The article focuses on the importance of antenatal care (ANC) in improving maternal and newborn health, emphasizing the need for effective communication, comprehensive coverage, and standardized measurement systems to assess ANC quality. Topics include the essential parameters of ANC quality, the concept of effective coverage, and challenges in achieving desired outcomes, as illustrated by the case of Pakistan.

Objectives: To evaluate the perception of postgraduate trainees about their Postgraduate hospitals educational environment in 3 public teaching hospitals, analysis of their problems and to suggest solutions. Study Design: Mixed-methods sequential. Place and Duration of Study: Rawalpindi Medical University Allied Hospital, from Jun 2015 to Mar 2017. Patients and Methods: In first stage, 221 PGTs selected by non-probability convenient sampling, filled postgraduate hospital educational environment measure. During second stage, 4 semi structured focus group discussions were conducted. Results: Overall mean score 78.27 indicated plenty of problems. PGTs admired some positive aspects but their postgraduate hospital educational environment was compromised due to inadequate basic facilities, suboptimum administration, uncooperative paramedical staff, patients & attendants, misconceptions of public about their duties & thus holding them responsible for every problem in hospital, media's propaganda, unrealistic expectations of seniors, lack of senior commitment, patient overload and prolonged working hours. PGTs suggested that administration should take responsibility to provide, adequate basic facilities, security and restriction on weapons. There should be predefined fixed duty hours, appropriate Job descriptions and monitored system of entry for attendants. Health budget must be increased, appropriately allocated and fairly utilised. Adequate seats of paramedics, PGTs and consultants must be ensured. Government and media should provide realistic information about hospital facilities to optimize patient's expectations. Seniors should facilitate theoretical and practical learning by personal involvement in a friendly environment and should discuss PGTs problems on regular bases. Objectives: To determine the frequency of burnout amongst doctors of the department of Obstetrics & Gynecology in Rawalpindi Medical University (RMU) & Allied hospitals, Rawalpindi by using CBI and some specific questions to assess the impact of COVID-19 on their personal and professional lives. Study Design: Cross-sectional survey Study Duration: From April 2020 – May 2021. Study Setting: Obstetrics & Gynae department, RMU and allied hospitals i.e., Holy Family Hospital (HFH), Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH), and District Headquarter Hospital (DHQ). Study Population: Doctors of 4 units of the department of obstetrics and gynecology, RMU & allied hospitals. Sampling technique: Non-probability convenient sampling Results: Results showed inadequate provision of PPE & Covid testing, fear of transmission of infection to family and friends, effect on the care of elderly at home and relationship with a partner, and increased mood irritability. Personal burnout was 54, work-related burnout was 49.6, and patient-related burnout was 37. Conclusion: There is significant family and personal burnout but still patient burnout is not present, showing high professionalism in our doctors. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Ovarian malignancy is the second most common gynaecological malignancy diagnosed during pregnancy. A grand multipara, aged 30 years presented with gestational amenorrhea with abdominal discomfort and breathlessness for last 15 days. Sonographic examination demonstrated a huge, unilocular ovarian cyst and an alive fetus of about 30 weeks gestation. Intraoperative findings were huge left ovarian cyst (42x40x20 cm) with straw coloured mucinous fluid. Left salpingo-oophorectomy was performed followed by peritoneal washings and omental biopsy. Histopathology revealed mucinous cystadenomas with inflammatory changes in omentum and no malignant cells in peritoneal washings. She delivered vaginally a female baby of 3.5 kg at 38 weeks with good Apgar score.

Intravaginal Misoprostol is being used with excellent results for second trimester pregnancy termination, worldwide. However, there are many case reports of serious complications of uterine rupture in such cases, both in previously scarred as well as in unscarred uterus. In this report, we describe a case of uterine rupture in an unscarred uterus during second-trimester pregnancy termination with intravaginal misoprostol.
