33. Performance Improvement for Reconfigurable Processor System Design in IoT Health Care Monitoring Applications

Abstract

This research focuses on critical hardware components of an Internet of Things (IoT) system for reconfigurable processing systems. Single-Instruction Multiple-Data (SIMD) processors have recently been utilized to preprocess data at energy-constrained sensor nodes or IoT gateways, saving significant energy and bandwidth for transmission. Using traditional CPU-based systems to implement machine learning algorithms is inefficient in terms of energy consumption. In the proposed method Single-Instruction Multiple-Data (SIMD) processors are assembled by scaling the largest possible operand value subunits into direct access to the internal memory, where the carry output of each unit is conditionally fed into the next unit based on the implementation of the SIMD Processor design for Internet of Things applications. Each method has evaluated sub-operations that contribute considerably to the overall potential of the design. If the single register file can complete the intended action, a zero (one)-signal is applied to each unit's carry input. Multiplexers combine two or more adders, sending the carry signal from one unit into another if additional units are necessary to compute the sum. The outcome results compare high-speed end device techniques in terms of area and power consumption. The proposed SIMD processor-based IoT healthcare monitoring system with a MIMD processor's performance analysis of comparison clearly demonstrates that the system produces decent outcomes. The suggested system has an area overhead of 85 m2, a power usage of 4.10 W, and a time delay of 20 ns.

46. A neutrosophic approach to the transportation problem using single-valued trapezoidal neutrosophic numbers

Abstract

In general, a fuzzy set can’t handle situations of inconsistencies and inexact data, however, the Neutrosophic Set (NS) has been used to address such types of issues in all real world problems. The neutrosophic set is an extension of the fuzzy set and the intuitionistic fuzzy set, that can deal with imperfect, inconsistent, and indeterminate data in all the related problems. This article proposed a conventional neutrosophic approach using a ranking function for the transportation problem. This approach has considered a single-valued neutrosophic set for the entire transportation problem with the numerical illustration. Single valued trapezoidal neutrosophic numbers are well-known and used in solving the transportation problem and its extension. Besides, a novel ranking function is proposed with the help of membership functions, which gives the best optimal solution. Moreover, the obtained optimal solution has been compared with recent new approaches. This research will help to get the best optimal solution for the transportation problem under uncertainty.

Abstract

Disease has been a major concern in the rice-growing sector, resulting in significant losses and compromised food security. To combat disease, plants have devised various defense strategies. Initial works in understanding plant–pathogen interactions were focused on discovering resistance and pathogenicity genes, as well as analyzing the functions of these genes in the host defense. Later, researchers discovered that regulatory elements, such as transcription factors, were essential players in modulating plant defenses. As the depth of research and knowledge in this field increased, non-coding RNA (ncRNA) were discovered to play key functions in plant immunity. In this review, we explore the contribution and interaction of microRNAs (miRNAs), long ncRNAs (lncRNAs), and small interfering RNAs (siRNAs) in controlling the rice immune response. The role and the interaction between ncRNAs and their targets have been discussed in detail. We believe that this information will be beneficial in disease resistance breeding of rice.
