The current study mathematically models key factors influencing Risk Perception (RP) that involves knowledge inferred from present situations and social learning, past information and priming effect. It is a generalized perception-based model and in the present paper, it is applied to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The computational model has been simulated for numerous rounds in two phases to find a quantitative value of the model factors. In the first phase, the model reflected dependency of RP upon recent past events and priming, while second phase revealed that social learning modulates RP, even in ASD. This further proves that peer-interaction plays a crucial role in building perception. The identification of script in a document page image is the first step for an OCR system processing multi-script documents. In this multilingual/multiscript world, document processing systems relying on the OCR that need human involvement to select the appropriate OCR package is definitely undesirable and inefficient. The development of robust and efficient methods for automatic script identification of a document is a subject of major importance for automatic document processing in a multilingual/multiscript environment. Thus, the basic objective is to come up with some intuitive methods having straightforward implementation without compromising with efficiency. The aim of this work is to evaluate state-of-the-art feature extraction and classification techniques in the field of automatic script identification of printed and handwritten documents and to propose the best combination for the same. This paper proposed a Gate-All-Around (GAA) Schottky Barrier (SB)-Gate Stack (GS)-based Dopingless Cylindrical Nanowire Field-Effect Transistor (SB-GS-DNWFET) for the application of phosphine (PH3) gas detection. The Schottky barrier nanowire FET is used over a conventional nanowire FET at nanometer scale due to its inherent advantages such as low parasitic resistance and higher ON-state current. In this sensor, the changes in the work function of the metal gate electrode have been used for the detection amount of gas. Three different catalytic metals such as platinum, rhodium, and iridium are preferred as gate electrodes for PH3 gas detection because of their reactivity and sensitivity towards that gas. The sensitivity can be measured in terms of change in ON-state current (ION), subthreshold leakage current (IOFF), ON-state current-to-OFF-state current ratio (ION/IOFF), and threshold voltage (Vth) for sensing the gas molecules. The work function of these catalytic metals at gate electrode is varied as 50, 100, 150, and 200 meV to investigate the change in sensitivity parameters. In this work, the sensitivity of the Schottky barrier GAA-NWFET gas sensor with different catalytic metals (Pt, Rh, Ir) is compared and the impact of process parameters such as channel length and gate stacked (GS = SiO2 + high-k dielectric) on the sensitivity parameters is also studied. The manuscript presents a bragging-based ensemble forecasting model for predicting the number of incidences of a disease based on past occurrences. The objectives of this research work are to enhance accuracy, reduce overfitting, and handle overdrift; the proposed model has shown promising results in terms of error metrics. The collated dataset of the diseases is collected from the official government site of Hong Kong from the year 2010 to 2019. The preprocessing is done using log transformation and z score transformation. The proposed ensemble model is applied, and its applicability to a specific disease dataset is presented. The proposed ensemble model is compared against the ensemble models, namely dynamic ensemble for time series, arbitrated dynamic ensemble, and random forest using different error metrics. The proposed model shows the reduced value of MAE (mean average error) by 27.18%, 3.07%, 11.58%, 13.46% for tuberculosis, dengue, food poisoning, and chickenpox, respectively. The comparison drawn between the proposed model and the existing models shows that the proposed ensemble model gives better accuracy in the case of all the four-disease datasets. Objectives: Adult patients undergoing tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) repair have a higher risk of mortality compared to pediatric patients. Pulmonary regurgitation (PR) further predisposes these patients to heart failure, arrhythmias, and sudden death. Pulmonary valve replacement (PVR) may improve the symptoms in these patients but, fails to reverse the other deleterious effects. Aim of our study was to evaluate the effect of concomitant PVR with TOF repair on right ventricular (RV) parameters, cardiopulmonary exercise capacity, and bioprosthetic valve durability at mid-term. Materials and Methods: Between January 2013 and August 2018, 37 adolescents and adults with TOF who had hypoplastic pulmonary annulus underwent concomitant TOF repair with PVR at our institute. We retrospectively collected the data from the hospital records including follow-up. Results: Mean age of the patients was 18.48 ± 7.53 years. Bioprosthetic valve size ranged from 19 mm to 25 mm. There was no early or late mortality. No patient had developed significant perioperative complications. At a mean follow-up of 53.3 ± 16.4 months, there was no significant change in mean QRS duration, RV function, RV end-systolic and end-diastolic dimensions, RV myocardial performance index, and functional status (including NYHA class and 6-min walk test) compared to at-discharge values. Four patients developed prosthetic valve degeneration with mild PR and without significant increase in gradient. Conclusion: Concomitant PVR with TOF repair in adult provides excellent mid-term outcome, with a minimal rate of pulmonary valve degeneration.
