrigeration system COP were 4% and 7%, respectively.

Abstract The performance of heat transfer enhancement (HTE) using modified inserts (MIs) as a vortex generator in pipe flow and fluid flow analysis using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) are evaluated in this article. The MIs are fastened to the central rod, and the circular sections of the MIs touched the circular wall of the test pipe. Heat transfer and fluid flow analyses are carried out for the various pitch to diameter ratios (P/D) and angles of the MIs. P/D ratios of 3, 4 and 6 and MIs angles of 15°, 30°, 45°, 60° and 90° are considered for experimental analysis. CFD analysis is carried out for P/D ratios of 3, 4 and 6 and MIs angles of 30°, 45° and 90°. Nusselt number (Nu/Nus) and friction factor (f/fs) ratios are evaluated using the same Reynolds number between 8000 and 17,000 in the experimental study. The MIs encourage the wall and core fluid to be combined thus helps in HTE. It is found that, as the P/D ratio increases, the Nu/Nus and f/fs decrease. If the distance between the MIs increases, the mixing of fluid weakens. With decreasing the P/D ratio, Nu/Nus increases. Increased fluid mixing leads to a higher coefficient of heat transfer and higher values of pressure drop. A P/D ratio of 4 and MIs angle of 45° results in greater heat interaction than others. Finally, recommendations for the best P/D ratio and angles of MIs are made for improved HTE on fluid flow through a circular pipe. Article Highlights Modified inserts (MIs) are used inside the test pipe to check the heat transfer enhancement at various angles. Also, compared the performance with and without MIs. Fluid flow analysis is checked by CFD (Fluent) in Ansys software. Fluid flow patterns for various MIs angles and P/D ratios are compared.

This study reported a vital role of CeO2 shape on the structure-activity properties of MoOx/CeO2 catalysts for cyclohexene epoxidation. Uniform dispersion of MoOx on the surface of shape-controlled CeO2 nanocubes (average particle size: 23.5 nm) and nanorods (average width: 6.3 nm and length: 15–95 nm) was found in MoOx/CeO2 nanomaterials. The MoOx/CeO2 nanocubes showed higher epoxide selectivity (97.3%) with 98.9% cyclohexene conversion, although it has lower BET surface area (30.2 m2/g) compared with MoOx/CeO2 nanorods (72.8 m2/g). The presence of more electropositive Mo6+ species and the strong Mo-Ce interaction led to improved catalytic efficacy of MoOx/CeO2 nanocubes in cyclohexene epoxidation.

In the recent years, a lot of research has been carried out in the field of nanofluid based solar collector, leading towards the enhancement of working efficiency even at low atmospheric temperature or at low sunlight levels regions of the world. The present review pertains to the research progress related to the performance execution of solar collector using nanofluid. It is observed that the thermal energy storage system (TES), using solar collector, is a useful device for storing sensible and latent heat in a unit volume. Nanofluid plays an important role in various thermal applications such as heat exchanger, solar power generation, automotive industries, electronic cooling system, etc. The nanoparticles find the use in various industrial applications because of its properties, such as thermal, mechanical, optical and electrical. Most of the investigations carried out earlier on the applications of nanofluid in solar energy are related to their uses in the solar collector and thermal storage system. The parabolic solar collector using nanofluid is still a challenge. This article presents an exhaustive review of thermal storage system using nanofluid based solar collector and a scope of using nanofluid based solar collector for performance enhancement.

Cauda equina syndrome (CES) is a rare but devastating complication, which warrants an urgent or emergency decompressive surgery. To diagnose it early and also, a timely intervention can halt neurological sequelae. More common causes for CES include chronic disc diseases, spinal injury, and fractures. However, there are less common causes such as spinal manipulation, tuberculosis, and spinal tumors. Here, we report a rare cause of CES precipitated by extreme manipulation of the spine during total hip replacement surgery done under neuraxial blockade. This condition was diagnosed by the acute pain service team at an early stage and successfully treated with emergency decompressive surgery to avert any further neurological complications.

A new method of transgenic development called “In-planta” transformation method, where Agrobacterium is used to infect the plantlets but the steps of in vitro regeneration of plants is totally avoided. In this study, we have reported a simple In-planta method for efficient transformation of diploid cotton Gossypium hirsutum cv LRK-516 Anjali using Agrobacterium tumefaciens EHA-105 harbouring recombinant binary vector plasmid pBinAR with Arabidopsis At-NPR1 gene. Four day old plantlets were used for transformation. A vertical cut was made at the junction of cotyledonary leaves, moderately bisecting the shoot tip and exposing meristem cells at apical meristem. This site was infected with Agrobacterium inoculum. The transgenic events obtained were tested positive for the presence of At-NPR1 gene with promoter nptII gene. They are also tested negative for vector backbone integration and Agrobacterium contamination in T0 events. With this method a transformation frequency of 6.89% was reported for the cv LRK-516.

Current research focuses on examining how much, why and how LIS Professionals use Facebook, one of the most popular social networking site, and understanding its impact on education and social interaction. The aim of this study is to examine the purposes of Facebook use in Library and Information Science (LIS) Professionals sample and explore time investment of the professionals to Facebook social network site. And the study was focus on to explore social networking site (SNS), Facebook to work as an effective tool for imparting information or knowledge and prove helpful in making awareness among LIS Professionals of Maharashtra Librarians Online Study Circle (MLOSC) Group, as most important aspect of Facebook as its emphasis on online collaboration and sharing because it has social networking, user centric characteristics. Data was collected by means of a questionnaire that was circulated among the LIS Professionals of MLOSC Group randomly. Present article reports the survey of social networking site, Facebook in making awareness among LIS Professionals. Analysis will help the LIS professionals in deriving the benefits of SNS, Facebook.

Esta pesquisa investiga como, porque e quanto os profissionais da Ciência da Informação utilizam o Facebook, um dos sites de redes sociais mais populares, bem como verifica o impacto na educação e na interação social. O objetivo deste estudo é examinar os propósitos do uso do Facebook por profissionais da Ciência da Informação. O estudo explora o site de rede social Facebook, de modo a trabalhá-lo como uma ferramenta eficaz para disseminar informação e conhecimento, bem como conscientizar os profissionais da informação que participam do Maharashtra Librarians Online Study Circle [Círculo de Estudo Online de Bibliotecários de Maharashtra] (MLOSC) quanto ao aspecto mais importante do Facebook, qual seja, o de colaboração e compartilhamento online, uma vez que é composto por uma rede social, cujas características centralizam usuários com interesses comuns. Os dados foram coletados por meio de um questionário distribuído aleatoriamente entre os profissionais do Grupo MLOSC. Este artigo relata a pesquisa realizada no Facebook, visando criar uma consciência entre os profissionais da Ciência da Informação em relação ao seu uso, de forma a usufruir os benefícios da rede social do Facebook.
